Bionic Film’s Surf Excel Advertisement Wins Hearts Across the Sub-continent

surf excel - brandsynario

Visit any of the big Pakistan marketing forums on social media, and you will read on common complaint: the quality of advertisements that are being made locally.

Though the recently released Surf Excel Ramzan advertisement was shot by a Pakistani production house Bionic Films and it has been going viral all over the subcontinent. It has been shot wonderfully and hits all the right notes at this time of global crisis.

What’s more, it was shot in Pakistan. The first time in a number of years, the South Asia Pacific Team of Unilever decided to shoot their Ramzan Commercial in Pakistan. Given the love and appreciation it has garnered across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and the UAE, this might be the start of something big.

The credit, of course, goes to Bionic Films. Given the circumstances, things would have been extremely challenging. A misstep here and a lot of the blame would have gone towards the brand. However, their team followed all the SOPs for the shoot of the commercial. Locations were disinfected before and after the shoot. Team Bionic clearly rose to the challenge.

Bionic Film’s Surf Excel Advertisement Wins Hearts Across the Sub-continent

Technically sound and shot in a slick manner, what connects and resonates most is the emotion behind it. Surf Excel is a household name. So the more comfortable option would have been to focus on the brand only. Given the circumstances, it would have been acceptable to make a run of the mill advertisement. However, the creative team decided to take a more personal approach. In these testing times, everyone around us needs to feel that connection.

While speaking to Salman Farooqi, the person spearheading Bionic – we asked him how was it possible for them to make this happen? He said, “Fortune favours the brave… When the client trusts you, respect you as their business partner and not only just as a production house, and work with you as one team, then you take the challenge for them no matter what the circumstances are and you achieve what seems to be impossible…”

While the concept is simple, it is highly poignant. Ramzan is all about patience, sacrifice, and togetherness. These values are shared across cultures and nations. Hence it is no surprise that it has worked for a diverse audience. A message of hope is the need of the hour.

3 Ways How COVID-19 Is Affecting Digital Advertising

Source: Forbes

The lockdowns due to COVID-19 have caused a substantial economic impact. The only saving grace during this pandemic is the availability of the internet and the increased connectivity, which has helped various businesses to remain operating despite not being able to open up their shops physically. Although the coronavirus is a considerable threat to businesses and jobs, digital marketing has leaped forward as a result of it.

Digital marketing has become the number one medium to reach consumers. Billboards that are usually the most popular form of advertising are now standing amid empty streets. Advertising promotional events are not being held, and neither are people buying magazines or newspapers. Digital advertising is right now the quickest and best way to reach out to consumers as people are always online. Moreover, the chances of your social media ad being seen are much higher than ever before.

Source: Adespresso

However, even after digital being the medium in focus right now, a report by PG Media Brands Magna highlights the impact COVID-19 will have on the digital advertising industry.

The report suggests,

“Digital media ad formats will be the least impacted due to the acceleration of digital media usage and eCommerce during the outbreak. However, global digital advertising is likely to slow down to single-digit growth this year, compared to +20% per year in recent years.”

Here’s how digital advertising is being impacted due to COVID-19

1. Decreased Spending on Digital Ads

Even though people are always online, the spending power has come to a halt. More so, impulse buying is no longer an option for many. Due to this, many businesses are thinking about spending on online ads as their target market may see the ads. However, there could very well be no outcome in the form of a sale from it.

Source: The Economic Times

2. Businesses are focused on Engagement instead of Conversion

Digital spending has always been driven by companies looking to convert buyers towards their products or services. However, during times like this, where everyone is just buying the basics, firms have started building campaigns.

These campaigns are aimed at engaging with its customers and to create awareness for their brand simply. This may not prove to be beneficial now, but it is in the long run as there are more people online now than ever, and a good engagement between consumers and brands would lead to a conversion (sales) later on.

3. Lack of Competition Between Brands

There are fewer brands spending on advertisements; many campaigns have been called off-air; some have been halted before being released and may stay that way until things start getting back to normal.

