Expert Tips For Taking The Best Selfies

You’ve seen them. You’ve probably even taken a few of them yourself. But how do you make sure your selfies are Insta-worthy?

We’re not just talking about lighting or angles (though those are important, too). There are a few other secrets to taking the perfect selfie. Below, we’ve rounded up our top tips for snapping the best selfies possible.

Understand Your Lighting

Before you snap your selfie, take a second to understand your lighting. Natural light is always best, so try to find a spot where the sun is shining on your face. If that’s not possible, try using a bright light or a flash on your phone.

If you’re indoors, avoid taking selfies near windows or other bright lights, as they’ll create a glare on your face. And if you’re using the flash, make sure to hold your phone at least six inches away from your face to avoid overexposing it.

Work On Your Angles

How you angle your face is key when taking selfies. You want to make sure that you’re looking your best and that your features are on display. Angle your face slightly up, so that your chin is slightly lifted and your eyes are looking up. This will help elongate your neck and make you look more awake and alert. If you’re trying to slim down your face, tilt your head to the side a bit. This will help hide any areas you may be self-conscious about.

Make Use Of Props

If you want to take your selfie game to the next level, props are a great way to do it. They can add a unique touch of personality and flair to your selfies, keeping your followers engaged. For starters, think about what you want to convey in your photo, and choose props that will help you show it off. Are you a foodie? Try including a few of your favorite ingredients or dishes. Are you a budding photographer? Include an interesting camera or lens in the shot.

Edit & Edit

You don’t need to be a designer to get that ‘perfect’ look for your selfie. The key is editing your photo after it’s taken. There are mobile editing apps that can help you with this and the best part? They often come with pre-set filters so you don’t have to spend hours tinkering around with settings.

Strike A Natural Pose

When you’re taking selfies, it’s important to find the right balance between natural and posed photos. When you’re having fun and being spontaneous, that’s when you get those perfect shots. Being too posed can take away from the shot and make it look overly stiff.

Accountancy Talent Shortage In Pakistan, According To ACCA Talent Trends Survey

Professionals in Pakistan are most concerned about inflation and the possibility of a worldwide economic slump. The workplace has undergone the most significant change in a generation, and a new age has begun. In Pakistan, 55% of financial professionals anticipate changing jobs in the coming year, and another 26% in the following two years.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) new annual Global Talent Trends Survey 2023 offers a distinctive and crucial perspective on how people currently feel about working in the profession. It is one of the largest surveys ever conducted throughout the accountancy profession.

We surveyed over 8,000 professional accountants from 148 nations, including Pakistan, to learn about their career goals and worries about the future of work. Key workplace concerns like employee engagement, well-being, and attitudes toward technology adoption were also evaluated by the poll.

The study reveals a talent shortage for businesses as they battle to keep employees with lofty career mobility goals and an eye on their next position. The main concerns for workers in Pakistan right now are inflation, health, job prospects, and the possibility of a worldwide economic slump.

According to the poll, a career in accounting is still a wise choice for anyone looking for long-term career prospects and opportunities to continuously learn new skills in an era of major workforce change and a difficult global economic environment. It furthers the idea that selecting accountancy leads to a career with options and freedom to be able to obtain a professional certificate that allows for cross-sectoral and worldwide mobility.

In Pakistan, hybrid working is very much still a “work in progress,” with 75% of respondents saying they still work full-time in an office. Pakistan performs highly in terms of inclusion indicators, with 70% of respondents believing that their workplace culture is inclusive, compared to a global average of 68%.

Employers are changing and experimenting with new ways of working across the workforce as a result of a potential talent shortage, according to Jamie Lyon, Head of Skills, Sectors, and Technology at ACCA. The two things that draw people to an organization most—career advancement and compensation—are also the two things that have the biggest impact on their decisions to quit.

A strong economy in Pakistan depends on attracting the next generation of talent to the accountancy profession, according to Assad Hameed Khan, head of ACCA Pakistan. This poll makes sure that the opinions of those who are studying and working in the field are heard and that the industry contributes to the development of a workplace where today’s professionals flourish and where tomorrow’s talent wants to work.

