EV Charging Stations In Karachi

In Karachi, the nation’s first ultra-rapid DC charging station for electric cars was officially opened in June 2022. The first and only Ultra-Rapid DC charging station in Pakistan, equipped with Siemens SICHARGE D series chargers with power up to 160kW, was revealed in Karachi by Audi in conjunction with SIEMENS.

Abdul Haseeb Khan, CEO of Libra Energy Solutions, stated in his welcoming speech that his family has been in the oil industry for the past 50 years. The first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station was subsequently opened here in the 1990s by his father, Abdul Sami Khan. At this point, he has also included an EV charging station.

How efficient is this step

He asked the government to provide a subsidy to lower the cost of EV charging. Additionally, he asked for electric pole-mounted transformers (PMTs) near roads so they could add more of these charging stations there. So you can drive your EV from here to Murree with ease, he remarked.

He gave some information on their specific charging station, stating that it is the first rapid charger in Pakistan and that charging larger vehicles, such as the Audi e-tron, will only take 15 minutes while charging smaller vehicles will only take four or five minutes.

The cost behind the process

Such charging facilities are a need on your routes. He said that the cost of moving automobiles from one city to the next would be low and that there is lots of undeveloped space next to our motorways that could be used for solar farms.

Individuals who switched to electric vehicles have completely eliminated their gasoline expenditures since I myself own one. Fuel costs reach an all-time high in 2022. According to him, these cars are also environmentally good since you can always get renewable energy from the sun and wind.

Small electric vehicles will be charged at Rs 2,000, while big vehicles would be taxed at Rs 4,000, according to CEO of LIBRA Charging Hub Abdul Haseeb Khan. He claimed that the promotion of electric technology in automobiles is a result of the rise in gasoline prices.

The optimum locations

As Karachi’s Mayor mentioned, we could learn where it would be most practical to put up charging points as we gain more experience with the technology. The KMC is with you, and together, we can persuade other gas stations and gasoline dispensers to adopt this technology as well.” Along with EVs’ ability to help rescue the environment, we can also help with policies and laws related to this. A discussion with the federal government about installing charge stations along the roadway because they are also looking for ways to decrease costs can be beneficial.

EV Charging Stations In Karachi

While the influx of electric vehicles in Pakistan especially in Karachi is growing rapidly, it is enlightening to watch the response these vehicles are getting and proving critics wrong about the sustainability and life of electric vehicles in a country like Pakistan. Below is a list of places where some of the EV charging stations in Karachi can be found.

The future of the automobile industry

While the Pakistani car sector is still growing despite skyrocketing prices and average quality as in the past, it is now turning a new leaf as it concentrates on introducing new international brands like Hyundai Nishat Motors and Kia Motors. Quality also comes together with cost reduction and operational efficiency. This further extends the monopolistic feature of the market’s saturation, which benefits the customers. Electric vehicles have also shown hints of success, although there is still more work to be done in that area. It will be fascinating to observe how electric cars fare in a developing nation when the price of power is at an all-time high and the safety of property is questionable.

Cycle for Change

Over 250 cyclists participated in The Citizens Foundation (TCF) Event Cycle for Change this year to help raise funds to bring flood-affected children in Pakistan back to school.  A significant number of cyclist groups participated from various parts of Karachi and gathered at TCF School Shirin Sultan Dossa Campus, Qayyumabad  to advocate for quality education. This is the second year into this event owing to its huge success last year and it will be celebrated as an annual TCF Event.

The event was also attended by various sponsors and supporters including Main Sponsor, Careem Pakistan. Mr. Feroz Jaleel, Country Head Careem Pakistan stated – “We are immensely happy and overwhelmed to see that our colleagues and customers have donated wholeheartedly for the betterment of society. By leveraging the power of modern technology, we can together create a great impact in gathering donations for our affected fellow countrymen. Making a deeper impact is part of Careem’s DNA and we are blessed to have this opportunity in partnership with TCF.”

Currently, 3.5 million children in Pakistan are facing a learning disruption due to the flood crisis – worsening the education crisis in the country. Displacement, loss of family income and damage to the education infrastructure are forcing children to drop out of school; many are taking up work to support their families, while girls are at an increased risk of child marriages.

In order to address this challenge, TCF is proceeding with not just rebuilding the schools that got damaged, but is determined to bring these vulnerable children back to school and safeguard their future through quality education.