How do you think COVID-19 has impacted digital advertising? Let us know in the comments below.

Saadat Hasan Manto is being celebrated today with a Google doodle on his 108th birthday. He was born into a middle-class Muslim family in Ludhiana in 1912. In his early 20s, he translated Russian, French, and English short stories into Urdu, and through studying the work of western writers, he learned the art of short story writing, which he usually wrote in one sitting.

Manto’s short stories often exposed the bitter truth of a society that was at its worst after partition. His short stories highlight the victims who were faced with brutalities during and after the partition period.

Here are 5 of Saadat Hasan Manto’s Best Short Stories You Definitely Should Read:

1. Mishtake

This was initially titled ‘Sorry’ in Urdu and is only one paragraph long. This story is about a murder committed and highlights how insensitive and irrational people were during that time.

2. The Assignment

This is a saga of love, lust, hatred, meaningless violence, and cruelty that is all carried out in the name of religion. The Assignment is one of Manto’s darkest stories ever, and it shows us an insight to the wretched paradox of religious hatred and sentiments.

3. Kaali Shalwar

This is a story that revolves around a small-town prostitute called Sultana and her time in Bombay. It is a heartwrenching saga of identities, disillusionment, and relationships. An Indian film by Fareeda Mehta, based on this story, was also released in 2002.

4. Thanda Gosht

This is a haunting saga that will send shivers down your spine; it is a story of a Sikh man who, on his last breath, confesses to having taken advantage of a dead Muslim woman. Hence, the name of the story, cold flesh (Thanda Gosht). Pakistani movie released in 2015 by Sarmad Khoosat was also based on this short story by Manto.

5. Toba Tek Singh

This short story is named after a district of Punjab. It is a satirical take on the effect of partition on commoners. Manto describes the partition as a political massacre that ravished the lives of millions. The last line of the story is exceptionally thought-provoking and undoubtedly one of the best endings in Indian English Literature.

Land Rover’s Latest Ad

The automotive industry in Pakistan and all around the world has taken a HUGE hit. Yet, despite what is going on, auto giants want their customers and their families to indulge themselves at home.

With these uncertain times upon us, and given that social-distancing has become extremely crucial, and not to forget that we are now confined in between 4 walls, driving has become unnecessary.

But just because you can’t discover the great outdoors, that doesn’t mean you can’t explore the great indoors as well! At least that’s what Land Rover wants you to know with its latest campaign #StayInStayAdventurous.

Land Rover gives the message that ‘until it’s safer for us to go into the future, let’s explore the great indoors.’

As the ad starts, we see a couple of toys on the windowpane with a soft melody in the back. We then see a child looking out the window. Without any dialogues or any action, we can already feel how much that little girl wants to go outside and play.

She then picks up a toy car and decides to take it for a spin. The little girl then starts her adventure as she moves the rover from in between the exotic animals waiting for her on the safari.

She then strolls through the wet and rigid surface with ease and blasts past the high mountains of flour in the kitchen, making her way to her destination by crossing the harsh terrain of the comforter!

Last but not least, her journey comes to an end! Take a look at this creative ad below!

The credit behind the creation of this ad goes to Trevor Hart and Eleanor Harpur of Hart Studio. With the novel coronavirus waiting for us outside our doors, many individuals are staying indoors, and brands are encouraging them to do so with their latest campaigns.

Impact Of COVID-19 On Ride Hailing Services In Pakistan

The economic impact of COVID-19 is creating more waves in the country than the actual number of cases themselves as provincial governments continue to implement lockdown protocols. The Government of Sindh seems to be leading the way in pushing for more stringent measures to safeguard public health. Anchor Kamran Khan recently spoke on the plight of the transport sector as one that has been deeply impacted by the crises, specifically ride-hailing services.

Should online ride-hailing services, Careem and Uber be allowed to operate?