Basic Etiquettes Pakistanis Need To Learn

Basic Etiquettes Pakistanis Need To Learn

There are certain sets of social rules and etiquette that the majority of people living in Pakistan should learn. These etiquettes are based on basic human decency and help shape one’s personality. These etiquettes solve social issues and better the nation as a whole. The difference can be seen on a larger scale even if everyone brings about a little change. In no way, am I claiming that these problems only lie within the Pakistani community but yes, these etiquettes need to be learned by everyone who needs them.

1. Assuming People’s Ages And Relationships At Social Gatherings

Pakistani culture involves big gatherings at happy occasions like someone’s wedding. However, there is always this particular group of “aunties” whose sole purpose is to assume people’s age based on the way they look, especially girls. They are also very vocal about it and do not hesitate to tell a girl that “red lipstick makes her look younger and she should go for a more nude tone”. These “aunties” also try and guess people’s relationships at such events. If a guy and a girl are seen together it is assumed that there is “something” between them. They then also create full scenarios in their head and continue to spread the “news”. Apparently, minding their own business is a very difficult job.

2. Giving Way To Ambulances While Driving

Civic sense is not very commonly seen on the streets of Pakistan. This is because of the “I own the city” mentality found in the majority of drivers. However, some also lack basic human decency. Many drivers do not give way to ambulances knowing that life might be at stake. Some people do give way but many think selfishly that they’re the only ones who need to get somewhere on time. Giving way to ambulances may get you late in reaching your destination but it sure will get you some good points as far as humanity is concerned.

3. Helping People Out When They See Someone Needs It

Like such ambulance incidents, it is seen almost every day on the streets of Pakistan that someone needs help but no one stops even for a second. They do not pay enough attention and even if they do not care enough to help. Does helping someone take a lot of time and effort? Apparently, for the people in Pakistan, it does. People are so engrossed in their own lives and are maybe even so selfish that they do not think once before ignoring such a person who looks like he needs help.

4. Restricting Themselves From Engaging In Gossip And Drama That Does Not Involve Them

Pakistanis are suckers for drama and gossip. It is mainly the reason why celebrities strive in the Pakistani TV and film industry. In corporate offices, normal households, and almost every social place people are extremely interested in listening to the new gossip. They love to hear rumors and furthermore, they also love to spread those rumors with some twist of their own. It’s almost as if people feed off of news about others be it, anybody. This culture only promotes negativity and may even affect the person’s mental health who the news is about.

5. Refraining From Giving Unwanted Advice

Another thing Pakistanis are very generous about is giving free advice. The excuse “Tumhare bhalai ke liye bol rahe hai” (We’re suggesting this for your own good) is frequently used by unsolicited consultants. In a society where “the elders know best,” it is simple to pass off prejudice and misogyny as altruistic care, especially when the advisors are somehow related to us.

Someone’s uncle might be angry because, despite his advice, they didn’t smile enough. Even while each of these events seems minor on its own, taken as a whole, they show a pattern. No gender is immune to this intrusive society, but the comments directed at certain people are particularly upsetting. The remarks show preconceived notions about what people should value most, such as their bodies, their clothes, or their families. They also expose an entitlement culture.

6. Avoid Becoming Freeloaders When They See An Opportunity

Understanding how cooperation can be sustained in the presence of freeloaders, or people who take advantage of the more cooperative members of groups they are anxious to join, has been one of the perennial difficulties in the study of social evolution. When groups are made up of strangers and those who participate more actively in group activities don’t receive any physical benefits, the freeloader dilemma might be especially problematic.

In “desi shaadis” or family gatherings, food is a must. But sometimes some people may think that the world is about to end and start hoarding food. This is where things take a rather bitter turn. The hosts might be the “I know but I am going to let it pass” type but this does not mean that is right. Pakistanis need to learn that when visiting some place or being a part of a social gathering it is not necessary to show your true self.

7. Stop Being Overly Influenced By Western Culture

Each nation has its own unique culture. Pakistan’s culture is immensely diverse, with each ethnic group getting its identity from unique cultural values and customs that ultimately set it apart from other groups. Our nation has become increasingly Westernized as a result of the media. The TV networks have a variety of program hosts and drama characters dressed in western attire. Moreover, English or Urdu? Majority of people, nowadays, are not proud to speak our own language, and the middle class and upper class are particularly guilty of this. Moreover, relationship culture has also been normalized which was never really a part of Pakistani culture.

