From time to time, a picture or a video goes to the internet, and for some element within that video, it goes viral. A similar thing happened yesterday when someone posted a video of a bride’s entry. The lavishness broadcasted in that video was blinding. Or it could be the extravagant fireworks present on the scene. Regardless, the video was shared claiming that all girls would want such an entry. But Pakistani girls didnt agree with it.

First, let’s look at the video, shall we?

In the video, we can see that a girl is wearing her wedding dress and someone is holding Quran above her head. She is standing outside a house which is bursting with fire but not in a negative way. Let’s just say, it looks like how we celebrate Shab e Baraat.

People had the best comments for it though.

This Twitter guy said th emost witty thing ever making us literally rolling on floor laughing out loud (roflol). He said this looks less like a bride’s entry and more like an undertaker’s entry, and he ain’t that wrong either.

But since the tweet assumed that all girls want such entries, it was necessary to see how the girls were reacting to it. And well, they made us proud.

Aside from the infamous Mere Paas Tum Ho, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has to his crown the badge of yet another very successful drama, Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua. This too starred Ayeza Khan who played a character of a woman who had cheated on and left her husband. Sound very much like MPTH but then again; same writer so that’s expected. Anyway, looking at the drama again, it seems that it predicted the divorce of Bill Gates.

At the beginning of this week, we got to know that the billionaire couple who is known to be involved in lots of donations for good causes had parted ways after 27 years of marriage. People weren’t expecting such news and while some were sad, many others were out there making memes on this life event of Bill Gates. While looking up past references for the famous, now separated, couple, Pakistanis stumbled across a clip from the drama Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua, and they just couldn’t believe it. It was a dialogue by a character reprimanding Ayeza Khan’s character on her infidelity.

She said that even a poor man feels like the richest man if his wife is loyal to him. To compare her statement by talking about an extremely rich man, she referred to Bill Gates. She said that if even if a billionaire like him finds out that his wife ran away, he’d feel he’s the poorest man.

The way she says it is love though, even if the statement is hugely problematic.

Now, people are creating parallels to the statement but shouldn’t we be a little careful at what we say. By saying that the drama predicted Bill Gates’s divorce we are essentially saying, Melinda Gates had an extramarital affair. This is a HUGE allegation that wouldn’t really matter to the Gates but it will affect us; What we say affects our personality, make us more insensitive. Not to mention, divorce is something very personal, and a hard decision that a couple arrives at after much thought process, shouldn’t we not make fun of that?

Maheen Hassan Tops CSS 2020 Exams, Makes The Nation Proud

CSS (Central Superior Services) is regarded as one of the most difficult exams in Pakistan. Many try their luck to join the bureaucracy circle through this avenue. But out of thousands, only a handful make it past even the first round. CSS 2020 was no different. A Pakistani girl made us all proud by securing the top position.

For CSS 2020, eighteen thousand five hundred and fifty-three (18,553) candidates appeared. When the results were results announced by FPSC (Federal Public Service Commission) on Thursday, it was for the written exam. After the results were posted, 376 candidates cleared. The next step is the viva after which 364 candidates were finalized. Maheen Hassan was the top amongst all 18,553. 226 were male and 138 were female. It is interesting to see the gap between genders bridging.

But it also means that only 1.9% out of all those who appeared made it. The percentage makes it more evident, how tough these exams really are. And yet, Maheen proved she was worth it.

Where we heard about automotive brands coming to Pakistan, we also heard about Volkswagen. Now, this is a brand that has been in operation for quite a long time. They have been known to manufacture extraordinary vehicles. The concept of a Beatle vehicle came from this brand. Today, they can be considered as the Disney of the automotive industry. Many huge brands are owned by them.

Volkswagen is also a brand that takes the form of a classic era. The cars themselves give off a premium vibe. Despite there being so much competition, it still hasn’t slowed this company down. The company is making a mark and rising fast. In recent news, it seems that a Volkswagen plant is soon coming to Pakistan.

The Volkswagen Plant

Apparently, there has been news where the construction of such a plant is being discussed. It opens up a lot of prospects and opportunities for Pakistan. Under an agreement from 2018, the company will set up shop here and manufacture vehicles too! Do you understand what this means? More vehicle production in Pakistan means more revenue generation. Our value in the global market could rise substantially because of this.