First online ride-hailing services, including Careem and Uber, are operational in major cities of the country, including the federal capital, with strict SOPs in place. However, the Sindh Government has not yet allowed these services to operate in the biggest city in the country, Karachi.

The companies recently wrote to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to request the resumption of their services to help generate economic activity. At the same time, safeguard public health interests through the use of personal protective equipment by customers and drivers.

Impact of covid 19 on ride hailing services in Pakistan

However, their request seems to have fallen on deaf ears, as a recent notification on 10th May by the Government of Sindh has disallowed all public transport in the province.

After both companies closed their operations throughout the city post lockdown orders of the Sindh government, the staff of essential services, especially paramedical staff, many of whom do not have personal vehicles, are now feeling uncertain about how to commute to hospitals and finding it challenging to travel.

Some influencers also took social media to express their concerns.

While it can be debated that reopening public transportation even with proper SOPs might be challenging to implement, the opening of online taxi services will help not only paramedical staff travel to and from hospitals but also create much-needed income for their drivers who earn their wages daily, while at the same time maintaining social distancing protocols in their vehicles.

Sindh Reports Groundbreaking Passive Immunisation Therapy Trial For COVID-19 Patients

Groundbreaking Passive Immunisation Therapy Trial

The province of Sindh has reported its first-ever successful recovery of a COVID-19 patient using the passive immunization therapy method.

Dr. Tahir Shamsi, the head of the National Institute of Blood Disease & Bone Marrow Transplantation (NIBD & BMT) and hematologist shared:

“The first patient to recover from the coronavirus with the use of passive immunization therapy has been sent home,”

Passive Immunisation Therapy Trial

Dr. Shamsi shared that the patient was administered plasma on 30th April and had wholly recovered on 8th May. The second test for Coronavirus that was conducted on the patient came back negative.

Reportedly, over 12 patients are currently being treated using passive immunization therapy, according to the doctor.

The Sindh government had earlier approved the passive immunization therapy process for patients towards the end of March to treat patients across the province.

This entire process has been operating under the supervision of Dr. Shamsi. The plasma technique may very well be applicable for other provinces as a part of a detailed strategy and plan to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic in hospitals across Pakistan.

According to the doctor:

“Under this technique, blood plasma from a healthy person is extracted and injected into the blood of a patient suffering from the Coronavirus.

After the transfer, the injected plasma generates anti-bodies in the immune system of the patient suffering from the Coronavirus. These anti-bodies eventually fight off the virus,”

What is Passive Immunisation Therapy?

Health experts say that this therapy is used to treat the high-risk infection with minimal time for the human body to recover by using its immune response system, or the ability to reduce the symptoms of the ongoing disease.

No vaccine has yet been approved by the authorities and has been recognized as the COVID-19 cure. Several countries are already working towards the treatment with scientists and researchers working around the clock along the medical frontline.

Buying a Car Online: Tips and Checklist

Cars-online

Buying a car online is regular practice now in Pakistan, and thanks to the online portals like Carmudi and Pak Wheels, the car-buying process has become a relatively more comfortable and time-saving process. However, buying a car can surely be tricky for those who are not familiar with the dos and don’ts of online car purchasing.

Here, we have compiled a list of some essential tips and checklist for online car buyers that they must bear in mind before finalizing an online car dealership.

1. Focused Selection

First and foremost- make a wise selection among the full range of available car options, keeping in mind your purchase capacity and other suitability factors such as the seating space, fuel capacity, technical innovation, mileage, etc. Buyers must have a detailed look at the car reviews that are already available online to make an informed purchase.

Buying a Car Online

2. Look for the Best Comparative Price

Check and compare the best available prices in the online market for the desired car. Compare these prices along with the year of import and current car condition and plan accordingly.

Best Price Comparison.Brandsynario

3. Contact the Seller and Inquire about the car completely

Once your selection process is over, the next phase is contacting the seller and inquiring about the specific car details. Follow the checklist below when doing so:

Contact Seller.Brandsynario

1. Mileage and Total Running

Buyers must ask the seller about the mileage of the car and its total running; keep in mind that these two factors are entirely different from each other. Running is the total distance traveled by car, while mileage is the number of miles traveled in one fuel liter.