8. Being Nice Towards House Help And To The Lower Class

Three categories make up the wealthy community – Generous, selfish, and egotistical. Many Pakistanis behave badly, beat their servants, and treat them like animals. However, other people are incredibly kind, and considerate, and treat them like family. Some people are egotistical; they only want their services and never assist them when they need it. Egoistic people treat them cruelly and like animals after that. However, such negative cases rarely ever come to light. There are good, kind-hearted people in Pakistan, but sadly, the media doesn’t highlight them since it only cares about negative news that divides and incites hatred among its audience.

9. Stop Thinking That Wealth And Status Define One’s Place In Society

The term “middle class” has a wide variety of definitions, ranging from a vague set of ideals to a very precise measurement of household income, and everything in between. Cash is like economic resources, especially income, wealth, and freedom from poverty. Credentials like educational achievements and qualifications, occupational status, and Culture attitudes, mindset, behavior, and self-definition. Pakistanis apparently think that these things define one’s social status and that in some people’s opinion is illiteracy. A wealthy man might not be a spendthrift and that is why he might look poor in society and the case might be vice versa. But this is a very unhealthy practice that has also encouraged people to act a certain way to “fit” into society.

10. Avoid Going To People’s House Uninvited

Pakistanis have this weird habit of being uninvited guests. They often go to people’s houses at odd hours and stay there even when they can feel that they might be uninvited or the hosts might want to rest. This comes under the category of “hospitality”. People have the misconception that everyone is very hospitable and that they can be “guests” for however long they want to. But when the tables turn, they might not be in the “giving back” spirit.

Anyways, Pakistanis are going to stay Pakistanis nonetheless.

Here Are The Routes For Karachi’s New Buses

The poor condition of Karachi’s public transportation is one of the city’s biggest problems; it not only makes traveling stressful but also poses a serious safety risk. Bus travel in cities has long been a source of constant nightmares. However, the Sindh government took control and introduced not one but three new services: Pink Bus, People’s Bus, and People’s Electric Bus. This was done in response to decades of complaints and a nearly complete shift of people to rickshaws and private cab services, which have grown in popularity despite constant fuel price increases.

Women Only Pink Bus

The Pink Bus, a citywide service that solely serves women, was introduced on February 1. Sharjeel Inam Memon, the minister of Sindh’s information ministry, announced it on Twitter.

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) has shared the bus’s route, which is as follows:
Currently, there is only one route for the bus, which travels from Model Colony to Tower through II Chundrigar Road and Shahrah-e-Faisal Road.

Peoples Bus Service

Karachi will host the Peoples Bus Service in June 2022. The best aspect of this service is that it will just cost you Rs.50. (depending on your route, of course). Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the foreign minister, formally opened this bus service. The politician also took a trip on the bus to inspect the amenities. For the intra-district bus project, 240 red hybrid air-conditioned buses were purchased from China. The following routes are offered by the people’s bus service:

  • Route 1: The 29-kilometer course passes through Shahrah-e-Faisal and travels along the city’s major thoroughfares. Model Colony is the starting point, followed by Malir Halt, Drigh Road, Karsaz, Metropole, and Tower.
  • Route 2: It begins in North Karachi and travels 32.9 kilometers before arriving at Indus Hospital. Buses traveling this route pass through Shah Faisal Colony, Nagan Chowrangi, NIPA, and Singer Chowrangi.
  • Route 3: This 33 km route travels from Nagan Chowrangi to Singer Chowrangi, passing via North Nazimabad Town, the Civic Center, the National Stadium, and the KPT Interchange.
  • Route 4: This route begins in North Karachi and travels through New Karachi, University Road, the M9, Ayesha Manzil, Lalu Khait, Guru Mandir, Empress Market, the Sindh High Court, II Chundrigar Road, and finally arrives at the dockyard.

Due to ongoing road maintenance, Routes 5, 6, and 7 are currently inoperable.

  • Route 8: Awarded to Larkana (intra-city).
  • Route 9: The path to Lyari travels through Boat Basin, Mai Kolachi, Native Jetty, and Mauripur Road beginning in Shireen Jinnah Colony.
  • Route 10: By way of MA Jinnah Road, Tower, II Chundrigar Road, Arts Council, Metropolitan Hotel, Marriott Hotel, Teen Talwar, Do Talwar, Abdullah Shah Ghazi, and Dolmen Mall, this route travels from Numaish Chowrangi to Clock Tower, Clifton.
  • Route 11: Shahrah-e-Faisal is used on this route to connect Gulshan-e-Hadeed and Tower.

