Amal Umer‘s tragic loss shook the nation as parents, siblings, and Pakistan’s felt grief for the demise of the 10-year-old. Amal was hit during an attempted robbery by a police bullet.
Her parents rushed the girl to the nearest hospital where they were asked to take her to another hospital as they could not do anything to help. The staff was persistent for the parents to go elsewhere for help.
By the time they were able to make the needed arrangements, she took her last breath and fell to her wounds in front of her parents. Be it social media or television or any other platform, everyone was outraged over the negligence Amal had to face as she fought her best to stay alive.

The Sindh Assembly has approved the Amal Umer Medical Bill, Sindh Injured Persons CompulsoryMedical Treatment 2019, in a bid to make up for the loss that Amal’s parents went through.
According to The National, many experts were rightly concerned about the implementation of this bill, the Sindh government seems to have decided to make this policy work for the people of the province. All hospitals will be granted a working license only if they take in critical patients despite the legal proceedings.