You must note that old cars have higher mileage than used cars.

Mileage.Brandsynario

2. Number of Previous Owners

This is the most critical question to be asked by the buyer since the actual car condition can then easily be judged. Make sure that the seller is registered and is the real owner of the car. Also, make sure the registration documents are not tampered with. Always try to purchase a vehicle with a single owner.

3. Genuine Spare Parts

Cross-checking for genuine spare parts is essential, too; repeatedly ask this question from sellers until the answer is provided. The car may have been re-furnished, and sellers can deceive you in this area if you don’t show enough concern. The parts checklist includes engine, seats, and players in the interior to the brakes, tires, windshields, windows, and tires in the exterior.

Genuine Parts.Brandsynario

4. Physical Inspection

The fourth stage is a physical inspection of the car. Examine the physical condition of the vehicle, keeping in mind the following pointers:

1. Engine and Chassis Number

Counter check this number with the documents of the car you are willing to purchase; this clarifies when the car was imported and whether the engine or other parts are genuine.

Engine and Chassis number

2. Funder /Bumpers, Windshields / Windows, Body Line

Check out for visible cracks and repairs, and it will become clear whether the car has met an accident in the past. Always check these features during the day in sunlight so that the invisible marks and scratches become visible to the naked eye.

3. Panel and Door Gaps

The panels must be smooth and crack-free while door gaps should be even from top to bottom.

Panel and Door Gap.Brandsynario

4. Final Decision & Bargain for Price

After the inspection, it is time to make the final buying decision. You must bargain with the seller for the minimum price and make sure you acquire all the car documents once you finalize the purchase decision.

Google’s Read-Along App Helps Children Learn Better

Google's Read-Along App
Source/ Insider

The best news we heard today was how Google had become a star with introducing their Read-Along Android App. This is perfect for children sitting at home during COVID-19 since it’ll help them learn.

What is Google’s Read-Along App?

Google’s Read-Along Android app helps teach reading skills to elementary school students, is now available in early access in 180 countries, the firm announced today. Read-Along uses Google’s text-to-speech, and speech recognition technology to provide feedback as kids work through the app’s reading prompts and games.

The app supports nine languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi. Read-Along first launched as an app called Bolo in India in March 2019.

Kids are guided through Reading-Along with the help of an “in-app reading buddy” named Diya. “She gives the kids positive and reinforcing feedback along the way, just as a parent or teacher would,” according to Google. “Children can also tap Diya at any time for help pronouncing a word or a sentence.”

Have a look at how the Read-Along App looks like

Why does the app seem promising?

As children progress in the app, they’re presented with mini word games and earn in-app prizes as they improve their skills.

Google says the app was built with children’s privacy in mind and can work without either Wi-Fi or data. The voice data is analyzed in real-time on the device and is not synced, stored, or analyzed on Google’s servers. The company also stresses that it’s not using a voice sample from the kids to make the product better.

The app doesn’t include advertising or in-app purchases, either. Parents can opt to connect to the internet if they want to download new stories, but there isn’t a charge.

Here’s another image of how the app looks like:

Google Read-Along App
Time24.news

Read-Along offers around 500 stories, and the catalog is continually expanded with new books.

Since its debut as Bolo in March 2019, Google says feedback from parents was encouraging, prompting it to bring the app to new markets. While in India, “Bolo” is broadly understood to mean “speak,” Google rebranded the app to Read Along to resonate with parents and children around the world. The app has also been updated with an enhanced library, new games, and other user interface improvements since launch.

The new Read-Along app is now globally available, except in the Philippines, Colombia, and Denmark and offers stories in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The app is a free download on Google Play for children ages five and up.