People’s Electric Bus Service

On January 13, the transport minister, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, minister of local government for Sindh, and Saeed Ghani, minister of labor for Sindh, officially launched the People’s Electric Bus Service at Clock Tower, Seaview. According to the minister, “These buses, which run totally on stored batteries, are of European quality and will not spread any form of pollution.” He also said that in addition to decreasing pollution, the buses will provide low-cost travel options to citizens. This bus runs on Route 12 of the People’s Bus Service and is a component of that company.

  • Route 12: This bus runs to the Clock Tower Roundabout at Sea View through Shahrah-e-Faisal, the FTC building, Korangi Road, and Khayaban-e-Ittehad starting at Malir Cantt check post 6. Also though it just costs Rs. 50, this bus is special in that it even travels to the Jinnah International Airport.

Dorito Pie? Is This New TikTok Snack A Hit Or A Miss?

Doritos have been around in the chips kingdom for a long time. It is safe to say that they are at a higher position in the chips hierarchy as well. Everyone loves Doritos. People have been eating Doritos in all ways possible. Some eat it with different dips, some eat it in a nacho salad, and some have even been using it to coat their chicken breasts by crushing them and turning them into crumbs. There have been Dorito sandwiches, pizzas, tacos, you get the point.

Recently, there has been an addition to the improvisations list. TikTok has introduced to the public, Dorito Pie. The ideal weeknight comfort food might be this crunchy TikTok fad. Is there a specific technique to consume a Dorito? Without a doubt. Although Frito pies and walking tacos were the forerunners of Dorito pies, many people believe the latter to be superior to the former. Because there are countless varieties that are affordable and simple to create, Dorito pies, baked casserole-style combinations of items like Doritos chips, seasoned taco meat, and shredded cheese, are conquering TikTok by storm.

What Even Is Dorito Pie?

“A cousin to both the hot dish and the casserole,” according to recipe author Ben Myhre of Ramshackle Pantry, is how he describes Dorito pie. Although there is no one approved method of preparation for the meal and no standard components, other than Doritos and ground beef. Food scientist, chef, and founder of Robust Kitchen Michael Murdy refer to Dorito pie as an “American classic.” One of the primary reasons Dorito pies have become so well-liked is their extreme adaptability to audience size, taste preferences, and financial constraints. On TikTok alone, videos depicting variations of the dish have received more than four billion views.

How To Make It?

The attractiveness of walking tacos, with the exception that you “don’t stuff everything into a compact bag” and you “can eat it with a fork or your hands,” is what we believe is one of the reasons Dorito pies have grown to be so well-liked. The fact that it’s delicious and easy to make adds to the Dorito pie’s popularity. Before adding the Doritos and toppings, all that is really required is to cook and season the ground beef.

Netflix Releases Teaser Of ‘Berlin’ Money Heist

Source: OutLouD

A new trailer for Berlin, Netflix’s upcoming Money Heist spinoff drama, teases a fresh plot featuring a high-stakes diamond heist and discloses the show’s premiere date. Money Heist, created by Lex Pina, debuted on Netflix in 2017 and instantly became a significant hit for the streaming service. Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, a spinoff of the famous Spanish-language show, was launched last year. Now, Berlin, a spinoff based on the original show’s character of the same name, is planned to expand the series’ universe even further.

Following a quick glimpse of Berlin’s new ensemble last autumn, Netflix has today released another peek at the second impending spinoff.

What does the teaser reveal?

The brief teaser shows Pedro Alonso, who last appeared as Berlin, alias Andres de Fonolloso, in Money Robbery season 5, back in motion preparing a fresh heist. The trailer implies that Berlin will be pulling out a meticulously planned jewel robbery in “the city of love,” and that a mysterious woman may play an important role in the plot. The trailer also says that the show would be released in December of this year.

Berlin gave his life during Season 2 of Money Heist, but the character was so popular that he reappeared in Seasons 3–5 in different flashback scenes. Because the character is officially deceased during the present timeframe of the main program, Berlin will function as a prequel, charting a huge robbery that he performs before meeting the Professor (lvaro Morte), Denver (Jaime Lorente), Tokyo (rsula Corberó), and the rest of the gang. The usage of the phrase “city of love” by Netflix appears to imply that Paris will be a major background for Berlin’s grand diamond robbery.

