[Update]: After being called out for jumping queue and taking the vaccine before the turn, Iffat Omar had tried to evade the blame by saying it was a trial vaccine. But she was schooled excessively on Twitter after which she had deleted the tweet.

And now, she has apologized to the public by taking it to Twitter acknowledging that she did wrong and that she will repent.

It is commendable that she accepted her mistake and publicly asked for forgiveness when influential people do not really like to own their wrongdoings.

“We realize that the PET plastic in the bottles is actually polyester, which is already created in a conventional way using oil. So, if we could process it and spin it back into yarn, we could produce polyester without oil.” Barber said in an earlier interview for Gulf News.

Saba Qamar’s breakup has taken up quite a huge space in the entertainment news. For the past two weeks, it was rumored that she was in a relationship. But then almost suddenly they broke up.

When Saba said ‘qubool hai’ to Azeem Khan in comments and when Saba hinted that she has Azeem’s bracelet, people were forced to ask if they were dating. What started as a mere reply to a probably fun comment turned into a full-fledged romantic relationship. Saba confirmed it when a major publication approached her saying she will marry him. But two three days before her music video was to release, she announced on social media that the wedding was off.

Since then, there have been major speculations about what this was. So here we have listed down some of those speculations.

1. Publicity stunt

One speculation was that this was a publicity stunt by Saba. Do we really think that someone who has millions of followers, and someone who played the Qandeel character would stoop to such a tactic out of the blue? No.

2. Making Axeem more famous

Another speculation that emerged was that this fiasco happened to make Azeem more famous. This actually seems possible. Earlier, the man had slightly above 42 thousand followers. But now that Saba’s name gave him the exposure, his following has increased to more than 70 thousand. But why would Saba agree to this?

3. Fake Breakup 

The best one yet is that this is a fake breakup. Because of the huge backlash against Saba she was pushed to fake it. And because Saba had a project release coming up which could have hindered her reach, they faked a breakup to regain the lost fans.

4. Upcoming song – Chingariyan

Could this be a promotion tactic for the upcoming song?

So see Saba does not need publicity stunts for herself but when she had a project with Bilal Saeed named ‘Qubool Hai’ she did write qubool hai in comments on his post. So just like that, maybe for this upcoming project, she was going to do something similar but it blew out of proportion and they just couldn’t backtrack from it.

5. Could be a bet?

I mean, we have seen from Azeem Khan’s insta posts that he is a meninist. And we have also heard Saba’s view; remember how Azeem responded to Saba’s video and even called her ‘Saba Baji’? So they must have made a bet. We do not know what they betted on but this could be a bet where they wanted to see how the public would react. If it is then I hope Saba won.

So the story goes somewhat like this:

Nadia Hussain was invited to Nida Yasir’s famous morning show. On that show, Nadia shared how she fell in love with her wedding dress. It was a dress by an Indian designer Anamika Khanna who was in Pakistan for a fashion show. Nadia was a part of it. It was the time when Nadia was also planning her wedding. She saw the dress and just knew that this was it. But Anamika was flying the next day and the amount required for the payment was higher than what Nadia could withdraw from an ATM.

To make sure they got their hands on the dress, Nadia and her husband borrowed money from everyone they knew who could give them a loan. And at 4 am, knocked at Anamika’s residence. The dress was bought.

Even though we personally do not think the dress was worth it but if she was happy on her big day, then that’s all that matters.

City’s Iconic Organizations Celebrated At K-Electric’s KHI Awards 2021

KARACHI: Celebrating the untiring efforts of organizations that enable Karachi to function all year round and give it its signature ethos, Pakistan’s largest private electric supply company, K-Electric (KE) announced 34 winners across 13 different categories at the first edition of the KHI Awards.

The winning organizations spanned a broad spectrum of categories, from Education to Public Health, Uplifting Communities, Inclusion, Livelihoods & Vocational Training, Heritage & Culture to Digital Accessibility & Financial Inclusion, as well as Sports and Women Empowerment. The winners were announced at a privately held ceremony with limited attendance on Saturday, April 03, 2021.

KE’s KHI Awards aim to recognize the unyielding power of all such organizations that have contributed towards the sustainable development of Karachi and adjoining areas where KE has a footprint, driving Karachi to become the Urbs Prima of Pakistan.

Commenting on the Awards via a video message, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said, “The participants and winners of these awards are an integral part of the state, as they support the government in its efforts to help the people of the city across a number of different fields including education, public health, and sustainability. I appreciate KE’s step to recognize the efforts of these NGOs and I am sure that it will be a catalyst towards bigger plans. The process was conducted with utmost transparency and impartiality, and all organizations were evaluated on their performance alone.”

Speaking on the occasion, CEO K-Electric Moonis Alvi said “KE is excited to bring the inaugural edition of the KHI Awards. Our relationship with the city extends over 107 years, and we are embedded in the fabric of Karachi. It is heartening to see so many competent and passionate organizations working at the forefront to uplift the city. These awards are KE’s humble effort to acknowledge their dedication, and are proud to extend our support in their ongoing efforts. KE is also grateful to the jury members who volunteered their time and expertise, as well as our audit partners who ensured credibility and transparency in the evaluating process.”