Anoushay Ashraf Reveals The Secret Of Her Flawless Skin

Anoushay shares her skincare routine

It may seem frivolous to talk about skincare right now, but practicing self-care is more important than ever: it’s familiar, it’s calming, and it’s a reminder not to give up on ourselves. As we began to work from home, we were curious about how spending so much time indoors could affect our lives, including our skin and skincare routines.

There are chances you are exposed to less harsh sun and use less makeup – or even no makeup at all, which is good for your skin. However, you might also expose yourself to more air conditioning, eat less healthy food, and consume more soft drinks to cope with the quarantine blues.

Since everyone is in a lockdown, all the Pakistani celebrities are sharing their hidden talent on social media frequently. However, this one celeb decided to talk about her skincare routine and blessed our feeds with her beautiful face. So, take notes, guys.

Pakistani VJ and actress Anoushy Ashraf recently took to social media to open up about her skincare routine.

The starlet shared on Instagram that she gets a lot of questions about her skincare regimen, and finally, she revealed her secrets.

Anoushey Ashraf stated that she sleeps plenty, uses sunblock, and she’s mostly staying these days indoors with no makeup, which has given her skin a chance to recuperate.

She went onto add, “Your compliments have encouraged me to share some #zeromakeup #zerofilter selfies. The lighting in these pictures help. May have gotten hydra facial maxxxxx 2-3 times in my life.”

Here’s Anoushay flaunting her flawless skin

View this post on Instagram

For all those ladies who’ve continuously asked about my skincare regimen. 1) I sleep a lot 2) I use sunblock 3) Ive been mostly indoors with no makeup so I think my skin has had a chance to recuperate. Your compliments have encouraged me to share some #zeromakeup #zerofilter selfies. The lighting in these pictures definitely help. May have gotten hydra facial maxxxxx 2-3 times in my life. I’m just grateful because I literally do nothing to keep my skin alive and kicking. At my age, it’s imperative. I’m just lazy and lucky. No lies. I occasionally pop an ‘Alpha lipoic Acid’ supplement to cleanse my liver and good skin could be a potential side effect. Im sorry I have no totkas or any other info on the matter. 🙁 I just got lucky. Could possibly be my genes. Maybe also the fact that I haven’t vacationed by the beach in a while…. I have no clue! However; please sleep well, have tons of water and use sunblock that suits your skin type regularly. #skincare #skincareroutine #thankful

A post shared by Anoushey Ashraf (@anousheyashraf) on

“I’m just grateful because I do nothing to keep my skin alive and kicking. At my age, it’s imperative. I’m just lazy and lucky. No lies. I occasionally pop an ‘Alpha-lipoic Acid’ supplement to cleanse my liver, and good skin could be a potential side effect,” she further said.

The starlet said she is probably lucky due to her genes and haven’t vacationed by the beach in a while, maybe that helps her skin. She also advised her fans who want to achieve flawless skin to sleep well, have tons of water, and use a sunblock that suits their skin type regularly.

Importance of skincare

You must not take your skincare lightly and continue looking after yourself by getting enough sleep, working out, having a balanced diet, using the right quality products to avoid any adverse effects, and of course, wash your hands.

This Heartwarming Ad Perfectly Depicts The Efforts Of Our Frontline Heroes

Source: Faisal Qureshi, Facebook

The coronavirus pandemic has retreated the world indoors. However, there are a few of us who have to go out every single day and face the novel coronavirus head-on. These people are our national heroes, a.k.a our frontline workers which include, doctors, nurses, paramedics, and law enforcement officials; they are out there risking their lives in this battle against the deadly virus.

A tribute video by comedian and actor Faisal Qureshi under the banner of Game Over Productions, titled, Salamat Raho has been making the rounds over social media since it was released yesterday. The beautiful video is a public service message that pays tribute to our frontline workers, the Police. Law enforcement officials work non-stop to stop people from moving unnecessarily outdoors during the lockdown. They are out there in an uncontrolled environment facing the coronavirus bravely while performing their duty.