Love, it appears, will play a significant part in Berlin. Pina, who also created Berlin, recently stated that the program will be “a journey through the character’s golden period, when he stole across Europe insane in love.” He also hinted that the impending spinoff will be shockingly hilarious, a contrast from the mother-ship series’ normally more somber tone.

In addition to Alonso, the Money Heist spinoff will have an outstanding ensemble of new characters, including Marcel Gonzalez, Miko Jarry, Tristán Ulloa, Michelle Jenner, Julio Pea, and Begoa Vargas. It’s unknown whether any fan-favorite characters from the original show will return, but several recognised faces are most likely going to appear. As the premiere date approaches, Netflix is likely to disclose additional details about Berlin, including a full-length trailer.

Who will Star in the prequel?

Along with Alonso, who will reprise his character from the original show, Michelle Jenner will play Keila, Begoa Vargas will play Cameron, Julio Pea will play Roi, Tristán Ulloa will play Damián, and Joel Sánchez will play Bruce. There is a potential that we will see additional original series stars, but that remains to be seen. Pina, David Oliva, David Barrocal, and Esther Martinez Lobato co-wrote the series.

Google Bard AI Loses $100 Billion After Giving Wrong Answer

According to the blog post, the AI-powered solution engine Bard uses online data to create new, high-quality replies. In short, it will provide in-depth, conversational, and essay-style responses, much like ChatGPT provides presently. According to the blog post, a user may ask Bard to explain new findings from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to a 9-year-old, or learn more about the finest strikers in football right now, and then get workouts to improve their talents.

Google AI chatbot Bard sends shares plummeting after it gives wrong answer | Google | The Guardian
Source: The Guardian

What is the frenzy all about?

The internet behemoth appears to be providing an incorrect response. An advertisement for their latest AI bot showed it answering a question poorly. Alphabet shares fell more than 7% on Wednesday, erasing $100 billion (£82 billion) from the company’s market worth. In the marketing for the bot, known as Bard, which was shared on Twitter on Monday, the bot was asked what to tell a nine-year-old about James Webb Space Telescope discoveries.

It responded that the telescope was the first to take images of a planet outside the Earth’s solar system, when in reality the European Very Large Telescope did so in 2004 – a mistake promptly corrected by scientists on Twitter. Why didn’t you double-check this example before publishing it? Newcastle University colleague Chris Harrison responded to the tweet. Investors were also unimpressed by the company’s presentation on its aspirations to incorporate artificial intelligence into its goods.

Since late last year, when Microsoft-backed OpenAI revealed new ChatGPT software, Google has been under fire. It immediately became a viral sensation because to its ability to pass business school exams, compose song lyrics, and answer other questions. Microsoft said this week that a new version of its Bing search engine, which has trailed behind Google for years, will make use of ChatGPT technology in a more advanced form.

However, Chatbot AI systems pose hazards to organizations due to inherent biases in their algorithms, which can distort findings, sexualize photographs, or even plagiarize, as users test the service discovered. Microsoft, for example, launched a Twitter chatbot in 2016 that swiftly began creating racist comments before being shut down. Furthermore, an AI utilized by the news site CNET was discovered to create factually wrong or plagiarized pieces.

The crumbling support of investors?

Though investors have supported the artificial intelligence drive, some have warned that pushing out the technology increases the danger of mistakes or improperly distorted outcomes, as well as plagiarism difficulties.

According to a Google spokeswoman, the incident underlined the need of a thorough testing methodology, which we’re launching this week with our Trusted Tester program. “We’ll combine external input with our own internal testing to ensure Bard’s replies match a high standard for quality, safety, and roundedness in real-world information,” they explained.

Here’s Why Luxury Brands Don’t Sell To The Rich

Here's Why Luxury Brands Don't Sell To The Rich

You might think that luxury brands are designed for and marketed to the wealthy. But that’s not always the case. There are a lot of reasons why luxury brands steer clear of high-earners.

Some people might think it’s because luxury brands don’t want to tarnish their image by being associated with the uber-rich. But there are a few other reasons why luxury brands avoid selling to the rich.

