The railway track between Raiti and Obaro Railway stations, at Ghotki, witnessed a traumatic incident on the morning of 7th June 2021. The two trains collided leaving 30 dead and almost 60 injured. Injured are in need of immediate evacuation from the site of the Ghotki Train Accident.

PM Imran Khan has reacted to the news and ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, Army and Rangers have arrived and are now involved in relief activities for the affected.

The two trains involved were Millat Express train and Sir Syed Express. Millat Express was headed to Sargodha from Karachi and the latter was coming from Rawalpindi. Millat Express derailed and fell on the other track. There, the other train hit Millat. This statement is released by Pakistan Railways. It now depends on the investigation ordered by the PM, whether this statement will be proved right or not. Until then, we offer condolence for the dead and wish for the quick recovery of the injured.