This video will bring you to tears after watching the bond that the policeman and his mother share. When we come to think about it, parents of frontline workers must be worried sick for their child who is out on the battlefield fighting the enemy while the rest of us remain indoors safely.

The policeman says, “Sub Ghar chalay jaengay toh mai bhi ajaunga” this was a message to the general public to remain at home; it is only when people come out on the streets that these policemen have to stay on duty for longer hours.

It was a great initiative to pay tribute to the Police in this video as they are on duty day and night, standing out in the scorching heat wearing a full body kit and armor. The video has received immense love and appreciation from Pakistani netizens and has been viewed more than 200,000 times within the day.

5 Ways How You Can Take Care of Your Parked Car!

Your car is one of the most valuable assets you own. However, if it is kept stagnant for too long, it starts to create problems for the owner.

Given that Pakistan is now on lockdown, and there are chances that the lockdown period may exceed if the situation gets worse, the cars will remain stationary.

Idle and unused cars need care and attention. If you are a car owner who has not used the vehicle in days, here are six steps you can take to ensure it remains in good condition.

How to Take Care of Your Parked Car

1. Park Indoors or in Shaded Areas

Cars need to be protected from the dust and sun. The harsh rays of the sun cause damage to the car’s exterior (paint job and body), whereas the dust particles will start to buildup in your car’s engines and pipes and will cause trouble. It is always a good idea to park your vehicles in a garage or under some shade. If you do not have both options, you can simply cover it with a car-cover.

2. Park Away from Nests and Dumps

If you are parking your car outside, be sure to park away from bird nests and dumps. Birds love doing their business anywhere they seem fit, be it on people or cars. When building nests, birds often drop twigs and other objects as well, which can damage your vehicle.

Moreover, parking your car near a dump can allow rodents to find their way into the car engine. These critters love dark and damp areas and can chew through the wires and other essential parts of your car.

3. Take it out for a Spin

We are not encouraging you to leave your house. Still, after taking all the right precautions, which means wearing masks, gloves, covering your skin, etc., you can make your car around the block for a quick spin so that the engine heats up and can get rid of condensation which has built up inside. Taking short drives keeps the engine and other parts lubricated, making sure they work correctly. You just need to do this once every three days or so for roughly 3-5 minutes.

4. Maintain the Condition of its Battery

Just like we are nothing without our brains, a car is not useful without its battery. Newer vehicles that might have been purchased just weeks ago have newer batteries. If these batteries are not used and maintained, they might need to be replaced. If you do not want to take your car outside for a drive, you can turn it on for a few minutes in your preferred parking spot to maintain proper fluid levels and prevent wire erosions.

5. Keep Your Car Clean & Disinfected

It is essential to keep your car clean from germs and bacteria as it will impact on your health as well as the health of your family. However, drivers make a common mistake of using any soap with water to wash their cars. This can lead to paint damage and eventually can cause the body to develop rust. This is why you should use proper care products which have been made explicitly for this purpose.

Top 2020 Entry-level Smartphones Under PKR 25,000

smartphones under 25000

We all strive to get the best among all smartphones under our budget.

We all love money, but we seek for the latest tech smartphone at the same time.

Most users afford entry-level phones, and it’s tough to decide which ones are the best, as there are many competitors, and they are all too good, and they all share similar hardware specs.

So let us put forth a few best and latest entry-level smartphones of 2020.

HUAWEI Y6s (PKR 20,899/-)

Huawei smartphones have always been synonymous with reliability. They have a smartphone in almost every price segment, and those have some of the best specifications in their given price range. Since the all-new HUAWEI Y6s hit the market, it quickly became Huawei’s bestseller in the USD 100/- to USD 150/- price segment.

It’s packed with a 13MP rear camera with HD video recording @1080p, 8MP front camera, capable of 1080p crystal clear video recording. The 6.09-inch Dewdrop display gives a great viewing experience.

It packs 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card. The big 3,020 mAh battery helps to get through the whole day of addictive smartphone users or gamers. EMUI 9.1 assists HUAWEI Y6s  to perform efficiently, avoiding lags and battery drainage at the sharpest resolution and brightest colors.