Target Audience For Luxury Brands

At its core, a luxury brand represents high-quality, exceptional products and services. It’s exclusive—not everyone can afford it. And it’s aspirational, meaning that people aspire to own or experience its products.

The thing about the rich is that they’re not the target market for luxury brands. Selling to the rich can do more harm than good. Why? For one, the rich are already buying luxury products. So as a luxury brand, you’re not offering anything new or different to them. Second, when you sell to the rich, you risk alienating your other customers—the ones who can’t afford your products but still aspire to own them. Ultimately, it’s about maintaining exclusivity and protecting the brand’s image and value.

Exclusivity Is The Key?

You might think that selling to the wealthy would be the key to success, but the case is quite the opposite. Luxury brands make the majority of their profits from sales to the middle class and those who aspired to be in the middle class. By pricing their products just out of the reach of most consumers, luxury brands create an air of exclusivity. And by associating their products with high-class lifestyles and aspirations, they give consumers a reason to want them even if they can’t afford them.

It’s no secret that luxury brands take a different approach when it comes to marketing and selling their products. They often focus their efforts on aspirational marketing, which is the idea of targeting customers who want to be like the people who can afford to buy luxury products.

Actress Hira Khan Gets Bashed For Proposing Her ‘Bae’

With love being too much in the air and celebrities getting married all over the world, another marriage proposal video has made its way to the internet. Hira Khan is one of the most well-known actresses in recent years. Hira, who is attractive and talented, entered the media sector in 2017 when she participated in Miss Veet Pakistan, a modeling competition where hopefuls from all over Pakistan get the opportunity to try their hand at modeling in the nation.

Rumors of Hira Khan and Arslan Khan dating have been around for quite some time. Arslan Khan is a Pakistani actor and model who began his modeling career in 2012. He has been seen in many photoshoots for top Pakistani brands.

Recently, Hira Khan posted a video on Instagram where she shows her grand marriage proposal for her bae and “best friend” Arslan. The video starts with the famous dialogue of Shahrukh Khan- “Pyaar dosti hai. Agar woh meri sab se achi dost nahi ban sakti tou main usse kabhi pyaar kar hi nahi sakta kyun ke dosti bina tou pyaar hota hi nahi.” She then follows with a cute little dance routine and eventually gets down on one knee and asks Arslan to “give her a chance” so she can make him feel as happy as he makes her feel.  Here is the video for you to watch.

The video was very cute and wholesome, but as usual, fans had mixed reviews. Some were very happy and teary-eyed because of the romance. Some supported Hira Khan since she was breaking the stereotype that a guy should always propose. And some did not like the video or the gesture at all. They thought of it to be cringy and just a setup for going “viral”.

Many celebrity friends of Hira have congratulated them and fans are already love-struck. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments below.

ChatGPT vs Bard: This AI Rivalry Has Got Everyone Talking

As the rush to employ artificial intelligence more widely kicks into high gear, Google on Monday introduced Bard – its own AI chatbot that is comparable to ChatGPT. Google CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted on Monday that Bard “seeks to integrate the depth of the world’s information with the strength, intelligence, and creativity of our massive language models.” It uses data from the internet to deliver original, excellent replies.

Google steps into AI revolution

Google’s reaction to the rising interest in AI chatbots is Bard, which it released in November. ChatGPT has millions of users intrigued with its human-like responses and simple UI. The next stage in how humans engage with AI and technology is represented by Bard, ChatGPT, and another AI chatbot created by China’s Baidu, which has the potential to transform everything from search to education to employment. Microsoft will likely discuss its own integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its Bing search engine at a presentation on Tuesday.

On Monday, Google praised its own method. Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications, or LaMDA, is the brains behind Bard. According to the corporation, its new AI will leverage data from the web to provide original answers to inquiries that are imaginative, in-depth, or occasionally both.

Select testers will have access to Bard starting on Monday, and then everyone else will have it in a few weeks. According to a blog post by CEO Sundar Pichai, Bard is built on a lightweight version of LaMDA that utilizes fewer computer resources, allowing it to grow to more individuals and deliver more input. In order to satisfy Google’s “high standard for quality, safety, and roundedness in real-world facts,” Pichai emphasized that input is essential.

