Since the boom of ChatGPT, people have been utilizing Artificial Intelligence tools to compose emails, assignments, homework, presentations, and now even cover letters. However, a recent incident involving a viral cover letter on social media has drawn attention to the stupidity of AI or the person even. In this peculiarly funny case, the applicant forgot to replace the placeholder “[companyName,fallback-J]” with the actual name of the company. Have a look at this.

 

This oversight exposed the fact that the individual had used an automated template to draft the letter. To make things more embarrassing, the letter referred to the applicant as an IT graduate and claimed that Akhil possessed expertise in GoLang, C++, and JavaScript. The letter caught the attention of a Twitter user who shared it along with a caption that humorously stated, “Hi, IT graduate Akhil. Your code didn’t work. Sincerely, [companyName, fallback-]*”  

I mean I think this is a classic of the saying, “AI can help you if you’re dumb but AI can’t help you if you’re lazy!”. Now the decision is up to you guys. Was this pure laziness or was it just another time when AI proved that humans are still better than it but just not hard working? However, people on Twitter have already started reacting.

Overseas Pakistanis Can Now Use Tax Free Phones For More Than Two Months

For Pakistanis who are living overseas, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has a piece of good news. They can now easily use their mobile phones for two months without paying taxes. He also mentioned how they can even apply for an extension for this facility if they live in Pakistan for more than two months, however, that will require to be an “exceptional case”. Mr. Prime Minister also talked about how this will be helpful and that he is thankful to all the team involved in making this happen.

Instructions for applicatants 

Applicants are advised to use their own credentials, such as Passport, CNIC, or NICOP, to apply for temporary mobile device registration in the DIRBS system. It is important to ensure that the IMEIs programmed in their mobile devices are entered for registration. Applicants who have received mobile devices through couriers from abroad can sign up in DIRBS under the Courier Category to generate a Payment Slip Identification (PSID). After making the payment, the applicant can present the paid custom duties slip PSID and IMEI details to the relevant customs office for the release of their mobile device.

Dual Nationality Applicants

Applicants with dual nationality or a foreign passport can apply using the passport number they used for travel, along with their CNIC or NICOP if applicable, in the DIRBS system. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) generates custom duties, and a Payment Slip Identification (PSID) is issued. The PSID can be paid online through banking channels, ATMs, or at bank branches within 7 days from the date of PSID generation. Failure to make the payment within 7 days will result in the deletion of the PSID from the FBR database.

Temporary registration facilitation is available for visiting Overseas Pakistanis, foreign nationals, and others for a period of up to 120 days. This temporary registration is valid for one mobile phone only, and the 120-day period starts from the date of their arrival in Pakistan.

Sources stated, “Multan would get some share from Lahore, which will be the main venue in Pakistan. We have tried hard to get a fifth match and are still negotiating for it.” However, due to the decision being made by the previous PCB administration, finalizing additional matches at this point poses a challenge.

Google Play’s New Screening Policy For Digital Lending Apps In Pakistan

In Karachi, Pakistan on July 18, 2023, Google has recently introduced a policy aimed at safeguarding consumers in Pakistan from fake and unregistered loan apps. The new requirements, effective May 31, 2023, permit only a single Digital Lending App (DLA) to be published by Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs). Any attempt to publish multiple DLAs will result in the termination of the developer account and associated accounts.

Developers targeting users in Pakistan with personal loan apps are now required to complete the Personal Loan App Declaration form and submit relevant documentation before publishing their app. Proof of approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to offer digital lending services in the country must also be provided.

Google Play will additionally request further information or documents to ensure loan app compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements.

Personal loan apps operating in Pakistan without proper declaration and licensing will be removed from the Play Store. If the submitted license, registration, or declaration is no longer valid under applicable laws, developers must promptly remove their app from the Google Play Store.

Farhan S. Qureshi, Google’s Director for Pakistan, emphasized the importance of these measures, stating, “Google is implementing stringent requirements for Digital Lending Apps to mitigate financial risks and prioritize data privacy. We believe that these new requirements will provide an additional layer of protection for users.”

Under the updated rules, DLAs are prohibited from accessing sensitive data such as external storage, media images, contacts, and precise location. Additionally, short-term personal loan apps requiring full repayment within 60 days from the loan issue date are not permitted.

Pakistan is among a select group of countries where Google has implemented these additional requirements for DLAs. This policy update represents a significant step towards protecting consumers from harmful financial practices and ensuring data privacy.

Ever since people got to know that Shaheen Shah is officially the son-in-law of Shahid Afridi, his popularity grew drastically. The public rooted for the young couple and how adorable they were. Although Ansha has never been on camera, a few clips of Shaheen being shy and all lovey-dovey when talking about her have definitely made them the cutest cricket couple.

The video shows a clip of what looks like an interview of Shahid Afridi and his family along with Shaheen Shah Afridi. We can also see little Arwa Afridi being very much bored while her father is talking to the public. Shaheen then sees her being restless and decides to be the caring big brother-in-law that he is and picks her up and sits her on his lap.

The next brand painted in pink, for the upcoming Barbie movie, is Burger King.

This week, Burger King Brazil debuted a menu item with a Barbie motif. The cheeseburger in the BK Barbie Combo is topped with bacon pieces and drizzled with a vibrant pink sauce Burger King claims has a “smoky” flavor.

A pink vanilla milkshake with strawberry Nesquik powder will also be offered to customers. The drink will be topped off with a pink frosted donut after inserting the straw.