And as Pakistanis love shiny and elegant phones, HUAWEI Y6s also catches attention because of its stunning Orchid Blue and Starry Black color variants.

Samsung Galaxy A10s (PKR 19,999/-)

Galaxy A10

As you spend 19,999 and save 1 rupee on 20,000, you’re going to get a Samsung A10s 6.2 inch HD+ to display phone, and they named it Infinity-V display. Although other Samsung infinity displays are curved displays, we wonder why A10s’ exhibition is called infinity too.

It’s powered by a giant 4,000 mAh battery, 13MP & 2MP (depth) dual back camera, and 8 MP front camera. Samsung A10s comes with only 32 GB of internal storage. It’s expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card, but most users prefer more internal storage because expandable storage is usually expensive, and it slows down the phone. As far as performance is concerned, A10s has two variants, 2GB and 3GB.

OPPO A5s (PKR 20,999/-)

Oppo A5s

OPPO A5s is a beautiful 6.2-inch smartphone. Powered by long-lasting 4,230 mAh battery, A5s is backed by 3GB RAM, providing 32GB and 64GB storage options. OPPO A5s is loaded with 13MP+2MP back and 8MP front camera.

ColorOS 5.2 and Android 8.1 makes it an attractive device. Although it has 2GB, 3GB and 4GB RAM variants, many people came up with a lag issue on OPPO A5s in their gaming experience. It lacks fast charging, unlike every other latest smartphone. So even though specs are right, you can pretty much only enjoy selfies on OPPO A5s.

Vivo Y11 (PKR 22,999/-)

Vivo Y11

With the high price, Vivo Y11 comes with a 6.35 inch big IPS LCD screen and 5,000 mAh big battery. It also comes with 13MP+2MP back and 8MP front camera. It has 3GB RAM using Snapdragon 439.

Its 6.35-inch display provides convenience for multitasking, while the battery is big enough to power this big screen for a whole day. But this phone carries unsatisfied camera reviews, and some users complained about the noisy pictures.

All phones carry almost the same specs, but Vivo Y11 is the most expensive among these, only because of the bigger screen.

5 Ways Eid Will Be Different This Year Amid The Lockdown

The coronavirus pandemic has dampened the festive spirit that the holy month of Ramadan brings with it every year. The usual ‘Iftar’ parties, celebrations, and social gatherings with loved ones have been put to a halt as people tend to remain indoors in their respective houses to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The question looming in everybody’s mind is, how will we all be spending Eid this year during the lockdown? This year, Eid prayers may be held inside homes instead of mosques across the world as countries still decide on the health guidelines to follow for religious gatherings. Whereas the cities that come alive with all the hustle and bustle of people coming out for Eid celebrations will not be happening, instead we would be witnessing a quiet Eid as never seen before.

We’ve listed a few significant ways in which this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr will differ due to the ongoing lockdown:

1. Zoom Conversations Instead of Hugs

Source: DK Find Out

People have been having virtual iftars instead of going to each other’s places the same way going to meet everyone this Eid is a big no-no due to social distancing being followed.

2. No Eidi This Year

Source: Here and Now 365

Sad news for those who look forward to spending their Eidi with friends, eating out, or on a shopping spree for something they’ve been waiting for a long time. No Eidi will be received this time since no guests would be visiting our homes!

3. Less Eid Shopping and More Thinking About the Needy

Source: Gulf Today

During this challenging time, when businesses are closed down due to the lockdown, many people are suffering, especially those who are daily wage earners. This Eid, since we won’t be going out, maybe we could spend less on shopping and donate clothes, food and other essential items to those who need it.

4. No Mehndi Because of Social Distancing

Source: Dawn

Every Chaand Raat feels impossible without mehndi; however, this time around, you will simply have to make do with mehndi application at home. To make things easier, the ladies can opt for temporary tattoo mehndi designs available in stores too.