Microsoft isn’t far away

Microsoft, a competitor of Google, won’t remain still. According to an invitation, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will make an announcement on “progress on a few intriguing initiatives” on Tuesday at a press conference held at the company’s headquarters. Details about Microsoft’s ambitions to incorporate ChatGPT into its technology may be revealed during this event.

Recent days have seen the appearance of screenshots allegedly demonstrating how Microsoft would incorporate ChatGPT into Bing. They mentioned a number of things, including the fact that it would be built on OpenAI’s GPT-4, a more recent language model than ChatGPT’s GPT-3.5. An inquiry for comment was not immediately answered by Microsoft.

DeepMind, a division of Google AI, is also collaborating. Demis Hassabis, the chief executive, revealed to Time that his business is thinking about testing the private beta version of Sparrow, an AI chatbot, in 2023.

In 2017, Google provided information about the transformers technology, and since then, it has been a staple of some of the most powerful AI systems available. In terms of public speed testing at least, Nvidia’s new H100 processor is the best in the business when it comes to AI acceleration. It now has special circuitry for accelerating transformers.

Google is proud to highlight its extensive AI knowledge. According to The New York Times, ChatGPT caused a “code red” emergency within Google and brought Larry Page and Sergey Brin back to active work.

Turkey-Syria Earthquake: Countries That Have Offered To Help

On February 6th 2023, Turkey and Syria witnessed their most catastrophic and almost apocalyptic natural disasters. Although the region that was severely damaged by Monday’s 7.8-magnitude earthquake and its aftershocks is accustomed to having strong tremors, it had been years since one this size had last struck.

What Happened?

The epicenter of the 11-mile-deep earthquake was in southern Turkey, close to Syria’s northern border. Since the first earthquake, the two nations have experienced several aftershocks. 13 major aftershocks with a magnitude of at least 5 were felt in the first 11 hours in the area. Nine hours after the initial jolt, Turkey was rocked by a second, magnitude 7.5 earthquake.

The earthquake was strong, especially for a land-based earthquake. Additionally, the earthquake occurred close to densely inhabited areas. The center is close to the provincial capital of Turkey, Gaziantep. Following the earthquake, thousands of structures reportedly fell, according to officials. Included in them were “pancake” collapses, in which a building’s higher levels fall directly onto its lower floors.

Why Was This Earthquake So Devastating?

Turkey and Syria, both regions are prone to earthquakes since they lie near fault lines but this earthquake was particularly extremely destructive. Two tectonic plates glide past one another horizontally in a strike-slip earthquake, according to researchers. These fragments collide near the fault lines, where the plates often grind slowly against one another. They can, however, snap past one other swiftly and release a lot of energy if there is enough tension. The entire country of Turkey is being pushed aside as a tectonic plate from the Arabian Peninsula enters the Eurasian Plate from the north.

Severe Casualties

The most recent death toll following the devastating earthquake on Monday is 8,364. As of Wednesday morning, 2,470 people had died in Syria, according to AFP. Turkey has seen at least 5,894 fatalities, bringing the total number of fatalities in both nations to 7,926. The White Helmets in Syria predicted a “significant” rise in the number of victims.          According to Turkish vice president Fuat Oktay, more than 8,000 people have so far been rescued from the rubble in Turkey. Approximately 380,000 people have sought sanctuary in hotels or government shelters, while others have gathered in malls, stadiums, mosques, and community centers. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proclaimed a disaster zone in the ten provinces impacted by the earthquakes on Tuesday afternoon, establishing a three-month state of emergency in the area.

The disaster management organization in Turkey reported receiving 11,342 reports of collapsed buildings, of which 5,775 were verified. According to the ministry of transportation and infrastructure, 3,400 people found refuge in trains that were being used as temporary housing over the course of the night. Authorities fear that as rescuers sift through tangles of metal and concrete in search of survivors in an area worst affected by Syria’s 12-year civil war and refugee crisis, the death toll will continue to rise.

Countries That Have Offered Help During National Emergency

Are Man-Made Earthquakes Possible? Here’s What You Need To Know

Are Man-Made Earthquakes Possible? Here's What You Need To Knowv

Scientists have long known that humans may trigger earthquakes, particularly when we tamper with subterranean faults. The occurrence of human-induced earthquakes that happen during mining and the exploitation of natural resources like potash, coal, crude oil, or natural gas has at least been known to humanity for generations. So, yes man-made earthquakes are possible.