“Cities, Urban Change, and heritage management”: the first Social Sciences Winter School launched at the IBA Karachi

The first Social Sciences Winter School, jointly organized by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi and Centre for South Asian Studies in Paris (CEIAS, CNRS-EHESS) was launched at the IBA City Campus. The theme of the first winter school is Cities, urban change and heritage management through geotechnologies and digital humanities. Running from November 21 to 26, the school will try to address issues at the interface between cities, urban change, and heritage management focusing on scales of interpretation, theoretical questioning and methodological frameworks, and in interaction with various local and international stakeholders.

Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA and one of the organizers of the winter School opened the session discussing the importance of collaborations between the French scholars and local academicians. He mentioned that about 50 participants had joined the school from different locations and multidisciplinary fields to learn more about cities and urban spaces.

His speech was followed by Dr. Remy Delage, Co-director of CEIAS and organizer of the school. He discussed how the winter school was “the culmination of a long process of creation, collaboration and interchanging of ideas between scholars from both countries and that go back to discussions from the time before the COVID-19 pandemic”. He further elaborated on the three workshops that were offered during the first social science winter school: Workshop 1 – Heritage, public space and collaborative mapping: conceptions, practices and appropriations, Workshop 2 – City, architectural space and monuments: heritage perceptions, uses and management, and Workshop 3 – Interrogating the city from document to archive. He ended his speech on the hope that more of such collaborations would continue between the two countries in the coming years.

Dr. Michel Boivin, Co-director of CEIAS, elaborated on the history of the relationship between the French scholars and the research they have conducted in Pakistan. “The first French scholar came to work in Pakistan in 1950s who were archaeologists, when the CEIAS was also created with a focus on social sciences in South Asia. The winter school, therefore, is a symbol of achievement and is a very important event for us as it is a reminder of the evolution and continuation of the relationship between the Pakistani and French scholars”.

Mr. Arif Hasan, Architect and Chairperson, Karachi Urban Resource Centre, delivered the keynote address titled, “A yet undefined city”. His speech was focused on the way Karachi has evolved over the years and the role migration has played in expanding the city. He discussed how rapidly changing circumstances due to changing nature of migration have made it difficult to define the city and therefore difficult to identify, manage and conserve the city’s tangible and intangible heritage.

Additional plenary sessions were also organized to explore different themes unique to each workshop. Speakers included Dr. Anila Naeem, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Architecture and Planning, NED University of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Eric Denis, Co-director, CEIAS, Paris; and Yves Ubelmann, Architect, ICONEM, Paris. Dr. Naeem discussed the complexities of identification and recognition of heritage assets in urban centers and the need for the support systems to manage these historic assets in cities.

Aimed at students, emerging scholars and young professionals, the winter school will use advanced methodological and technological tools to provide intensive training to tackle urban questions from different angles and to explore the nexus between cities, urban change and heritage management. Multidisciplinary workshops like these impart valuable skills and prepare participants to use digital humanities and geotechnologies to design proposals and recommendations in the field of urban planning and heritage management.

Amazing Football Games For All The FIFA Lovers

Amazing Football Games For All The FIFA Lovers

One of EA Sports’ most well-known titles, FIFA, is already a household name in the gaming world. Whether they are a fan of football or not, almost everyone who plays video games must have played FIFA at some point. Therefore, we’ve compiled a list of 5 fantastic mobile football games that you may play in addition to FIFA Football. What better way to unwind when the building is under lockdown?

  1. Dream League Soccer

Dream League Soccer 2020 is undoubtedly an excellent substitute for FIFA Football and is debatably among the top football (or soccer, if you prefer) games available on the Play Store. The game has amazing 3D visuals and includes more than 3500 licensed players that you can employ to assemble your squad and compete against the top football clubs in the world!

  1. Real Football

Real Football, an Android game that Gameloft first released back in 2012, has managed to compete favorably with the other Football games that are readily accessible on the Play Store. Real Football’s PVP World Arena mode allows you to create your own squad and compete against other players. Real Football makes up for its maybe lacking outstanding visuals by having only 31 MB in size!

  1. E football PES

Pro Evolution Soccer, often known as PES, has probably been Konami’s talisman for a very long period because it is regarded as the finest Football game of all time together with FIFA. PES is our top choice as a FIFA substitute because of its outstanding 3D graphics, online and offline play features, and abundance of licensed players to assemble your squad.

  1. Ultimate Football

Another fantastic option to FIFA Football that offers you a ton of engaging and addicting gaming stuff is Ultimate Football. The game allows you to create a squad and participate in three distinct game types, including Career, World Cup, and Friendly, despite the absence of licensed players. This may be your best option if you’re a casual gamer seeking a simple football game.

