TCL Becomes The Title Sponsor Of Peshawar Zalmi Ahead Of PSL 2021

With Pakistan’s largest sporting event just around the corner, electronics giant TCL Pakistan once again renewed their partnership with Peshawar Zalmi. The partnership was formally signed by Zalmi Chairman Javed Afridi and TCL Pakistan’s General Manager Sunny Yang in a ceremony. PSL 2021 will see TCL serving as the main title sponsor. 

 

Having sponsored PSL over the past few years, TCL has taken their partnership one step further. This new initiative between Peshawar Zalmi and the electronics company shows its continuous commitment and enduring affiliation with cricket. The brands also aim to combine efforts to promote the sport and bring young talented individuals to the forefront. 

 

Speaking about the renewal of the contract, Sunny Yang, General Manager of TCL Pakistan expressed her anticipation for the upcoming tournament by stating, “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Peshawar Zalmi in 2021 as well. This year we decided to take our partnership one step further. As a brand that is a promoter of sports and talent all around the globe, we will extend our support to the team for the promotion of cricket in the country”.

 

Javed Afridi expressed his gratitude and said,” We are excited with the renewal of our partnership with TCL and will continue to play our part for the promotion of cricket in Pakistan. With the support of brands like TCL we hope to bring the trophy home”. 

 

PSL T20 will begin this year in February 2021. 34+ matches are scheduled with this year being the second time when all the matches scheduled will be played in Pakistan, including 3 playoffs and the final match.

The one thing all chocolate lovers can probably unite on is KitKat. With their innovative way of presenting chocolates, they have ensured they have tapped into every kind of chocolate lover who could exist. But they just gave heart-attacks to some people who bought a pack of Kitkat Crisp Wafers. They couldn’t find the main ingredient, not the chocolate, the wafer.

They lost their cool! And, rightfully so.

I mean, can you imagine KitKat Crisp Wafers without wafers.

All over Twitter, people started sharing pictures of the disaster they have to suffer through; The aftermath of the unimaginable.

And why wouldn’t they cry because KitKat would just not be the same without the signature wafer, would it?

And it was not that out of four sticks, only one was missing the wafer; in fact, all four of them were just that, chunks of chocolates.

What they need to understand, though, is that this chocolate is not just chocolate. It is nostalgia for childhood, the need for a break, and just love for the people. Was anyone to want some chocolate, they could get any brand. But opting for this brand particularly means is that they want the chocolate wrapped in a perfect combo with the wafers.

They were quick to take their disappointment and hurt to Twitter.

They said: check out the ‘no wafer KitKat.’

Hurt aside; it’s a pretty catchy name.

KitKat Takes Notice

The brand took notice of it and tagged KitKat US on all the tweets they were tagged.

From KitKat US’s response, it seems like there was a problem with some batches. But they are not even aware of it. To each and every tweet, they have asked the customer to DM them the UPC barcode and the manufacturing code.

Some factory managers will soon be getting a notice for sure.

Allama Iqbal Statue Removed & Officials Involved Suspended

[Update]: Following the social media uproar on the deformed statue of Allama Iqbal, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) have taken action. They have ordered that the statue be removed from Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park Lahore.

It was claimed that it was the local gardeners who had funded and made the sculpture. However, later it was revealed that it was the Assistant Director Horticulture and Deputy Director Horticulture who led this project. And now, both have been suspended for inefficiency and negligence.

 

Someone once said, “A nation that forgets its heroes will itself soon be forgotten.” And a nation such as ours that has been achieved after quite some struggle should definitely not forget its heroes. One way of giving tribute to heroes is by placing their statues in public spaces. Our national poet, Allama Iqbal, is among such heroes, the person who dreamt of Pakistan.

If one were to trace his poetry, they’d find that in the beginning, his poetry was all about the unity of the sub-continent. But later on, he realized that for Muslims to get their own identity and flourish, they needed their homeland. Unfortunately, he could not live to see the founding of Pakistan. But his poetry is still cherished and loved. Aside from that, his poetry was also focused on motivating the youth.

The poet’s statue was raised in Gulshan e Iqbal Park Lahore. And it was not going to go ignored now, was it? But Pakistanis have outright rejected this statue because they find it deformed. There was sarcasm overflowing on the topic, and there was also criticism, and it may not be misplaced.

You have probably come across numerous pictures of Gwadar Cricket Stadium by now. The cricket stadium’s images instantly went viral a few days ago, which was perceived as a piece of heaven to play cricket on by most cricket enthusiasts.

The Indian Outrage Over The Praise Of Gwadar Cricket Stadium

Soon after the stadium’s pictures went viral, many Indians took offense and took it as an opportunity to brag about other cricket stadiums of the world with a view. There are probably many such cricket stadiums, but it’s interesting to see some Indians hold such resentment against Pakistan that they tried to take the attention off the new stadium.

While ICC’s official account shared it as a generic post praising the beauty of a cricket stadium, many Indian hyper nationalists got triggered and started spamming the tweet with pictures of other stadiums.

 

While we love the enthusiasm of Indians taking the time out to share pictures of some of the best stadiums in the world, what makes it sad is that it took a tweet on ICC’s official account to downplay the beauty of Gwadar’s Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan and India have had a rocky relationship ever since both countries gained independence from the British. And this is not the first time that one of them tried to humiliate the other on a global platform.

