Bushra Ansari Responds To Jannat Mirza Controversy

[June 7th, 2021]: Jannat Mirza scandal has gotten too much of a hype given her huge following on TikTok. Meanwhile, Bushra Ansari is a veteran actor who has been in the entertainment industry for quite some time. Both are important celebrities. And the ugly verbal fight that ensued was not a pretty sight.

However, Bushra Ansari showing that she is indeed the bigger person has come to apologize for making remarks against Jannat Mirza. She said that she was not aware of who the person was and neither did she know Jannat had already apologized. After that, however, she does mention that if your elders school you, instead of reacting harshly, you should respect them.

 

[June 7th, 2021]: After Jannat Mirza, her fiance Umer Butt has also jumped into the Busra Ansari-Jannat Mirza controversy. He chose to share his two cents on the matter.

Taking it to his stories which many Insta blogs covered, he decided to share his argument from the bed without showing the courtesy of getting up from his pillow. As he rubbed his eyes to get the sleep out, he said that Bushra Ansari should not have used bad language for Jannat Mirza. He then moves on to make the same argument Jannat did. Umer says that Bushra Ansari should not be making claims when it comes to Islam because she is not qualified for it.

But let’s approach it one step at a time. 

  1. In this day and age, it is not possible to not know the Christianity symbol. So Jannat was wrong in this part. Considering we come from a country where when you make blasphemy allegations with respect to Islam, no one gives you your rightful trial, Jannat should be held accountable for blasphemy against Christianity.
  2. Bushra Ansari started using bad language and cursing Jannat Mirza. Let’s assume Jannat really did not know the importance of the symbol. As a senior entertainer, Bushra Ansari should have definitely schooled Jannat but in a better language. There was no need to curse.
  3. Jannat responded and made fun of Bushra Ansari. She said that her Islamic claims hold no value because she is involved in activities like dancing. Her words made it seem like dancing was un-Islamic.
  4. And then Umer Butt came into the matter as well. With no regard to the gravity of how much Jannat had messed up, he said that Jannat had already apologized so Bushra Ansari should too. The way you called her ‘jaahil’, sir, in that case, you should also apologize because no matter what, no matter how much you want to school an elder, they are at the end of the day, older than you. Our culture demands respect for the elder.

People must have taken to his social media saying the same about respect for the senior. This is why, once again, he took to his social media giving his stance. He said that senior or not, he would call the people out exactly the same way if they curse him or the people around him. He also said that because she was a woman, he was this respectful, had it been a man, he would have held no barriers.

Does he really mean calling a senior actress Bushra Ansari, jaahil was him respectful?

[June 6th, 2021]: The first TikToker to cross 15 million followers on the app, Jannat Mirza, has been slammed with a Blasphemy case by the Christian community. Bushra Ansari also called out Jannat Mirza and Mirza returned the favor.

What Happened?

Jannat Mirza’s lack of awareness of religious symbols may just cost her her entire career. She was sent a chain belt that had the Christian cross dangling from it like a charm. Jannat Mirza wore that belt and also posted videos on it.

This invited the ire of her Christian followers and the entire Christian community. They feel that their Holy Cross has been desecrated and it is unacceptable. Jannat Mirza immediately started receiving backlash after which she deleted all videos and apologised. All the apology videos are on her Instagram stories.

Bushra Ansari Steps In

A veteran of the Pakistani entertainment industry, Bushra Ansari did not stay behind. She commented under a post of Jannat Mirza’s call out with her own harsh message. Here’s what she said:

Mirza also responded back rudely. Behind all the heart emojis is the constant taunt of age (is Jannat Mirza being ageist?) and of Bushra Ansari’s own career.

Perhaps Jannat Mirza took all her anger out on Bushra Ansari since she could not on the Christian community which she has already hurt.

Blasphemy Proceedings

The issue has not yet settled as Christian activists in Lahore have filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). They are accusing Pakistan’s most popular TikToker of insulting the Christian cross. Leading this movement is Catholic philanthropist Raja Walter and three other activists. All of them are pursuing a blasphemy case against her.

Stated in the complaint is: “Mirza has intentionally desecrated the cross, the holy sign of Christians. She has hurt the religious feelings of millions of Pakistani Christians. She should be punished and arrested”.

Getting Justice

Walter also added that deleting the videos does not make a difference. Jannat Mirza has a habit of doing this as last year she wore pants which had the face of Jesus and Mary on it. The FIA took no action because the video was shot in Switzerland. 