  1. Score! Hero

Now, technically, you win! Hero doesn’t quite provide you with the same level of football action as the other games on this list. Instead, it enables you to shoot and score goals from challenging and original settings with simply a flick of the finger. One may play it for hours on end without getting tired thanks to the game’s inventive barebones principles and basic enough controls. One of my personal favorites.

7 Things Brands Don’t Want You To Know

Over years, brands tend to develop a relationship with their customers. However, despite developing a seemingly open connection there are various things brands don’t share with their consumers. If you think you know it you might be in the wrong! Today, we share all the brand secrets which you need to know as a consumer.

1. Brands Know Everything About Influencers

Brands tend to look at everything from an objective point of view. Before reaching out to influencers brand tend to look out for their public reach their profiles on all social media platforms and gather as much information as they can get. In all the content that influencers post, the brands decipher everything down to the bottom before finalizing the best fit for a particular campaign.

2. Brand Don’t Care About Followers

A common misconception is that brands reach out to influencers with a high follower count. However, the truth is far from it. While reaching the influencers the brands can eliminate a lot of external factors required for the production of an advertising campaign. Meanwhile, influencers can do all that work without having to look for any manpower. Brands look for an organic audience that the influencers can draw to market their product and your follower count will not certainly dictate the bucks you are making.

3. Responding Quickly To Brands Is Key To Landing Campaigns

Brands prefer influencers who are quick on their feet when it comes to getting back to emails. When it comes to approaching influencers brands tend to contact multiple people at the same time. If you are not getting reached out for enough gigs, the chances are you are in the wrong.

4. Brands Pay Differently

It is very common occurring for brands to pay a different sum of money to different influencers even if their follower count or reach is the same. The brands often reach out to influencers who might offer something different within the same domain. If the brand is having a difficult time finding the right fit for their campaign they might end up paying them more once they are found. Treat brands in such a way that they cannot afford to walk away from you.

5. Influencers Can Put The Brands In Trouble

While working with a brand, the representative is likely working under a boss. If influencers make a big fuss about certain details and changes, the representative is answerable to the boss which can make their life difficult. So, rather than being a problem trying to be a part of the solution is the foolproof way to ensure that the brand will reach out to you again.

6. Brand Goes Back To Their Devoted Influencers

Building rapport with your contacts will always bring in more money. Why? Because brands like to work with influencers who can give in to brands’ small requests. Meanwhile, if you are an easy goer the chances are that the representatives will most likely remember you even if they switch their job and move to a different domain.

7. Being Smart Is Very Important

Certain brands out there are shady and they are always thinking about how to lure someone into the campaign who doesn’t know about rights and exclusivity. Investing in your knowledge rather than fancy gear is most important if you want to survive in the industry long term.

ACCA, IFAC Release A Global Guide On Public Financial Management Reforms

Pakistan – Monday, 21st November, 2022:A new joint guide by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) released at the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) aims to boost PFM reforms across the globe by defining for the first time the idea of professionalisation specifically in the context of public sector finance.

The guide also features case studies of good practice from Tanzania, the UK, Cyprus, the Philippines, Pakistan, Malaysia and Wales.

A global guide for professionalisation in public sector finance provides a definition of what professionalisation means in public sector finance, sets out the benefits of professionalisation, and offers a high-level roadmap to support global good practice in professionalisation.

Discussing the global guide ahead of a panel discussion at WCOA,Joseph Owolabi, ACCA president, said: “Professionalisation brings credibility, trust and confidence in public finances by supplementing the systems and public finance processes with the right skills for accountability, transparency, good governance and external scrutiny. A professionalised workforce within a finance function supplies more than accounting information. It brings wide value to public sector finances – providing improved revenue collection, effective budgetary controls, and the data required to support policy decision making.”

Kevin Dancey, IFAC CEO, said:“We are looking to rebalance the focus so that it is not only on the process, but also on the people. The value of the accountancy profession, whether in the public or private sectors, comes from the experience, skills, judgement and ethical behaviour of its people.By increasing the number of professional accountants working in the public sector, we will no doubt add to the credibility and effectiveness of PFM, and reinforce trust in public services and spending.”

Achieving professionalisation brings multiple benefits to the economy, governments and individuals. It means greater financial credibility for economies, improved financial management discipline for governments, and greater access to diverse career options for individuals.

