The automobile world is seeing a whole lot of development. Of course, that does not mean we are going to mass-produce the Tron bike or the Batmobile. However, it does mean that the combustion engine era may have entered into the ending phase of its life. The electric era took a jumpstart when the Tesla Model S came out nearly a decade back. Now, we are aware that Toyota has entered into the EV domain and they are planning to rise fast.

Many cars have their own sub-brand of electric vehicles. This means that they introduce a new line of vehicles within the brand itself and market it as just electric. Audi has a sub-brand based for electric, by the name of E-Tron. Volkswagen uses the term ‘ID’ to refer to its electrical range. Just like that, Toyota has just introduced a sub-brand to the world, purely based on zero-emission vehicles. It is going by the name of ‘bZ’ and it means ‘Past Zero’. The name itself refers to a range that will offer no combustion engines.

Toyota achieved quite a lot of success when it first came out with the Prius many years ago. Even today, the car is one of the most driven cars in the country and a lot of people prefer it due to space and fuel average. However, up until recently, Toyota had not thought of investing much towards completely battery-powered vehicles. It seems that the bZ4X is going to be a zero-emission vehicle which is going to shake up the market. The bZ platform can allow the company to release vehicles in the electric range, be it SUV, sedan or compact.

Toyota has also mentioned more details about its electric portfolio. It seems that they intend to attain 70 fashions worldwide, by 2025. This means that we are going to see more and more electric vehicles within the next five years. Not only do they intend to do this, but they have also entered the electric race with the other titans. Companies like Volkswagen and Tesla, with their electric ranges, now have hard competition.

As huge of a titan that Toyota is, it is no doubt that their electric development will be fast. Slowly and gradually, everyone wants to shift towards clean energy. Among the many companies operating in Pakistan, Changan is one of them. It seems that they may have recently hinted at something.

While Changan already did have a model in operation here, the new Alsvin really shook the market. One of its most outstanding features was that it offered a lot more in a lot less. For a sedan, its price bracket seems too good to be true. It got so popular that the booking of it was filled to the brim.

Now, while it may have some competition, it is certainly on its way to the top of the food chain. The price of the Changan Alsvin starts from Rs.21 lac and goes up to Rs.24 lac. This seems like a highly affordable car and a good investment, considering what the buyer is getting in return. While Changan may not be as prominent on the automotive market, it is certainly out to make a mark. The Facebook cover page of the automaker reads ‘Future, Forward, Forever’. What is more interesting is that these same words were seen somewhere else. They were seen on the sides of the three new vehicles that Changan was testing on the roads.

This Ramadan, once again, TV was graced with Ramadan special shows. While that entails only Sehri and Iftar transmissions for some channels, others go the extra mile and air dramas as well. For one of the local channels, that meant airing Chupke Chupke. While Chupke Chupke does seem neatly executed with its chemistry, plot, and storyline, people are not very happy with one of the lead cast.

Playing Meenu in the drama, Ayeza Khan has taken on all the traits of a bubbly girl who is spontaneous, doesn’t think much of the consequences and the sole purpose of her life is to avoid studies. Studies. This brings into view another problem. It is extremely difficult to understand what she is studying. In some scenes, she is holding O-levels books that can only mean she is 16 years old. But then in other scenes, people are talking about her doing graduation (which is another term for bachelors). At another instance, someone said she was doing her Masters in Maths.

And let’s not forget the time when Faazi asked Meenu to recite the table of 9. Which university requires you to learn that?

Recent Discovery On COVID-19

A recent study has shown the chances of re-infection of the novel coronavirus in young adults is still high regardless of the presence of antibodies. Previously, it was concluded that once the person has developed antibodies, the chances of re-infection are quite low. However, the latest research, which took place in “The Mount Sinai School of Medicine,” states otherwise.

The results concluded that young adults should be cautious of contracting the virus even if they have previously caught and recovered from the COVID-19. The study took place from May to November 2020 on more than 3,000 young, healthy US Marines. The study results concluded that out of the participants who had previously had COVID-19, 10-percent experienced reinfection.

The researchers discovered that the participants who experienced re-infection with the virus also had lower levels of antibodies. This was concluded in comparison to the participants who didn’t experience reinfection during the study period.

Another finding of the study concluded that the patients who have had a re-infection are also prone to transmit the virus. However, more research on the aspect is necessary to conclude the findings.

The majority of reinfections resulted in asymptomatic or mild cases of COVID-19. The results may be different for previously infected individuals with extremely low antibody levels when the reinfection occurs. The study’s senior author Stuart Sealfon, MD, said.

Apple Event Incoming:

While we may not have all the details, we do have some of them that we can inform you of. Firstly, while the date was not entirely confirmed, Siri says an event will take place on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021. This makes the event less than a week away now. Apple usually sends invitations to the users a week prior so we should be expecting one later today or tomorrow. While the date of the event has become complete public knowledge, Siri also said that users can check additional info on the Apple site. This also means that the details and invitation will be extended towards users with an Apple ID.