Moreover, they assert that if a Christian had done this with any Muslim symbol, they would already have been burnt. Why should Christians not get justice when their religious sentiments are hurt?

[June 7th, 2021]: Heatwaves in Pakistan, especially for Karachi, have become one of the most dangerous times in recent years. People even die if they don’t take the necessary precautions. Instead of Karachi, however, this time it is for most of Pakistan that is expected to be affected by the heatwave.

The weather analyst, Jawad Memon announced this heatwave. According to him, in most areas of Punjab, many parts of KPK, Sindh, and Northern and Eastern regions of Balochistan will experience hot weather. It will begin from 7th June and go on to 13th June. The temperature will rise 2 to 4°C  above the normal range of these regions.

Karachi and other coastal regions will stay in the normal range of temperature.

A Spell Of Heavy Rain To Begin In The Coming Weeks

Another spell of rain to begin this week all across Pakistan. The storm is said to bring down the mercury level, the Meteorological Department said.

The Met Office has issued a weather update predicting a spell of rain to be entering the country from June 17.

Moreover, the Met Office predicted rain and windy-thunderstorms (with few hailstorm and heavy falls) in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Northeast Balochistan, and Islamabad.

Meanwhile, dust-thunderstorms with rain are also expected in some districts of Sindh.

According to the Met Office, a westerly wave is pouring down in most parts of the country and likely to continue in some parts till Tuesday.

During the last 24 hours, rains with windy-thunderstorms have been observed in various parts of Punjab, upper KP, upper Sindh, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, north & central Balochistan, and Islamabad.


May 28, 2020:

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD/MET) has predicted rainfall, dust storms across Pakistan from May 27 till Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

Previously, Pakistan found itself facing several heatwave spells influenced by other countries.

According to the official PR released by MET, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Azad Kashmir can expect rain, whereas showers are expected in some places of Sindh and East Balochistan.

It reads:

With intermittent rainfall, thunderstorm and blowing winds, other parts of the country to witness the downpours include Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi , Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Mianwali, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Layyah, Khushab and Mandi Bahauddin,

In addition, parts of Punjab including Lahore, Gujarat, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sahiwal, Toba Tek Singh, Okara, DG Khan, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur will also witness rainfall with dusty winds in the coming days,

On the other hand, the National Disaster Management (NDMA) has directed all provincial departments, including National Highway Authority (NHA), Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), and other agencies, to remain alert in case of emergencies.

May 4, 2020: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a heatwave warning for the city of Karachi.

The temperature is expected to rise, and the heatwave will carry on for four days. PMD reports suggest the temperature is expected to rise to 42 degrees Celsius!

“The PMD predicts heatwave in Karachi and its suburbs from May 5 to 8, 2020, and the maximum temperature can rise to 40-42C. Wind flow will generally be from Northwest/West turning to Southwest in the evening during these days,” said Sardar Sarfraz, the chief meteorological officer of the department.

Since the holy month of Ramadan is also widely observed in the country, individuals who are fasting have been asked to avoid going into the sunlight and instead are being encouraged to stay at home, especially the elderly.

6 Simple Steps to Avoid Heatstroke in Heatwave

“Due to the COVID-19 situation and the expected heatwave, people are advised not to venture out next week as the high temperature and an increase in daytime humidity could result in heatstroke to people,” said Dr. Khurram Ahmed, a physician at a local healthcare facility.

Reportedly, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority wrote letters to the Karachi commissioner as well as the municipal commissioner of the KMC. These letters request the authorities to take steps to prevent any loss of life.

Impact Rankings 2021: 36 Pakistani Universities Make It To The List

Times Higher Education (THE) releases an Impact Rankings list every year since 2019 that assesses universities according to UN’s SDG – 17 goals for a sustainable future. The list for 2021 has been released and 36 of the Pakistani universities have been named. It is certainly a reason of pride for the country.

Universities from all over the world were assessed but 95 nations got the opportunity of witnessing their universities on it. The list comprises of 1,115 universities.

NUST – leading amongst Pakistani universities

Amongst Pakistani universities, NUST (National University of Sciences and Technology) is on the top. They have secured this place for fulfilling various goals from the UN SDG foundation. Those goals are:

  • SDG 7 ‘Affordable & Clean Energy,’
  • 9th SDG: ‘Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,’
  • SDG 12 ‘Responsible Consumption and Production,’
  • and SDG 17 ‘Partnerships for the Goals.’

After NUST, you will find the University of Agriculture Faisalabad and COMSATS University Islamabad.