Alex Metcalfe, ACCA’s head of the public sector, said: “Political leadership and commitment for professionalisation is the most important factor for sustaining PFM reforms over time.In some countries, there is a lack of recognition that change is needed at all. In other countries, PFM reforms have concentrated on moving from cash-based to accrual-based accounting. But now more effort is urgently required to professionalise public finance staff and provide opportunities for training for professional qualifications.”

Sciencefuse is a social enterprise working to improve the quality of science education among 3- to 14-year-old students.

This is an after-school program that not only teaches children about science in a dynamic way but also trains the trainers. The Best Smartphones 2022 Around The World

It’s reasonable to assume that this year’s significant phone launches are over as we go into the winter. These suggestions ought to be effective up until early February when Samsung updates its top line with the Galaxy S23 series. Overall, 2022 has been all about little upgrades that improve gadgets but don’t provide many reasons to upgrade.

The phones mentioned below have fantastic cameras, good everyday performance, and are built to last for four, five, or even six years. We’ll help you choose the greatest phone for you and make sure it’s worth the price since you always get what you pay for, no matter how much you’re spending.

  1. iPhone 14 Pro

Many iPhone users will not be upgrading this year, especially if they are upgrading from a 12 or a 13. However, if you really want a new iPhone right away and want the greatest model available, the Pro is the best option. Apple introduces several new concepts with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max that are absent from the normal iPhone 14. One such concept is “Dynamic Island,” a fun mash-up of hardware and software that transforms the notch into a shape-shifting status indicator. A new high-resolution camera and an always-on display are also included.

  1. Google Pixel 7 Pro

The Pixel 7 Pro has the feel of the device that its forerunner ought to have been. It’s better late than never; the 7 Pro (and the 7, on its own) is a premium smartphone with long battery life, a consistently fantastic camera, and great daily performance. The best part is that it is a bit more affordable than flagship models, coming in at $899.

  1. iPhone 13

If you choose the 13, neither the screen nor the CPU is compromised in any way. There is no smooth-scrolling ProMotion on the 6.1-inch screen of the iPhone 13, nor is there one on the iPhone 14. Both phones use an A15 Bionic processor, and while the 14 has a modest boost with an additional GPU core, both offer superb performance.

  1. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

With Samsung’s Galaxy range, the “Ultra” designation no longer just denotes the largest phone; rather, it now signifies the largest phone and everything else. Five cameras, a large, brilliant 6.8-inch OLED with up to 120Hz refresh rate, and, oh yes, a built-in pen are all features of the S22 Ultra. More than that, it seems like the culmination of slab-style smartphone development. It is the Note series’ replacement.

  1. Google Pixel 6A

The Pixel 6A adheres to the same budget phone formula Google has been using for years: give essential Google functionality in simple, condensed hardware. Previously, that meant receiving the flagship phones’ camera systems. With the 6A, that formula saw a little alteration. You now receive an older camera system along with the same Tensor custom chipset as the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The Pixel 6A is a fantastic all-around affordable gadget, and even without the newest technology, it’s a recipe that works.

  1. Samsung Galaxy Z flip 4

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a big 6.7-inch screen that functions similarly to the slab-style smartphone you’re used to when it is turned open. However, you can use its little outside screen to view basic widgets and read alerts if you fold it in half like old-fashioned flip phones. It’s unusual, but it’s also entertaining and somewhat fashionable. It’s a wonderful option if you want to rapidly check information on your phone without having to completely interact with it and you’re feeling a little bit brave because this form factor is still in its infancy.

Did You Know How FIFA Makes Money From Football?

Doing business is rarely easy nowadays. You will soon amass a large sum of money if you produce a good that everyone wants to purchase but those costs you nearly nothing to produce. When the World Cup was held in Russia in 2018, FIFA earned more than $4.6 billion. FIFA pays for organizing committees in host nations, prize money, travel, and lodging expenses for teams and support personnel, as well as a legacy fund to aid with the development of sport in the host nation after the World Cup circus has dispersed. FIFA has agreed to pay the Qatar World Cup champions $44 million out of a $440 million prize pool. In a nutshell, this is how FIFA, the world’s governing body of football, generates revenue.

TV Rights

The sale of TV broadcast privileges for the World Cup and other international competitions accounts for the majority of FIFA’s revenue. TV rights contributed $4.6 billion of the previous cycle’s $6.4 billion in revenue.

Marketing rights

For the privilege to advertise at FIFA events, major corporations pay FIFA. The biggest sponsors are given the opportunity to collaborate with FIFA on its development and social responsibility goals, giving them access to FIFA’s non-profit arm, which invests in football at the grassroots, national, and international levels.

