Steel Production is Actually Eco-Friendly at Amreli Steels!

Amreli Steels

Industrial growth is one of the key aspects of a country’s development. However, there is a common misperception about industries such as steel manufacturing, that they are harmful to the environment.

Many organizations are doing everything they possibly can to save planet Earth.

From adopting eco-friendly processes to conducting clean-up drives, reputable companies such as Amreli Steels are taking concrete steps towards making steel-making eco-friendly.

Here are 5 eco-friendly facts about Amreli Steels:

1. Amreli Steels is one of Pakistan’s largest recyclers

Steel has remarkable properties making it easy to remove steel from waste streams. Amreli Steels takes recycling a step further and refines the metal to produce the highest quality of steel. In fact, 42% of the world’s crude steel is produced from recycled material! This makes Amreli Steels one of the largest recyclers in Pakistan.

2. The Water Used at Amreli Steels’ Plant is 100% Recycled

The production of steel requires a large quantity of water, mainly for cooling purposes. However, in a water-stressed country like Pakistan, this can be difficult to do. Amreli Steels ensures that all the water used at its plant is 100% recycled. They use a state-of-the-art treatment plant without compromising on the quality of the steel, nor depleting the water supply.

3. Amreli Steels’ Manufacturing Processes Reduce Waste

As a leading name in Pakistan, the company ensures that it makes sustainable choices every day. Amreli Steels was quick to adopt the 5th generation red ring technology at its plant, which improves product quality and yield. The improved yield means a reduction in waste.

4. The Company has taken Steps to Reduce Energy Consumption and CO2 Emissions

Since 1960, the amount of energy required to produce one ton of steel has been reduced by more than 60%.  Compared to other regular steel manufacturers, Amreli Steels generates less CO2 per ton of steel.

5. Air Pollution Controller Installed

There is a common misperception that steel manufacturing leads to air pollution. Without the right precautions, that would be true. Responsible companies know and understand this, which is why the Amreli Steels plant is installed with a PLC-based APC (air pollution controller). It reduces the carbon footprint by capturing fumes and dust for safe disposal, instead of releasing them in the air.

6 Ways How you can Identify Plastic Eggs

plastic eggs

Plastic eggs were recently found being sold in Karachi. A shop owner was arrested and the vendor was questioned.

Sindh Food Authority shared that these plastic eggs are hazardous for human consumption thus must be avoided.

It’s disgusting how in order to save some money, people are willing to sacrifice the health of others.

For now, there are two assumptions, either these eggs are being imported by China or are being created locally.

How are Plastic/Fake Eggs Made

The egg yolk and egg whites are being created by using sodium alginate which contains ingredients like gelatine, calcium and more. Water and food color is then added to give it a natural look to look like a real egg.

The sodium alginate is added in luke-warm water with food color to match an egg. Then it is showered with gelatine and benzoic acid with other chemicals to prepare the egg whites.

For the yolk, they simply use the pre-made formula of the sodium alginate and add yellow color to it. Both parts are brought using calcium chloride and sharped in the form of an oval (egg).

How to Identify Plastic Eggs

There are 6 signs that can help you identify the difference between plastic and real eggs.

1. Outer Shell Density

Fake plastic eggs have harder shells as compared to natural eggs. You will be able to tell the density of the hell by closely observing it. Moreover, inside the shell you’ll like a rubber-like coating.

2. Outer Shell Shine

Unlike plastic eggs, natural chicken eggs are not very shiny. The plastic eggs, on the other hand, will be reflecting light from the surface.

3. Fake Yolk Melts

As soon as you crack a natural egg, the yolk does not spread until you apply force or break the yolk yourself. With plastic eggs, as soon as you break the shell the yolk will get mixed with the egg whites.

4. Noises

When a natural egg is shaken, the egg does not make noises. However, when a plastic egg is shaken, a sound can be heard from within.

5. Burn the Shell

When the plastic egg’s shell is burnt, it starts turning black and smelling like burnt plastic.

6. Water Test

After boiling eggs, put them in water. If the egg sinks, the egg is natural but if it floats, it’s not a real egg.

Also, fake eggs can stay outside for a few days without going bad whereas natural eggs will go rotten if kept outside.