This plant will have the capacity to produce about 28,000 vehicles every year. While the number may not sync up with the population, it is definitely a good start. Due to the pandemic occurring, the production and construction of this plant were halted. However, 2021 is bringing about a lot of good news for everyone. It is time for us to step into the 21st century, in regards to cars.

Volkswagen Is Impressive

Not only has the company managed to produce cars, but they have also extended their domain. While they did start with combustion engine vehicles, now they are moving towards electric too. The ID series is one that we know of and it is Volkswagen’s electric division. For now, we aren’t sure which models will go into production but we can hope that they will be different ones. Diversity in this era is an important thing and everyone will benefit from it.

Additionally, maybe the construction of this plant can urge other brands to enter Pakistan too. We know that KIA is currently operational in Pakistan and MG has gotten the greenfield status. Pretty soon, we may begin to see another brand of vehicle in the country.

Sony To Redesign PS5 & Set To Start Production In 2022

The pandemic is a prime example of such a hindrance. Now it seems that Sony might have to re-design the PS5.

If you keep up with tech news, you may have heard of the recent silicon shortage. There is a lacking of semiconductor chips. These are widely used in smartphones, consoles, and many other devices. They are a core element to how these tech devices function. However, the chip shortage has brought a lot of production to a slower pace.

Sony Decision

While the PS5 has been one of the most popular consoles of the decade, it is still running short. Sony seems to be struggling to keep up with demand due to the shortage. When asked, the company responded by giving two alternatives. Either they will think of some way to get an alternate resource or they will re-design the console. The second one seems to be quite probable right now.

When we talk about design here, we are assuming that a lot of the changes will be internal. They intend to alter the architecture in such a way as to reduce silicon usage. This way they can produce more consoles in bulk and keep up with demand. Sony can use this strategic move to bring better results to the company itself. People want to buy the PS5 but many are unable to.

We are not aware of how the design will be altered, but we know that it is a good possibility this will happen. We hope that Sony is able to keep up with changing times because the shortage is everywhere. Just recently, Apple had to stop a smartphone shipment because the chips were short on the market.

The world of gaming is taking a turn for the better and there is a lot on the way. From virtual reality to immersive gaming, each sector is moving forward on its own. If there is one thing that has been boosted in the days of 2020, it is online gaming. Not only have player charts increased, but they have also helped companies generate a lot of revenue.

This French Campaign Highlights A Taboo In The Most Impactful Way

Talking about taboo is important because taboo essentially is something that is prohibited, and you ensure it by not even talking about it. So when you start talking about it, you have defeated it for the most part. This french campaign does just that with an issue that is considered taboo, not for one or two countries but most of the world.

Periods and women

The topic in question is none other than periods. Most women have to endure periods, but sanitary pads, tampons, and menstrual cups get weirdly categorized as a luxury. This is why these products are not accessible to everyone. Some women even have to use cloth which is highly unhygienic. But since it is taboo, people don’t talk about it, and awareness doesn’t spread. As a result, women stay quiet about it and have to compromise on school and work during the periods days.

France decided to bring it up in conversation to do something positive for their 1.7 million women who do not have the financial means to spend on this necessity. House of Communication France and Règles Élémentaires teamed up for the task.

French campaign on the taboo

Calling the women who have to disappear during periods invisible women, they decided to highlight the issue through the most visible women. Now, who is the most visible for someone? Weather people! Of course, not in Pakistan; here, we do not even believe the weather forecast. But in countries such as France, residents need to be up-to-date about the day-to-day weather, which is why everyone watches at least the weather bit in the entire news program.

So, for the purpose of this campaign, weather presenters were asked not to go on air and 9 TV channels which included three national tv channels, did just that. And the text was put up that said that the women are not available because they were on their periods.

This campaign started in February, and within a few months, there is already a positive effect on policies.

Suzuki to Invest $460Mn in Pakistan if New Auto Policy Revised

Suzuki has plan of investing $460 million into Pakistan if the government revises recently announced new auto policy and offers some incentives.

Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company that assembles Suzuki cars for the local market, showed concerns over the new auto policy in a statement it emailed to an international news agency.

Karachi based Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company said that the new auto policy has damaged the investment potential in country’s automobile industry by existing players like Pak Suzuki Motor Co., which is ready to invest  $460 million in Pakistan if incentives and benefits are provided.

Pakistan Suzuki Motor Co. further disclosed that by $460 million investment, a new state of the art plant of Suzuki would be built on urgent basis and the company will also launch 4 new models within next five years – two out of these four would be available in the market by 2018.

Ferozsons Laboratories Salutes Healthcare Heroes By Lighting National Monuments Blue

To honour the selfless efforts and sacrifices made by doctors, nurses, paramedics and frontline health workers during the ongoing pandemic, Ferozsons Laboratories Limited, a leading pharmaceutical company, launched a nation-wide initiative to turn three iconic monuments – Faisal Mosque, the Lahore Fort, and Frere Hall –  into beacons of blue light on 4th and 5th May. The activity took place with the collaboration and generous support of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), as well as the Ministry of Interior. The initiative aimed to pay tribute to the healthcare community, the unsung heroes of the pandemic.

Representing all those who bravely battled the pandemic and lost their lives in service of their patients, Management of Ferozsons Laboratories, Government Officials and Family Members of Doctors initiated the illumination of the monuments by lighting candles in memory of their loved ones.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO of Ferozsons Laboratories Limited, Mr. Osman Khalid Waheed, said “We are all indebted to doctors and frontline health workers everywhere, who risk their own lives every day to put patients first. This initiative aims to show these true heroes the nation’s gratitude and support.”

Mr. Kamran Lashari, the Director General of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), paid tribute to the medical community and commented, “The healthcare workers who have worked tirelessly against COVID-19 are the real heroes. I am extremely glad to see the efforts of Ferozsons to commemorate the efforts of these frontline workers. I’m very happy that my department, walled city and metropolitan were a part of this initiative. Health workers, we salute you.”

In Karachi, Mr. Laeeq Ahmad, Administrator of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), on the lighting of Frere Hall, said “We must never forget the workers at the frontline. Every day is a struggle for them and by lighting up Frere Hall, we want to tell them that we see them, and we stand with them.”

Mr. Amer Ali Ahmed, Chairman CDA, with whose generous support the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad was illuminated blue, commented, “These unsung heroes deserve our highest appreciation and support. In the Holy Month of Ramazan, we remember their sacrifices and stand by them, just like they have stood by us.”

This event was a poignant reminder of the tremendous sacrifices made by doctors and healthcare workers across the country. Their daily acts of heroism, which often go unnoticed, deserve our highest gratitude, encouragement and support.

From Aalim Online To Jeeeway Pakistan – What Went Wrong?

Aamir Liaquat is a personality that got introduced to the general public from Aalim Online, a show that featured various religious scholars. It was there that we saw Doctor Aamir Liaquat Hussain. And now, in 2021, we see Aamir Liaquat doing Naagin Dance on the set of Jeeeway Pakistan. The audience finds it hard to digest. Why? Because our first interaction has established him as a religious scholar.

Jeeeway Pakistan 2.0

In almost every episode of Jeeeway Pakistan 2.0, we get to see Aamir Liaquat doing something that doesn’t sit well with us. First, it was the Naagin dance where he started moving as a Naadin would and then started rolling all around the floor.

Another instant was when Saboor Aly was invited to his show and she felt so uncomfortable that she had to call him out on live television requesting him to keep his eyes away from her. Moreover, he insulted Fahad Mustafa by saying he is not worthy of being a host. The reason he gave was that Fahad insults his guests. He further goes on to doing self-praise saying he would never insult his guests. But in every episode, we have seen him insult his guests’ general knowledge (Zarnish Khan), their knowledge of Urdu (Ali Ansari), their personal life (Sanam Jung).

Not to mention how in the most recent episode, Aamir Liaquat kept pestering Ayesha Omar and Nabeel to get him a role at BulBulay.

Of course, people do say that it is all scripted. But just because it is scripted, does it justify what an influencer displays to the masses?