Ghotki Train Accident Leaves 30 Dead In A Bizarre Event

The railway track between Raiti and Obaro Railway stations, at Ghotki, witnessed a traumatic incident on the morning of 7th June 2021. The two trains collided leaving 30 dead and almost 60 injured. Injured are in need of immediate evacuation from the site of the Ghotki Train Accident.

PM Imran Khan has reacted to the news and ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, Army and Rangers have arrived and are now involved in relief activities for the affected.

The two trains involved were Millat Express train and Sir Syed Express. Millat Express was headed to Sargodha from Karachi and the latter was coming from Rawalpindi. Millat Express derailed and fell on the other track. There, the other train hit Millat. This statement is released by Pakistan Railways. It now depends on the investigation ordered by the PM, whether this statement will be proved right or not. Until then, we offer condolence for the dead and wish for the quick recovery of the injured.

Tap the ‘Data & personalization’ tab under your Google Account page. Below ‘Data & personalization, there is a tab of ‘Activity controls’ where you can see Web & App Activity, Location History, YouTube History, etc.

3. Tap Manage your activity controls

Now go to the ‘Manage your activity controls’ tab, which is present under the section of Activity controls.

4. Tap Manage activity

After you have arrived on the Activity controls page, scroll down and Tap on ‘Manage activity.’

5. Filter By Date 

Go to filter by date. Here you can see all the previous history on your smartphone.

6. Select Voice Recordings

Now you can select the voice recording you previously have done on assistant.

7. View Your Recordings

Now you have all your previous recordings on your screen, which you can also hear whenever you want.

Video Of Drunk Range Rover Driver In Lahore Goes Viral

A recent accident on Canal Road in Lahore has left many appalled, shocked, and horrified. Here’s all you need to know about it.

The Accident

This accident is going viral on all social media platforms because of how terrible it is. Videos show a white Range Rover first parked on the left side of the road while traffic moves as usual. In no time, one hears a crash, a lot of clamours, and only screams of a man.

The video then shows the Rover on the opposite side of the road with a man stuck underneath the back wheels. He’s screaming asking for help and the driver of the Rover also jumps out. Almost immediately traffic starts collecting. Many also rushed to try and lift the car to help the man out.

What Is So Appalling?

Accidents happen all the time and sometimes, as the word suggests, they are an accident. However, the way people react matters a lot. They should have the decency to help the injured.

Yet, the driver of Range Rover had no morality or ethics. It appears from the videos he was drunk as he kept making strange gestures. Then, he also got inside the car and sped away with the motorcycle still stuck under his wheels.

Even in doing this, many people ran out of the car’s way as even they could be hit. Have people lost their conscience altogether?

Call it Karma

Call it Karma or whatever but the driver of the Rover got what was coming to him. He kept driving recklessly all the way to Barkat market from Canal Road with the motorcycle stuck underneath.

Since the motorcycle was creating a lot of friction on the road and its petrol was also leaking, a fire engulfed the car. The pictures after the Rover are beyond imagination. They are just as horrifying as the incident before.

What Kindness Can Do

In this case, the victim may have two fractured legs and have lost his motorcycle. One can only imagine how much people save to purchase any vehicle and this man lost his.

Additionally, the Range Rover driver also lost his car. The difference? He came out scratch-free and can afford another car, if not the same.

If only the driver of the Range Rover had stopped, helped the motorcycle man to a hospital and not tried to fee the scene, both would be better off.

It seems that we have found out something in recent news. YouTube is running some tests on the android version of YouTube. What we are about to tell you might change a lot for the platform. The tests involve the presence of the comment section in full-screen mode. Usually, you would not be able to see comments when on full screen. This is due to the lack of space on the screen. Where would the video go if you want comments in full-screen mode? Worry not, the platform is running tests on this very feature.

According to the tests, you can open the comment section while watching a video on full screen. What the app would do is it would slightly reduce the size of the video in order to accommodate the comment section. This way, you can read the comments while listening to watching the video itself. This feature is similar to how the interface works on ‘Twitch’. There, you can double-tap the screen and have the comments on the side.

New Feature Might Roll Out Soon

Additionally, if you swipe down, you can always hide the comment section on the YouTube test. This makes it highly convenient and useful for many people. Sometimes, one wants to take a look at comments to see possible solutions to a problem. So, it would make sense that YouTube is working on such a feature. With enough positive reaction, it might just be rolled out soon as a new update.