Exclusive: Here’s Everything on Mahira Khan & Fahad Mustafa’s Characters in ‘Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’

fahad mustafa mahira khan

After some long anticipation, Mahira Khan has been confirmed as the lead in Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza’s Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad opposite Fahad Mustafa.

Further confirming the update, Mahira responded to a tweet by Nabeel Qureshi.

Fahad Mustafa will be playing the role of a cop in the movie set to be released in 2020 however, Mahira’s role is still not revealed.

Now, it’s definitely going to be a treat to watch the two stars in a project together.

We got in touch with Nabeela and Fizza to get the inside details about this exciting new project.

Here’s what Fizza had to say:

Q. What made you cast the two and what expectations do you have?

Ans: We are very lucky to be able to forge this collaboration. Mahira Khan is an incredibly talented and versatile actress. She has a tremendous body of work ranging from critically acclaimed films to comedies.

She is the best in the business and can transition from and between drama and comedy. Given that Quaid-e-Azam Zindabaad requires a significant level of tenacity, we felt that Mahira would be the best to convey the feel and style we are looking for.

We are stoked to have Fahad Mustafa on board for this film. We have had a working-in-tandem relationship with him for a while now; specifically in all of our previous films and now our fifth collaboration on Quaid-E-Azam Zindabad.

We continue to work with Fahad because of his ability to do comedy, action, drama, and romance. He gets the tone that we are going for and we feel that he plays into it tremendously.

Q. Can you tell us a little about the film and their roles?

Ans: After being exposed to the reality of life early on in his childhood, Fahad’s character’s moral compass breaks. He spirals down the path of being a shrewd and corrupt police officer who does whatever it takes regardless of the outcome.

On the other hand, Mahira’s role is the complete opposite. She is a law-abiding citizen with not a single mean bone in her body. She’s the type of person who goes out of her way to help others.

The two couldn’t be more different in their ways of life, one is selfless while the other is selfish. Along the way the two meet and get together, making them a very peculiar couple.

Social Media Reaction to Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad

Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is set to be an entertainer, packed with action, drama, and comedy.

The film is scheduled to release on Eid-ul-Azha 2020.

Popular Pakistani Musician Sends Legal Notice to Emirates for Copyright Infringement

faraz anwer

It is unfortunate but true that there is little awareness on the concept of Intellectual Property Rights in Pakistan.

Content is copied left, right, and center and often gets more popular than the original after getting copied, depriving the original producer from well-deserved fame and recognition.

Recently, Faraz Anwar took to his Twitter account to reveal that the popular airline, Emirates has been using his band’s music in their inflight entertainment platform ICE without his permission.

Take a look at the legal notice he sent:

legal notice faraz anwer

Anwer finally had to make the dispute public because Emirates continued to ignore his legal communication for months.

“I am writing this post after many months of attempting to contact Emirates Airline through proper legal channels,”

“They have disrespected my legal rights and have used my album and songs on their in-flight entertainment system for years without paying me a single cent or even taking permission from me.It is unbelievable that an international company which is so highly reputed would grossly ignore an artist’s Intellectual Property Rights.

It’s not their property, only I give my music license to brands and I have given it to Coke, Nescafe etc.”

Acknowledged and awarded by a scholarship from Berklee College of Music, USA on his outstanding musical achievement in 1996, he’s the only artist from Pakistan to be signed up by global record labels (US and Finland) for an instrumental album release “An Abstract Point of View” in 2002.

But his most important achievement is the fact that he has inspired thousands of people to pick the guitar up and learn the craft in a vocalist dominated world.

Let us hope that justice is served to him.

Shamoon Abbasi’s Durj to Officially Release in Pakistan Today!

Durj

Shamoon Abbasi’s film Durj will finally be released in Pakistan today as it has now received a clearance from a full board review of the Central Board of Film Censors.

The Durj team shared the news on Facebook and acknowledged the censor board for its “immense cooperation in the matter and for making #DURJ accessible to the people of Pakistan”.

According to statements, the members of CBFC had a problem with the story of this film which talks about cannibalism.

They rejected it stating, that it will portray a negative image of Pakistan.

Shamoon filed an appeal to the chairman CBFC, Danial Gilani, requesting him for a second viewing of his film.