Asphalt road collapsed and cracks in the roadside

A few instances of induced seismicity brought on by deep geothermal projects and gas production have occurred in recent decades. The 6.5-magnitude earthquake that occurred at the Koyna Dam in western India was the greatest incident yet to be unmistakably identified as an artificial earthquake.

Kahramanmaras Earthquake

In the southeast of Turkey, close to the Syrian border, a very large earthquake occurred. Seismometer data, which measures the amount of ground shaking brought on by earthquake waves, indicate that this event, which occurred early on February 6, registered a magnitude of 7.8 on the moment magnitude scale. Seismic waves were detected by sensors all throughout the world, even as far away as the UK. You can watch them ripple through Europe.

The shaking caused by energy traveling outwards from the source or epicenter has already had terrible consequences for people living nearby. Many buildings have collapsed, at least 2000 to 3000 are thought to have died across the two countries, and there are reports of damage to gas pipelines leading to fires. A second very large earthquake of 7.5 magnitudes also occurred in central Turkey around lunchtime. However, the question remains if these earthquakes are natural or manmade. Many people think that this earthquake may be man-made.

Why The Earthquake May Be Man Made?

The Monday earthquake was caused by a phenomenon known as strike-slip faulting, in which two pieces of the earth’s crust passed each other horizontally over a fault line.

The earthquake was predicted by a Dutch seismology researcher Frank Hoogerbeets. Many people are curious as to how he predicted the disaster just three days before. Unfortunately, many people did not listen to him and now are facing dire consequences.

HARP Technology

Other videos also show “proof” that earthquakes may be manmade with the help of HARP technology. The High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program, or HAARP, is a scientific endeavor aimed at studying the properties and behavior of the ionosphere. Here are tweets that people who support the HARP theory.

Natural or Man-made? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Today in Karachi, February 7, 2023, there is no denying that our lives are becoming more and more reliant on the time we spend online, from how we stay in touch with loved ones to where we learn and find enjoyment. Because a lot of that occurs right here on YouTube, it is our mission to invest in the tools, features, and solutions that will make the online activity safer for users of all ages.

Here is the most recent YouTube management advice in honor of Safer Internet Day, covering anything from controls and family-friendly resources to mindfulness modifications and data privacy measures.

1. Use digital well-being tools to help you be more careful of how you spend your online time.

We’ve launched a number of tools over the past several years to help you manage your time on YouTube, such as sleep reminders, time viewed counters, and controls to customize autoplay settings since we’re all striving to be more mindful of how we spend our time online. A good reminder to check your settings and make sure they still work for you is Safer Internet Day.

2. Regularly review and manage your data.

Regularly reviewing your YouTube data provides you more control over your viewing experience and contributes to privacy protection. Through the “Your Data in YouTube” tab, YouTube makes it simple for you to view your data. An overview of your content and activity data may be found there, along with settings and controls for managing your data and details on how it’s used to enhance your YouTube experience.

You can check your watch and search histories to help YouTube and other Google services provide you with more relevant recommendations. You can also peruse or remove your YouTube activity, including comments you’ve made on videos and channels you’ve subscribed to.

3. Extend child and adolescent protections by logging into YouTube Kids and YouTube on compatible devices.

Every family has a unique connection with media and technology. We provide options for parents and other carers to help them choose what is best for their children, and we are also investing in new strategies to make these experiences better. A fast tip to make YouTube operate better for families is to sign in to YouTube Kids and YouTube on compatible devices. This is why:

• YouTube Kids allows logged-in parents the power to tailor the experience to their young children’s unique requirements. They may create a profile with unique settings for each child, restrict or approve particular channels and videos, and even choose to share YouTube material with their kids directly through YouTube Kids.

• Families with tweens who own their own smartphones or who desire their own accounts might benefit from our supervised YouTube experience. The support for these supervised accounts has been expanded over the past year to allow tweens to log in on gaming consoles, smart TVs, the YouTube Music app, and other devices. This enables us to honor a parent’s selection of content settings across all home devices that their tween uses to consume content.

4. Use our dedicated YouTube Kids playlist to engage with kids and learn about online safety.

The safety and long-term success of today’s children depend on continual education because they will utilize technology for the rest of their lives. You may see the “Build a Safer Internet” playlist when you open the YouTube Kids app because we just published it today.
