While in other events, the OST for an ARY Drama Ishqiya won him an award.

PM Imran Khan To Distribute Flats & Houses To Labour Class

PM Imran Khan is all set to inaugurate the fully constructed phase I of the Labour Complex. The event is happening at Japan Road Zone V Islamabad. Today, he will distribute the possession certificate of 1,000 flats and 500 houses to the eligible workers.

This distribution is going to take place today with a transparent balloting process. The balloting allows all the eligible workers to have a fair chance. This will mark the completion of the first phase of this housing scheme.

Zulfi Bukhari, the spokesperson to the PM Imran Khan, also said that the second phase of the Labour Complex is about to launch that would be developed on modern lines. The second phase will provide accommodations to more than 1,500 laborers of the federal capital.

According to Zulfi Bukhari, the first phase of construction started in earlier 2011. However, due to the previous government’s slackness, the project never sought the light of the day.

The new policy

The spokesperson to PM Imran Khan also stated that the workers would be entitled to get the banks’ incentives to a lender for financing a housing facility under the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme. The houses to the workers would be provided on an ownership basis instead of rentals.

Eligibility criteria for workers

The workers should not own any property.
They should not have any allotment in any housing scheme
The eligible workers should not be a convict.
The workers should not own more than Rs 500,000 assets.
They should not own more than Rs 500,000 assets and must be registered with Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) or Employees Social Security.

Amenities included in the policy by PM Imran Khan.

The surface area covers 750 Square feet and has two rooms and a kitchen with a lounge and bathroom. However, each house was built at 775 square feet, which has a ground floor, rooms, kitchen, lounge, and bathroom.

The complex has other amenities that include a Masjid, utility stores, community center dispensary. A water supply network along with gross drainage and sewerage works.

However, the second phase’s amenities will include a model school for girls and boys, a polytechnical college, parks, a playground, and many others.

PM Imran Khan’s government revived this scheme after taking charge of the current government. As the previous government started this project, the policies were changed with the federal cabinet’s approval.

Hotel Managers Association of Turkey (TUROYD) is a platform that brings together hotels and tour operators for effective activation of tourism-related activities. Their effectiveness is acknowledged all over the world because they offer services to 71 countries.

Ali Can Aksu made a presentation where he said that TUROYD recognizes how the pandemic has affected the tourism industry. Now a recent study has suggested a relationship between cannabis and COVID-19. The study states that cannabis is essential to control the spread of COVID-19 as it inhibits infection in the human lungs.

In a person suffering from an inflammatory condition, the lungs fail to remove harmful gases like carbon dioxide and cannot provide oxygen to the body. This helps the virus multiply rapidly in the lungs, resulting in respiratory conditions such as ARDS. Various studies have shown acute respiratory distress syndrome as a major cause of death in COVID-19 patients.

ARDS is a result of increased inflammatory products in the blood. As a result of these inflammatory markers, they start to attack the cells in the body. The symptoms can range from high fever, inflammation, severe fatigue, and nausea. In extreme cases, this condition can become life-threatening and can cause organ failure and death.

Effect of cannabis on COVID-19

After her research, Marsha Rosner from the University of Chicago in Illinois has found that cannabidiol (CBD) and its metabolite 7-OH-CBD potently blocked SARS-CoV-2 replication in lung epithelial cells. The study showed that CBD inhibited the replication of the virus in the lungs.

Several other studies conducted on animal models suggest that CBD can reverse the damage caused by ARDS. Tissue overgrowth, scarring, and swelling in the lungs are significantly reduced after the use of cannabis.

Motorola is viciously trying to make its name big again and this time, they’re creating a flagship phone that has incredible specs at an affordable price.

The Moto Edge S

The Moto Edge S is the previous rendition of the flagship phone which launched in China earlier this year. Although it is not yet clear when this phone will reach new markets, there is the information it’ll be renamed before it does. The new seat of leaks suggests it’ll be renamed as the Moto G100 before expanding into other markets.

To What Extent Is It The Same?

The image in the tweet above is allegedly the Moto G100. However, the two phones seem to have the same rear quad-camera, dual punch-hole selfie camera on the front display, and wide slightly-recessed lock button on the side.

Critics are also saying that it is possible that the leaks accidentally misnamed the Edge S as G100. However, if it’s true, it will be easier to explain why the name G100 has not been supported with details of its function.

People are calling this development, based on the leaks, a today’s phone with yesterday’s specs.

Firstly, the Edge S contains a Snapdragon 870 (a repackaged version of last year’s leading Snapdragon 865 chipset with tweaks for launching 5G phones). The Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi case has made us question a lot of our beliefs and observations. Is it true that as a nation we like women more after they have suffered? It is very likely that had any woman’s harassment been broadcasted and then she would have filed the case, she would be hailed as a warrior.

However, when there is no proof, why must her word be questioned by necessity? Food for thought is Syra Yousuf’s case. While she was married to Shahroz Sabzwari, she was constantly criticised for her dressing. Now she is divorced and her dressing remains the same but the majority could not love her more. What exactly changed?