A diverse jury of experts – lead by Saad Amanullah Khan, founder and current President of #IAMKARACHI – evaluated the proposals for the KHI awards based on the impact of their initiatives developed and executed for Karachi or its adjoining areas within Sindh and Balochistan. All winners were chosen based on their performance, contributions, and the impact of their plans for the benefit of society which are in various stages of execution. EY Ford Rhodes Chartered Accountants, a member firm of Ernst & Young Global Limited were the Official Award Auditors and monitored the end to end process of shortlisting and jury process against the defined parameters developed by K-Electric.

Saad Amanullah, chair of the KHI Awards Jury, also appreciated the efforts of the winners, saying “We had an overwhelming number of entries to choose from for our first edition. The winners have been instrumental in making a tremendous impact on the city, and their total asset base stands at over PKR 54 billion, which is the welfare investment these organizations are making to drive progress in Pakistan and it’s largest metropolitan city. KE’s decision to honor these organizations and empower them on their journey is commendable.”

 

The ceremony was organized at KE’s headquarters, in strict compliance with safety SOPs. Attendance was limited to the leads of the award-winning organizations and key KE team members. All winners were given specified individual slots to prevent crowding at the venue. Celebrity guests Sidra Iqbal and Dino Ali hosted the event and the awards were presented while maintaining social distancing protocols.

Each winner was selected for the efficacy of its project and the manner in which it was executed during the agreed time and within the allocated budgets. The selected organizations perfectly demonstrate the best practice examples of urban innovation in the city and focus was given to the use of technology and mobile solutions.

The 34 winners include well-loved Karachi behemoths as well as up and coming organizations whose efforts continue to improve the lives of the citizens of Karachi. Recipients included the Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre, which has worked decades for the betterment and inclusion of leprosy patients, and organizations such as the Kiran Foundation, and The Citizen’s Foundation who work for economic empowerment for women in need. Similarly, Hunar Foundation was also recognized for its efforts to provide vocational training for the promotion of small business creation. Winners have been awarded their prize in the form of electricity bill rebate, ranging from PKR 250,000 to 5 Million.

2020-21: List Of World’s Most Valuable Fast Food Brands Released

COVID has affected every industry and so it is expected that it would have affected Fast food as well. According to the list of valuable brands released by Brand Finance, it is clear that this happened considering almost half of the brands in the list witnessed a decline in brand value. Moreover, the most valuable fast food brands list that has 25 restaurants on it saw a total decrease of $8.2 billion (from US$162.1 billion in 2020 to US$153.9 billion in 2021).

Richard Haigh, Managing Director, Brand Finance said:

“The restaurant sector has shown remarkable adaptability in the face of unforeseen and challenging circumstances brought about by COVID-19. The efforts to refocus on at-home dining and the investment in digital presence have inured many of the biggest brands from far more dire consequences. The pace of vaccine distribution – particularly across the US and the UK – means there are signs of hope yet for the restaurant sector, with many customers eager to return to socialising and dining together.”

We have assembled a list of 10 of the most valuable global fast-food brands for you.

1. Starbucks

Valued at USD 38.44 billion in 2021, Starbucks remains the most valuable brand in the category fast food the fifth time without break. Its amazing to see this even though the value has dropped 6%; last year the brand value was USD 41.04 billion.

2. McDonald’s

In 2020, McDonald’s was priced at 37.45 billion dollars. The second most valuable fast food brand now stands at $33.84 Billion.

3. KFC

So many new phone brands have entered the market; sometimes it’s difficult to tell them apart. While the titans of the industry are few, there are many that are attempting to rise as the greatest ones. Where we hear about Samsung and Apple, we also hear about Oppo, vivo, and Xiaomi. In such news, we have a smartphone with us today. It is the vivo X60 Pro. What we have to see is whether it is worth the buy or not.

It all depends a lot on the user’s preference too. A person may not be a fan of android phones and may be drawn to the aura that is IOS. However, vivo has been known to release some impressive phones over the years. They have a wide variety of them and neither of them seems to lag a lot in quality. It seems that the vivo X60 Pro is a smartphone with flagship capabilities. Being a flagship also brings, with it, certain degrees of responsibilities and standards. Firstly, if we look at the design itself, there may be a couple of things to note on the phone. It has a sleek body, weighing in at 191 grams. That is a slightly heavy phone but considering what it holds, the weight can be justified. The phone has dual sim capabilities so if you have an office sim, you don’t have to worry about a second phone.

It has variants of storage, with the highest being 256GB internal, with 12GB Ram. If we look at the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra the highest variant is of 512GB storage and 16GB ram. If the price brackets are not too far off, wouldn’t we want to go for the highest possible variant?

The vivo X60 Pro features a 50mp wide camera with additional arrays for telephoto and ultrawide. The latter two are set at 32mp and 48mp. As far as we have seen at cameras in flagship phones, Samsung S21 ultra seems to be rising to the top. With its 108mp wide camera, no phone seems to come close to it. Only iPhone 12 Pro max is able to give it a run for its money.

However, which is the longer time investment boils down to the user itself. We feel that there is still room for more technology embedding in the new vivo X60 Pro.

It must be noted that, while the Vivo x60 Pro is available at a price of Rs.1 Lac 30 Thousand. On the other hand, the Samsung S21 Ultra Price is about Rs.2 Lac 30 Thousand.