All that aside, these days when you watch the second season of Jeeeway Pakistan, it seems like Aamir sahab conducts the show as his own 1 hour 15 minutes long audition where he starts off by singing. He then moves on to displaying and proving himself right in every discipline. As the show segments change, he also delves into dancing and acting. And he does all that by ensuring that the guests say the least possible words.

So what happened here?

From what we can see, it seems that Aamir Liaquat wants to be known as an entertainer. An entertainer who can sing, dance, get casted in dramas, films, and also make intimate jokes with female guests. While all that, he also wants to be the highlight in general knowledge because he is a scholar. Now, here is the thing. When you delve into education to the deep end, your personality develops and you grow. You become a better version of yourself. But with Dr Aamir Liaquat, it did not happen. He claims to be a doctor and he continues with his behaviour that does not align with his education level. And this disjuncture is what people are finding hard to consume. Especially since the person we see in Jeeway Pakistan seems a step down from who we used to see in Aalim Online.

There’s A New Chef In Town & He’s Absolutely Adorable!

While skimming through a plethora of content on social media, a certain chefling caught our attention. Just look at him in his cute little chef attire, isn’t he just adorable?

This little munchkin is the star of the latest series by the name of “Somebody Feed Me” from the house of up-and-coming entertainment platform kartoos which has recently been making waves in the social content scene of Pakistan. The entertainment platform caught our attention earlier with originals such as “Meri Playlist” hosted by none other than Kashmir The Band’s lead vocalist Bilal Ali and their much-loved series within the gaming community “Versus” which was spearheaded by Pakistan’s most loved content creator Irfan Junejo

Now, back to the little chefling who has managed to woo us with his charming personality. The little munchkin has starred in multiple episodes of the new series in which he attempts to cook his favorite food in the kitchen. Here’s the little roadrunner trying his hand at making a Pizza

Isn’t he just cuteness overload? This little mischief-maker has so far appeared in a couple of episodes and to be honest we can’t seem to get enough of his adorable antics and ever-so-innocent shenanigans. Here’s our little superstar making what looks like a mouthwatering shake which he has named as “Yum Yum Shake”.

By the looks of the recently launched episode on Kartoos, the little MasterChef is here to stay and continue his adventure in the kitchen providing us with our daily fix of entertainment and cuteness.

All we can hope for is that we are able to watch this little munchkin stir up some amazing food with a dash of mischief for a long long time.

Haniya Khan’s Father Responds To Allegations Against Aamir Liaquat

Haniya Khan, the alleged wife of Aamir Liaquat, had gone to social media with her allegations a few days back. People paid attention to what she had to say but only with the idea of trolling Aamir Liaquat. Meanwhile, no one gave her any screentime.

Since then, she has tried taking to social media some pieces of evidence of her being in conversation with the entertainer, Dr. Amir Liaquat. From her video call screenshots to the recordings of his audio calls, she leaked it all. Once again, people trolled the scholar turned entertainer and no one paid any heed to the girl.

Haniya Khan goes live

So this time, Haniya Khan went live on Facebook sharing how she is angry at Aamir Liaquat for neither taking her with him nor divorcing her. She even says that she is angry at the entire city of Karachi who has sided with Aamir Liaquat and no one gave her any support. The video that started out normally became alarming all of a sudden. Exasperated at the Pakistani population’s response, she said she was suicidal and was going to drown at the sea without anyone knowing.

Whatever the issue is, if someone is sharing their suicidal thoughts, that is a cry for help. People should reach out to her. And if you cannot do that, then at least do not make negative comments that could push her down the cliff.

Haniya Khan – Father

While Haniya was going live, Aamir Liaquat shared a video of a man who claimed to be Haniya’s father. In that video, he said he is not aware of any marriage that happened, he only knows that his daughter is a patient of depression.

First of all, a depressed person doesn’t go around lying so even if she is suffering from any mental illness, it is at least not depression. This leads to another point. If he really is her father and has gotten Haniya diagnosed then should he not know exactly what she is suffering from. Moreover, he also says that once Aamir Liaquat came to their house and had helped them but he left after that.

Well, this is shady!

Couldn’t this have been how Haniya Khan and Aamir Liaquat got each other’s contact detail? Point to ponder.