The World Cup, the most viewed television event on earth, allows the next largest businesses to run advertisements. More than half of the world’s population, or five billion people, are anticipated to watch this year’s competition. That is a sizable market to which to market.

Ticket sales and hospitality

Gate revenue is another source of income for FIFA. The whole revenue from ticketing rights is paid to a FIFA-owned subsidiary firm. This generated $712 million between 2015 and 2018.

Tickets for the Arab Cup in 2021, which drew over 600,000 spectators, brought in an estimated $12 million. For Qatar 2022, around three million tickets have already been sold. It will undoubtedly be another prosperous year with prices ranging from $100 to $1,100.

Branding and licenses

FIFA also makes money by granting its brand licensing. The most well-known of them is Electronic Arts’ line of FIFA football games, which during the course of its 20-year association with FIFA is said to have brought in $20 billion in revenue for EA.

It is believed that the game developer paid FIFA in the neighborhood $150 million each year for the license to use the FIFA name. FIFA earned $180 million in 2021 through the licensing of its brand for goods, retail, and gaming.

Following the indictments of many top FIFA officials in 2015, FIFA was given a $201 million award by the US Department of Justice in the same year as compensation for losses brought on by corruption.

It is quite common to mistake someone else’s carry-on for yours. Having a solid-colored suitcase or most likely a black one can make it difficult to identify what belongs to you. You certainly don’t want to bring someone else’s bag with you home. Having a striking colored suitcase can always help you find it more easily on the carousel.

The Crown Review: Netflix Drama About Queen Elizabeth II is a Historical Masterpiece!

the-crown-lead

Netflix seems to have an array skill of immaculate storytelling and constant amusement when it comes to tales of thrilling dramas and dark-toned, serious storylines. Whether it be a political drama; House of Cards, or the story of an overwhelming power through a single individual, or whether it be the lethal or subtle Narcos, Netflix has given us every reason to rejoice!

The Crown is another in the production line of brilliance in filming and storytelling such that it keeps you hooked and amused at the same time. The Crown is a hybrid of the former two storylines and signifies its own individual prowess in subtleness and uniformity.

Storyline

The Crown follows the historically inspired royal world of Princess Elizabeth (Claire Foy) and her Royal Family during the mid-20th Century, in the reign of an ailing King George (Jared Harris) and the 2nd reign of Winston Churchill (John Lithgow) as Prime Minister.

It starts with the marriage of a youthful Elizabeth with Lt. Phillip Mountbatten (Matt Smith) while Winston Churchill and King George deal with the post-war political and royal circumstances of United Kingdom.

As the ailing King starts to realize he may not have enough time to carry out his royal duties, he transfers his duties on to his daughter Princess Elizabeth. While an old Winston Churchill, in his 2nd reign as Prime Minister, is already being haunted by his party to be replaced as things start to look bleak. Thus, it is up to a young Elizabeth to carry the mantle left by her father and lead the nation into a new dawn with the help of her husband.

Thus, it is up to a young Elizabeth to carry the mantle left by her father and lead the nation into a new dawn with the help of her husband.

The show in itself does not boast any big name actors or any thrilling set-pieces that may threaten to overcomplicate the plot. But rather it signifies magnificence in production, directio, and acting.

The backdrop in itself is award-worthy, the environment and subtle accuracy of mid-century UK are fantastic. The first few episodes give an amusing outlook to what an exciting prospect one would expect moving forward. The story unfolds gradually where it provides you an introduction

The story unfolds gradually where it provides you an introduction of the royal family’s relation and behavior with one another and where the family stands in itself. While it also conjectures the faith the people of the party have in Winston Churchill as the party leader and how his relation to the King was integral to his role as the Prime Minister. It also quite aptly encompasses the challenge a young Elizabeth has to face in replacing her father as the Queen.

Verdict

The internal relations of the Royal Family give it some of Downton Abbey vibe with more of an enthralling take into how a simple misstep could lead to dangerous circumstances. The performances of John Lithgow as Churchill and Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth have certainly caught my eye. Where Churchill has to stand in the face of adversary and show illicit authority in order to defy his party’s expectations.

the-crown

While a young Elizabeth has to show the maturity of a leader at a young age to gain the confidence of the people and the family to lead them in such a bleak period. The initial look on the first few episodes has already got me hooked and suggests that there is much more to come.

While it might be a bit slow for some people’s liking, I would definitely recommend watching if you’re looking for a historical drama and a political thriller.