Pakistani Host and public figure Fakhr E Alam also shared the stadium on his Twitter, which prompted South African bowler Dale Steyn’s attention too. And as expected, the tweets under it were full of abuses hurled by those who hold resentment against the country.

The fact that Gwadar’s stadium caught the spotlight does not take away beauty from other cricket stadiums of the world. Indians and Pakistanis have a hard time accepting each other generally. ICC Shares Breathtaking Pictures Of Gwadar Cricket Stadium

Pakistani celebrity Fakhr e Alam decided to take to Twitter to introduce the whole world to Gwadar’s very own very beautiful cricket stadium. He actually uploaded a video from atop a rugged terrain that overlooked a stadium. He called it the “most beautiful cricket ground” he had ever seen.

He tweeted: “I actually got to play cricket at the Gawadar Cricket stadium…it’s a nice true pitch…great for batting…but the scenes are just so so spectacular…come to Gawadar and come play cricket with the locals…they are really good.

“To all #cricket playing friends everywhere in the world….come visit us…come play cricket with us here in Gawadar cricket ground….it’s the most beautiful cricket ground I have ever seen……”

Faisal Iqbal saw Fakhr e Alam’s commentary of the stadium and agreed with it. He, too, found the pictures amazing and said that he was looking forward to visiting it soon.

 

ICC shares the pictures of Gwadar Cricket Stadium

When celebrities share something on their social media, it is bound to go viral given the number of followers they have. So the pictures of Gwadar also went viral and were noticed by the International Cricket Council (ICC). They shared those pictures as well. TECNO Explores The heritage Of The City Of Lights, Karachi, Through #TECNOPhotoWalk

After the success of the first destination, Islamabad, TECNO has now reached the city of lights, Karachi. TECNO graced the most populous city and the capital of the Sindh province Karachi. In an interview with The Current, Sarah Khan commented about Aurat March that could offend many. She remarked that “don’t teach your daughters to go to the Aurat march.” Instead, she advises women to educate their sons. The problem with these statements is that they are extremely vague and misinformed! 

What exactly should sons be educated on? Sarah Khan is yet to comment on that because Aurat March symbolizes many other things besides gender-based violence and oppression. Aurat march is a show of solidarity against gender roles, against oppression, against the glass ceiling, which Sarah Khan herself may be a victim of.

Now, if you were looking at local universities, the requirements would be different. But if you were looking to go abroad, almost always the international universities want to see your IELTS result. And the cost for IELTS just keeps on increasing and increasing on top of the fact that the result expires every two years.

So isn’t it better to apply somewhere that does not require you to submit IELTS? Here is a list of 8 universities that do not have it as their requirement.

1. Asian Institute of Technology Thailand University

This university in Thailand does not require IELTS and offers a fully-funded scholarship for the academic year starting 2021. So if you are aiming for Masters or Ph.D. programs, you may want to give it a try.

2. National University of Qatar 

The National University of Qatar has opened its programs for Fall 2021, and both Qataris and international students are eligible to apply. More importantly, this is not just for Masters and Ph.D. Degree programs but also for Non Degree programs.

3. East China Normal University

If you have just completed your intermediate and want to go abroad for your bachelor’s, East China Normal University would be a great option. Again, there is the possibility of a fully-funded scholarship, and bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. aspirants, all are welcome.

4. Nanjing University China

Another university in China is also giving the opportunity without asking for IELTS, and it is called Nanjing University. For the academic year starting 2021, Nanjiang is also a valid option.

The University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Scholarship allows Brunei and international candidates to study whether full-time or part-time in their Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. Degree Programs.

6. Doha Institute For Graduate Studies

Apply for the Doha Institute For Graduate Studies Scholarship 2021 where you can Study Masters without IELTS.

7. National Chiao Taiwan University

NCTU Scholarship for National Chiao Taiwan University is for Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. Degree Programs.

8. Hammad Bin Khalifa University 

Hammad Bin Khalifa University Scholarship in Qatar does not require IELTS but to prove your English proficiency; you can get your university to make a certificate for you.

Other than these options, you can also apply for Azerbaijan. As part of their scholarship program called Azerbaijan Government Scholarship 2021 initiated by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Of the markers of Karachi, the Mazar e Quaid takes the lead. Spread over 33,000 square feet, it was inaugurated in 1971. Tourists, domestic or foreign, make it a point to include it in their trips. While Karachiites may not find enough time to visit the mausoleum, the Mazaar serves as the city center that they have to cross during their everyday routine. He named his project Rang De Karachi.

By now, they have tackled People’s Chowrangi, Numaish, and Shahrah e Quaideen. So this time, they decided to clear out Quaid e Azam’s mausoleum. More than 1000 people in this organization, they cleaned up the outskirts of it and have chosen street art as the medium to make it pretty.

NED And A History:

There was a time when NED used to be one of the only few engineering universities in Pakistan. Back then, its admission procedure was a lot simpler too, where you were given a selection of disciplines and then you studied it for four years. Science minister, Fawad Chaudhry, has commended the efforts of NED on this ongoing development.