“If there is any issue in the film #DURJ it should be pointed out and we will delete what is concerning for the censor board, Banning the film completely seems like a personal vendetta against #DURJ,” the actor and producer shared on social media.

“Just because the film was reaching to a new high in Pakistan, it shouldn’t be simply banned,” he further added.

Shamoon Abbasi took to Twitter to thank fans, censor board chairman Danyal Gilani and all the people for granting support for his film.

“Durj ban had been lifted by the federal censor board and we are thankful to Danyal Gilani sahab for being there to help us in the process,” he wrote.

However, some of the really explicit scenes have been removed for obvious reasons.

The film has already been released worldwide and it also premiered at the 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Smartphone Malware is Targeting Pakistan’s Military & Government Officials

According to a report by a security firm states that fake smartphone apps laden with malware are targeting Pakistan’s military and government.

The report has been released on Wednesday by Canadian company Blackberry. It identifies new espionage campaigns attempting to steal sensitive data from mobile devices.

“The Pakistani government is the target of a newly identified and ongoing espionage campaign BlackBerry researchers have dubbed OPERATION DUALPAK, which is employing newly identified malware BlackBerry researchers have dubbed PWNDROID2,” the report stated.

However, Blackberry says while it doesn’t know who is responsible for the campaigns, it likely involves state-sponsored hacking groups.

“Nearly all the governments with a developed cyber capability have an interest in, and ability to spy on the Pakistani government and its influential military. Even APT groups with unattributed state backing have had a go at it,” stated the report.

The report states one of the fake apps promised news about Kashmir.

India forced a security lockdown in August on occupied Kashmir, detaining thousands and cutting off telecommunications for days.

Other fake apps imitated a pornography website, a dating chat service, and a disaster relief organisation, the Ansar Foundation.

The apps often used Google’s Android operating system and were distributed through email or on social media messaging services such as WhatsApp.

Hackers appear to be acting in the interests of the Chinese, Iranian, Vietnamese and North Korean governments, the report further highlighted.

Since then, social media users have been displaying their outrage and displeasure over Bollywood celebrities openly supporting Modi, after his government imposed a lockdown in Occupied Kashmir while stripping it of its special status in August.

Apart from SRK and Aamir Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, directors Rajkumar Hirani, Rajkumar Santoshi, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, Nitesh Tiwari and producers Ekta Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, and many others also attended the event.

The Khans are not the first Indian celebrities to experience judgment for their endorsement of Narendra Modi.

Local Brands are Heavily Investing in Sports!

soccer

Cricket may be the first love of our nation, but soccer aka football, tennis, wrestling, badminton, and others are also a passion Pakistani sports enthusiasts share.

Local brands have now started to actively invest in the sport and sponsor the talented players to go abroad and win in big tournaments.

Brands are now teaming up with leagues to promote the sport in the country. This will also help construct the needed infrastructure to provide professional training and equipment needed to groom the players.

Corporate firms and organizations have become more active in contributing in order to give back to Pakistan. Supporting local talent is one way to do so.

Local brands like Osaka believe in innovation thus not only is this an achievement for the brand itself but an accomplishment for the nation.

Wrestling also took over the country when we heard that international players are flying in to take part in the first-ever 30 Men Royal Rumble in Pakistan where our very own Arbaba Fahim Kasi aka Panda emerged as the winner at DreamWorld.

Pakistan Among 20 Countries to Dominate GDP Growth in 2024: Report

Pakistan 2024

According to data used by Bloomberg from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Pakistan will be one of 20 countries that will dominate global growth in 2024.

The report further clarifies that due to the global economy weighed down and slower growth in the next 5 years, Pakistan and other countries will emerge as dominant growers.

China, despite having the most growth of GDP in 2018-19 will experience a slowdown in growth.  China’s share of global GDP growth is expected to fall from 32.7% in 2018-2019 to 28.3% by 2024.

The slow growth and global economic crisis are expected to impact 90% of the world as per the IMF’s report.

The US is expected to contribute towards a small portion of world growth, however, it is also expected to fall behind India on No.3 as a slump from 13.8% to 9.2% is expected by 2024.

Nonetheless, IMF has said new growth engines among the top 20 countries in five years will include Turkey, Mexico, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, while Spain, Poland, Canada, and Vietnam drop out of the first 20.