1. Lychee Sorbet

This is a mouth-watering dessert which only needs a handful of ingredients. Combine boiled lychee and mix it with sugar to make a syrup. Let this cool and then blend with lime juice to make a sorbet.

2. Prawn And Lychee Salad

This is an extremely easy but unique salad recipe for those who are salad lovers. Use shelled prawns. Marinate them in lime, spring onions, chilli flakes. Stir-fry them with spices you like the taste of. When done, add cubed mangoes and de-shelled lychees! Since it’s a salad, go for greens that will complement the taste and not overpower.

Vitamin D Deficiency is Not To Blame

There has been a notable correlation between low levels of Vitamin D and coronavirus. However, a Vitamin D deficiency is not to blame particularly. 

What Are Studies Saying?

PLoS Medicine published a study that suggests that boosting vitamin D levels will not help protect from COVID-19.

The test pool of the researchers was comprised of thousands of Europeans with ranging Vitamin D levels. A group of people were chosen who had a genetic variant that naturally gave them higher Vitamin D.

It was found that this group did not have a lower risk of COVID-19 infection which could also turn severe.

What Do The Results Suggest?

The results of the study suggest that boosting Vitamin D levels in bodies would protect people from the virus. This comes as a myth-breaker considering many started taking supplements of Vitamin D to protect themselves.

Other experts, however, believe that more research needs to be done. Especially on people from other regions considering Europeans have different genetic variations.

Immunity for Blood Cancer Patients

Blood cancer patients usually do not have antibody-producing cells in their bodies. Those suffering from serious forms of cancer usually lose these cells due to the different rigorous treatments they are subjected to.

They face a greater risk for severe COVID-19 without antibodies. However, research has found that other immune cells, called T cells, can learn to attack the virus. The study was published in Nature Medicine.

As a result, blood cancer patients are more likely to succumb to COVID-19 as compared to patients with solid tumors or without cancer. However, even amongst them, those with higher levels of CD8 T are more likely to survive than those with lower levels.

Future Speculations

The authors of the study speculate that CD8 T cell’s response to COVID-19 vaccines can protect blood cancer patients. That is, even if they do not have typical antibody responses.

“This work can help us advise patients while we wait for more vaccine-specific studies,” said co-author Dr Erin Bange of the University of Pennsylvania in a statement. While the vaccine response will not be as strong as in those without blood cancer, it still has a lot of potentials.

The video shows the 20-something actress lying on top of Aashir Wajahat, Wajahat Rauf’s son and Hania’s very close friend. The cherry on top is another teenage looking back also entangled with the two, stroking Hania Aamir’s hair as she jams to a song. 

The video is as uncomfortable to watch as is its description and we doubt there can be any explanation for this. Surely Netizens’ disappointment over the actress’ behaviour is not founded on unreasonable grounds.

Removing Traces

The video apparently initially was posted on her Instagram account either as part of a live or a story. Someone screen recorded it and started circulating it on Twitter. When it started blowing up, Aamir removed all traces of it from her account.

Many are now also speculating whether it’s fake!

Netizens are divided over the video. There are many who are disappointed and disturbed by what they see in the video. Not only is it inappropriate but it’s also strange to see such a friendship. Additionally, it has also been noted that Louis Vuitton (LV) colors resemble that of Israel. They seem to be quite tone-deaf and are, at best, a passive firm of political commentary. The brand was called out on Instagram. They said that the brand is showing a form of neutral stance while putting such extreme prices on the Keffiyeh.

Being Considerate

Despite everything, we must remember that we should always support Palestine. They are going through something extremely bad and they deserve to have their voice heard. If you are posting on social media, you are doing something that counts.

These brands don’t support the Palestinian people who are being brutally oppressed and under a lot of pain. Remember to boycott all brands who are going against Palestine!

Nestlé Pakistan Switches To Paper Straws For The Environment

Nestlé Pakistan has introduced paper straws across its entire ready-to-drink (RTD) product range, making it the first food and beverage company in Pakistan to do so. The initiative will eliminate over 400 million plastic straws, marking a breakthrough in its sustainable packaging transformation journey.

This is in line with the company’s global pledge to make its packaging 100% recyclable and reusable by 2025. Nestlé Pakistan’s brands – NESVITA, MILO®, FRUITAVITALS, NESFRUTA and NESCAFÉ’s RTD products – are now in the market with paper straws that are made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper.

All paper straws across RTD products have been sourced responsibly, meet stringent quality requirements and are safe to drink from.