Is There An End To It?

This legal battle has gotten messier than any case that has ever been publicised. Moreover, too many agents have gotten involved in it now be it supporters, fans, family members or international media. This begs the question: will there be ever an end to this case?

Though the answer or the closure seems infinitely distant right now, we’re hoping our legal institutions will be fair in their judgement.

For seven years the couple that had reigned on all our hearts, parted ways amidst much drama last year. Separated in 2019, Shahroz Sabzwari & Syra Yousuf got officially divorced in the year 2020. Syra, Shahroz, and Sadaf Kanwal were the highlight of the love triangle that the Pakistani audience had formed even though Shahroz had denied all such allegations.

People were assuming that it was because of Sadaf that Shahroz left Syra. But whatever became the reason, they did get divorced. And while they still need to maintain contact because they have a child together, meeting outside of that context must be awkward. Agar Magar

In the year 2018, Syra and Shahroz were part of a movie titled Agar Magar but that had not gotten released. It was worked on until 2019 but then the production was halted. After that, Syra must have applied for khula, and meeting up then would have been something for which awkward would be a vast understatement.

But a year after the divorce, when the issue has subsided a little in people’s minds, the production for the film has resumed. Shahroz has stated that only a song is left for which they will shoot together.

The questions that remain are will the awkwardness be visible on-screen, and will Sadaf, his new wife, have issues with the work arrangement. We will have to wait and see!

Hub Rally ’21, A Huge Landmark For MotorSports In Pakistan

If you are a fan of Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift and fell in love with the racing style, it was nothing compared to witnessing drift on the sandy racing track. When that rally race car makes a sharp turn starting a mini sand storm, it renders you speechless. Hub Rally ’21 was a compilation of numerous such speechless moments.

Hub Rally is a motorsport event, one amongst very few, that gives Pakistanis an opportunity to not only get introduced to motor sports but also get inspired.

And when one is an enthusiast, they get up early morning to reach the location only an hour away from Karachi where the event starts at 8:00am.

Chief Executive Toyota Highways, Shujaat Hussain, and the renowned rally racer, Ronnie Patel, inaugurated the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony following the national anthem.

While the fact that this motorsport happening in Pakistan is already a huge landmark, what was even greater was that there was a category for female racers in the event. Three female racers competed in a society where women taking part in any sport is frowned upon; Mahum Shiraz, Nida Wasti, and Pakistan’s first female rally racer, Tushna Patel defied the stereotypes.

Day two of the event started with the women category race with Tushna Patel, winning it with an 11 minute and 58-second difference. Following that were stocks race for the men’s category, and the main event, the Prepared category. Nadir Magsi, in the main event, emerged victorious by twelve seconds.

Motor sports stakeholders

Talking to the winner of the women’s category, Brandsynario asked Tushna what future does she see for motor racing in Pakistan. Tushna responded that it is an event where, to race a car, you need to build your car up in, let’s say 50 lacs. But then, after you are done with the race, you have to dispose that and start anew, spending yet another 21 lac or so on building another vehicle. “So it is that sport which is just not possible without sponsors,” says Tushna Patel.

She adds that if more and more sponsors link hands with the organizers, in 5 years, events like Hub Rally will be as grand as PSL. But to make this 2021 Rally possible, she says she would thank not only the Government of Balochistan but also the current sponsors.

Amongst numerous, the biggest sponsor for the rally this year was Pakistan’s largest tracking company, Falcon-i. With Falcon-i sponsoring, the race track, this year, expanded to 50 kilometres going all the way to the Gadani coastline.

Head of Sales and Business Development at Falcon-i, Atif Majeed, shared that Falcon-i believes in the equality of genders so they wholeheartedly support motorsports but with the inclusion of women, and they proved so by being the main sponsor.

The event ended on a good note where the spectators enjoyed as much as the racers. Everyone was covered in sand but had a bright smile on their faces. Hopefully, in future, the scale for these events will be grander so that more people can witness the dust storm rising in the most picturesque way possible.

Nestle launched the idea after research where KitKat found that about 43% of Australians are recycling incorrectly.

The new logo showed the recycling logo with a different design that looks aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. The chocolate wrapper reads, Recycle me, give the planet a break, which sounds extremely sweet.

With its new packaging, KitKat is emphasizing the need for environment-friendly products while eliminating plastic. Kit Kat is available in hundreds of flavors worldwide, and with the launch of environment-friendly packaging, the brand will take the world by storm.

However, this is not the first time that Nestle is launching an alternative to plastic. Nestle Japan is steps ahead with its marketing strategy. They launched paper packaging for the bars, which can create origami art. With this move, Japan is expected to reduce plastic by approximately 380 tonnes per year.

Eco-friendly packaging for the environment

The campaign dropped after Nestle Australia partnered with different companies to bring out more eco-friendly options. The campaign is supported with recyclable bins in the supermarkets where the consumers can drop the empty soft plastic wrappers.