Since this is an Apple event, we can expect quite a lot of the audience to be present. No one wants to miss out on Apple events because they usually tend to reveal new technology. Not only do they do that, but they also release products that have the latest embedded within them. Do you remember when they released the M1 chip? It has such impressive capabilities and features that one can’t help but go read about it online.

Product Reveals:

As far as we are aware, two products are nearing the company’s horizon. The first is the much anticipated 12.9 inch iPad Pro, installed with an A14X chip. This might be joined by an iPad mini, but it is not yet confirmed. The second launch is said to be that of the Apple AirTags, which have been hyped up for about a while now.

Another Chinese cellphone manufacturer is launching in Pakistan. Tecno is ready to experiment its potential after Xiaomi in the local markets.

According to ProPakistan, Tecno will be launched under United Mobile on April 21st. After conquering the African market – in which it ranks among the three most popular smartphone brands – the company is hoping to expand its operations into countries such as Pakistan and India.

Last year, the company launched its much-anticipated flagship phones – Tecno Phantom 6 and Tecno Phantom 6 Plus.

Last week, Falak Shabir posted a video of Sara Khan asking for prayers. Sara Khan, who has been in Turkey for a few weeks, was hospitalized while vacationing. Her manager announced the news of her contracting Typhoid. The manager said that the Raqs-e-Bismil starlet was suffering from a high fever and vomiting due to typhoid, which is why she was admitted to the hospital.

However, a few days later, Falak posted an Instagram story that captioned ‘The Beauty of a Relationship.’ Subhanallah. 

The post left everyone wondering if Khan was really sick due to Typhoid as the situation states otherwise.

But amidst this pandemic, many countries went into lockdowns, so they were not allowing tourists either. Meanwhile, other countries receiving visitors were themselves employing strategies such as work from home, which meant that tourists could not see the culture first hand. So there was no point traveling to those countries either.

But does that mean people should not have their honeymoon? No way, they definitely should. Honeymoon is a tradition in itself and if you think you can complete it sometime later, let me tell you, that never happens!

Turkey has been the hot travel destination amongst Pakistanis for a few years. It is beautiful, it is cheap, and it is so safe that even girls can travel solo. Although, since newlyweds are choosing the country, I would suggest less explored cities so they can enjoy a romantic trip.

2. The Maldives

The Maldives is a group of islands. One might think that all it offers is water or water sports. Yes, it has water and activities for those waters. But there is so much more. If you are not a water person, you can choose to stay in villages and explore their culture. If you are a beach person, you can get accommodation alongside the beach. And if by chance you want solitude and the water together, you can choose a hut over the water (I would love that option but it’s expensive).

3. Mauritius 

Another place to try out is Mauritius. You get to experience a culture that brings you a mixture of major religions co-existing; it is an interesting idea which I personally would like to explore. But make sure your partner enjoys exploring culture as well.

4. Seychelles

People say Seychelles is exactly like the Maldives. But it’s more expensive compared to the Maldives. This is also a plus point, however. Because if you can afford it, why shouldn’t you go to a place a lesser crowd would be going to.

5. Baku

If you want beauty and affordability together in your trip, Azerbaijan is the place to go. Since the place is affordable, you and your partner can explore the country in a short time and then just laze around for the rest of your trip.

Tired of hearing about the Karsaz wali Dulhan? Well, we bring to you yet again, an installment of our campus horror stories. This time we decided to cover the horror stories of Karachi University. Although the university has lots of departments, the place is so huge that there is much empty land. And where is vacant, abandoned land, there is supernatural. Isn’t there? So let’s see what KU has to tell us concerning that.

1. The Dead Student

While Karachi University is bustling with life during the day, it is very peaceful and silent at nightfall. Almost scary. Even those students who have to stay behind for their evening programs prefer to stay in crowded places. It is mostly because areas drowned in darkness make them feel a supernatural presence. And this vibe gets very serious in the quiet of the night going from KUBS to the Maskan gate.

People have reported that first, you smell a strong perfume, and you can feel someone walking alongside you even though there is no one there. At other times you see a girl with books in her hands. Another girl reported that she felt a hand grab her shoulder. When she turned, there was no one.

Considering it all started after a female student was raped, murdered, and thrown in the bushes on the Maskan road, it is logical to say that it is the ghost of the dead girl.

2. Kabootar

It is understood that supernatural entities take on the shape of animals at times. And that is why we have heard so many stories about people passing comment on a stray cat, and the cats reply.

Well, a similar strange story was reported by a KU student. A girl says that she went to her class where there was a pigeon. The pigeon looked at her and kept staring without breaking eye contact or even fidgeting, which the pigeon should have been doing. They felt creeped out.

In the meantime, a cat came into the room. She attacked the pigeon and ate him. It would have been a very anti-climactic story had the cat not been discovered dead the next day.

3. The UBIT legend

UBIT has quite many legends. There is that one female ghost for everyplace so we are going to ignore that. But among the many horror stories, we found one about the basement.

A professor told his students that the basement has remained empty for decades ever since the professor residing there passed away. So it was better if no one ventured in.

But students, they never listen. So a couple of students went into the dusty, closed-off basement quarters. They swear there was no one in that pitch dark room. And yet they heard someone walk by. They left running.