Highlighting Nestlé’s global sustainable packaging transformation journey, Chedid stressed, “Our vision is that none of our packaging, including plastics, ends up in landfill nor in oceans, lakes and rivers. To achieve this, we have set ourselves the commitment of ensuring 100% of our packaging is reusable and recyclable by 2025, and the switch to paper straws is a major step towards this.”

In 2020, Nestlé Pakistan operationalised the Clean Hunza Project, with the support of District Council Hunza and Gilgit Baltistan Waste Management Company. The project focuses on managing 200 tons of packaging waste in 2021, eventually leading up to 1000 tons by 2025 to make Hunza waste-free.

Similarly, Nestlé Pakistan also partnered with the World Bank and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the TREK initiative to make northern areas waste-free and promote responsible tourism in the region.

Nestlé Pakistan is also one of the founding members of CoRe (Collect & Recycle), the first ever packaging alliance in Pakistan formed with the mission to eliminate packaging waste by enabling formal collection and recycling, while also raising awareness at a mass level.

These efforts to reduce the environmental impact of packaging waste by improving its management and recycling are in line with UN Sustainable Development Goals 12 and 17 – Responsible Consumption & Production and Partnership for Goals.

Apple is reportedly working on an all-new iPad Pro. The new thing being introduced in this model will be wireless charging. Excited? Because I am.

Aside from this, Apple is also working on redesigning the iPad mini. This will be the first time in 6 years and all because they might be wanting to cash in on the boom the product saw, amidst the pandemic.

Where the first product we discussed is concerned, it is planned for 2022. The latter, however, is for the latter half of 2021.

So what are the design changes in the iPad Pro

Originally, iPad Pro used aluminum, but now the tech giant might shift to a glass back. This switch would enable wireless charging in iPads but doing that will make it more like iPhones. The latter has also shifted to glass backs in recent times.

But how does wireless charging is enabled?

In wireless charging products, the power cable is replaced with an inductive mat. This allows the user to put their product on the mat to top up the battery. This is a common feature in smartphones, but it hasn’t yet entered the tablet category. Apple indeed is the avant-garde when it comes to technology. When they do something, others follow. In 2017, they introduced wireless charging 2017 for their phones. In 2020, they updated the wireless charging feature by making it magnet-based. MagSafe System facilitated this update; ensuring consistent charging speeds.

Currently, they are testing it out. With iPad mini, screen borders will be narrower. Moreover, they might also remove the home button.

Confirmed or not?

That said, these ideas are just being thrown out there. And Apple may cancel them at any point. No confirmed official statement was issued regarding this.

Building on it further, they may also introduce reverse wireless charging. This way, when you have charged your iPad pro through wireless charging, you will be able to charge your other Apple gadgets by placing them on your tablet. Did you know Apple had been working on this feature initially for iPhone though?

While India is trying to recover from a devastating second wave of coronavirus infections, at the same time, thousands of Covid-19 patients in the country developed the deadly “black fungus” infection. Now other countries are also reporting cases of Black fungus, and Russia and Pakistan are also some of them.

On May 25, Bangladesh also reported its first death caused by black fungus.

What Is Black Fungus?

Black fungus, or mucormycosis, is a fungal disorder that can affect the nose and sinuses. However, from there, it can also spread to the eyes, lungs, and brain. It also affects the skin and the result of long-standing immunocompromised conditions.

Oxygen Cylinders; The Cause Of Mucormycosis?

Dr. Arif Raza, ENT chief at the Khyber Teaching Hospital, states, “Black fungus is spreading among several coronavirus patients as they are using substandard and old oxygen cylinders.”

In a letter to his medical facility’s administration, Dr. Raza said: 12 patients underwent sinus surgeries, and out of them, two were infected with “black fungus” during their COVID-19 recovery.

“We need to take special care while filling oxygen into cylinders.”

According to the reporters, the fungus can settle at the bottom of the oxygen cylinders due to a lack of cleanliness.

According to the health experts, “If oxygen cylinders given to COVID-19 patients are not cleaned regularly, spores of fungus will settle in them.”

Who Is At Risk?

According to AIIMS guidelines, the following category of people are at higher risk for developing the infection:

  • Patients who have uncontrolled diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, and people with diabetes on steroids.
  • Patients with a chronic debilitating illness. Those who are on immunosuppressants or anticancer treatment.
  • Those who have contracted the covid infection and on medical support for a long time.
  • Patients on oxygen support – and needed nasal prongs, by mask, or on the ventilator
  • Patients taking high doses of steroids and tocilizumab