This is a brilliant way for the brand to create awareness about the importance of recycling. This helps us to adopt habits that are crucial for the environment and lifestyle changes.

Another Pakistani University Couple Goes Viral For Proposing

It seems that this is a new trend; Pakistani university couple on the university premises. In a recent viral clip, a couple is seen where the boy goes on his knees, and with a bouquet of flowers, he proposes to his, who we assume to be his girlfriend.

The girl accepts, and the two hug each other. This happened next to a heart made out of rose petals. There was also an ‘O heart R’ written inside the heart. Have a look at the video to see how the event transpired.

The backlash on the couple

People were quick to bash. They brought in ethical issues, moral issues and discussed religious limitations to the expression of love. But they were not this kind about it. And the taunts were quite harsh.

This comes not too long after another Pakistani University Couple went viral for a proposal. In that, instead of the guy, the girl proposed, going on her knee. But after being bashed and the university becoming the highlight, the university had expelled the two.

Top 6 Medical Clinical Trials That Went Horribly Wrong

The thirst for human knowledge sometimes can cause drastic results. But when you are curious, you need to conduct clinical trials. Since clinical trials are a step into the unknown, humans can make grave mistakes that lead to dangerous effects over time. There have been some of those trials where many people died or went through a near-death experience. Some of the worst clinical trials that shocked the world include:

1. Leukemia clinical trials

In 2016, a biotechnology company named Juno Therapeutics launched a clinical trial for cancer immunotherapy. In the trial, doctors injected the CAR-T into the affected individuals. The CAR-T therapy can kill the malignant cells in the patients, resulting in tumor cells’ death. The multiple side effects included headaches, altered consciousness, and toxicity. However, three patients died as a result of swelling in the brain.

2. Thalidomide clinical trial

In 1956, the drug thalidomide was introduced as a sedative medicine. Later, an Australian obstetrician discovered that the medication is safe for consumption in pregnant females for morning sickness. The medicine was then available OTC for frequent use because it had no possible side effects. By 1960, over 10,000 children were born with severe impairments, including missing limbs and cleft palates. There were also multiple cases of stillborn and miscarried pregnancies. In 1961, the same Australian doctor, William Mcbride discovered the relationship of thalidomide with birth defects. Within a year, the doctors banned thalidomide worldwide. This is one of the worst cases of a clinical trial on human beings.

3. Gene therapy clinical trial

An 18-year-old was suffering from a condition called ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency (OTC). He lacked an enzyme that does not cause the breakdown of ammonia in the body. As a result, ammonia accumulates in the liver, causing toxicity. In the late 1900s, a clinical trial started at the University of Pennsylvania, which aimed at removing the defect of the newborn at birth. The 18-year-old teen took part in the clinical trial, which resulted in a massive immune response in his body resulting in multiple organ failure and brain death.

4. The elephant man drug trial

In March 2006, 8 men took part in a clinical trial for an experimental leukemia drug known as TGN1412. The drug was successfully tested on monkeys, but there was no data of humans trials. As a result, they went through multiple organ failures and death. The clinical trial survivor recalls the horrendous experience of staying in the hospital for four weeks. After the incident, the patient had to get blood transfusions every twenty-four hours. He got frostbite in his fingers and toes, which lead to amputation.

5. John Hopkins asthma trials

A 24-year-old woman died while participating in a drug trial. Hexamethonium was a drug that was not FDA-approved. Doctors wanted to relate the action of the drug hexamethonium for asthmatic patients. The drug led to a cough which resulted in the breakdown of lung tissue and ultimately kidney failure.

6. Antipsychotic drug clinical trials

In 2003, Dr. Stephen Olson, an associate professor at the University of Minnesota’s recruited a young individual for a clinical trial. He wanted to study the effect of antipsychotic drugs in patients with their first psychotic episode. However, as a result of this trial, the patient’s condition kept deteriorating, and he ended up killing himself in his bathroom.

In conclusion, lack of adequate knowledge regarding human clinical trials can cause harmful effects, and these effects sometimes can be passed on to future generations.

Mardan Bride Demands A Unique Haq Mehr Worth Rs. 100,000

The woman belongs to Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and she has demanded that her husband provides books as haq Mehr. Usually, Haq Mehr is set by the girl’s family in our culture. And it is almost always a financial amount. But in originality, the Haq mehr is the bride’s right. And the Mardan bride has used it by telling her husband that more than money, she would prefer getting books. But the books, in total, should be worth 1 lac rupees.

Breaking stereotypes

She says that it is her way of breaking the stereotypical wrong traditions that have been embedded in our wedding customs.

“I asked for books because, firstly, everything has become so expensive. We can’t afford these things [lavish weddings] due to inflation. I did this because we need to put an end to wrong customs. Our lives are getting so difficult due to them.”

“Every woman wants gold and money, but as a writer, I asked for books. If, as a writer, I myself do not value books, how can I expect ordinary people to value them? This was the real reason I asked for books for my haq mehr — we need to value books ourselves so we can ask others to do so as well.”