5. Elaborate Eid Dawats Replaced With Small Family Dinners

Source: YouTube

Extended family gatherings, a.k.a ‘Eid Milans’, will be replaced with relatively small family dinners just with your loved ones at home. Virtual family gatherings can be conducted over Zoom, technology has made this lockdown bearable, and we’re sure it will help make Eid feel less gloomy too!

What other differences do you think this Eid will bring? Let us know in the comments below.

How To Disinfect Your Room Amid Coronavirus

Disinfect Your room

Water and soap combined are eco-friendly; together, it does a great job of cleaning your room. A bucket full of hot water and soap combined can be used to clean off surfaces but let me remind you, we aren’t dealing with common bacteria anymore, are we now?

So what must be done to disinfect your room?

With coronavirus spreading like wildfire across the globe, you must disinfect your room at least thrice a week. Around 246,777 have been affected by the virus while 10,063 have died around the world as of today (20th March)

What is the difference between disinfecting your room and cleaning your room?

Please note that cleaning your room is not the same as disinfecting your room. The former means you’re removing germs, but not killing, while the latter means you’re killing them.

This distinction is important because you might clean surfaces effectively, but you do not disinfect them, leaving dangerous germs and bacteria to grow and fester.

What are some of the active agents to disinfect your room?

You can choose natural ingredients such as tea tree oil or vinegar to clean surfaces in your room. Add a little amount of either of the two and wipe off all the high touch surfaces in your room.

More aggressive cleaning agents could be hydrogen peroxide. You do not require to mix it with water. Just use a minimal amount of the product as it is. Unlike vinegar, Hydrogen Peroxide does not have an odor.

Manual vs Automatic Transmission: Pros & Cons to Help You Buy Your New Car!

Manual vs Automatic Transmission
Credits: PakWheels

Purchasing a car is not as easy as it seems! It’s not just about which car has the most comfortable seats, or your favorite paint job, or even an attractive exterior!

When buying a car, what matters the most is what’s on the inside, its engine, fuel capacity, features, and most importantly, if its automatic or manual transmission.

What is an Automatic Transmission?

An automatic transmission, also called self-shifting transmission, or AT, in short, is a type of motor vehicle transmission that automatically changes the gear ratio as the vehicle moves, meaning that the driver does not have to shift the gears.

What is a Manual Transmission?

A manual transmission (MT), also known as a manual gearbox, stick shift, or gearbox, is a type of transmission used in motor vehicle applications. With a manual transmission, the driver has to use a clutch and stick shift to change the gears.

There are three types of manual transmissions, sequential manual transmission, unsynchronized transmission, and constant mesh gearbox.

FBR Discovers Scam Worth Billions in Pakistan’s Automotive Industry!

What are the Pros and Cons of a Manual Transmission Car?

There are some pros as well as some cons to manual transmission cars. Nowadays, outside of countries like Pakistan, manual transmission cars have almost been completely replaced with AT cars.

Manual Car Pros

  • The driver has full control over gears
  • Transmission costs less to repair
  • Usually Less expensive than an AT vehicle
  • The vehicle is more engaging for the driver

Manual Car Cons

  • A limited selection of vehicles offer a manual
  • Can get tiresome in heavy traffic
  • Harder to find a manual on higher trim levels
  • Requires precise control on hills
  • The learning curve is steep

Automatic Car Pros

  • Better gas mileage
  • More comfortable to drive in stop-and-go traffic
  • The majority of vehicles offer automatic transmissions
  • Shiftable AT car gives drivers the best of both worlds
  • The transmission shifts quicker and smoother

Automatic Car Cons

  • Many gears might shift too often.
  • More expensive to buy than a manual car.
  • More moving parts can lead to higher repair costs.
  • Not as fun to drive (subjective)

In the end, the best type of transmission a driver should opt for is based on two factors; the kind of vehicle you’re looking at and your driving style. Drivers can be picky about cars; after all, they are a hefty investment at the end of the day!
