A Purple Lamborghini in Pakistan

A photo was posted recently which is being circulated quite a lot on the internet. In it, Babar Azam is standing next to the open door of a purple Lamborghini and the news is claiming that he bought it. However, netizens have been trying to see the authenticity of it. The famed cricketer’s brother has a YouTube channel where their life updates are often shared. There has been no news of such a car from that channel, nor has there been any announcement.

Similarly, the car shown in the picture is a Lamborghini Aventador. However, there are currently no purple Aventadors in Pakistan. Such a car would surely make news even if it was seen simply standing on the street, it is one impressive vehicle. All this investigation by netizens points out to the fact that the photo is not of recent times, and it being shown out of context.

Believing the Information

Additionally, there is no concrete mention of any such car in Pakistan anywhere. We also found out that the picture is actually from last year when the cricketer visited London. We always encourage the verification of information before it should be spread.

Virat Kohli To Take Indefinite Break From ODIs & T20Is

Former captain Virat Kohli, who was the leading run-scorer in the recently concluded World Cup, would not be part of India’s white-ball matches during the South Africa tour.

India is scheduled to play a full series, featuring all three formats in South Africa commencing with a T20I on December 10 in Durban.

According to the Indian Express, Kohli conveyed his decision to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The tour encompasses three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Test matches, with Kohli expected to join in the Test matches.

The first Test begins on Boxing Day at Centurion, followed by the second Test at Cape Town.

The national selection committee, headed by former India all-rounder Ajit Agarkar, will soon unveil the Indian squad across all formats.

Kohli’s standout performance in the World Cup saw him amass 765 runs in 11 innings, clinching three centuries and earning the prestigious Player of the Tournament title.

Virat Kohli also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most ODI centuries and became the first to score 50 centuries.

“He (Kohli) has informed the BCCI and selectors about his break from white-ball cricket and will confirm his return for white-ball cricket later.

Standard Chartered announces Winners of WomenInTech Cohort 5

Karachi, 29 November, 2023: Standard Chartered Bank (SCBPL), in partnership with INNOVentures Global (Private) Limited, announced the winners of #SCWomenInTech Cohort 5, 2023. The WomeninTech program is designed to foster gender representation within technology-based entrepreneurship, with a special emphasis on promoting financial inclusion.

Launched in Pakistan during 2019, the WomenInTech programme aims to support gender representation within technology-based entrepreneurship. During the selection phase of this programme in 2023 a Cohort of twenty-five start-ups was selected, representing businesses in fourteen different business verticals. The participants got the opportunity to go through an extensive capacity-building programme complemented by a seed grant for the winners. Over the years, WomenInTech programme has awarded approximately PKR 30 million as grant money. Besides these declared grants awarded between the years 2019 to 2022, more than two start-ups have undisclosed investments raised through one successful acquisition exit.

As the ‘Application Phase’ of the WomenInTech 2023 was completed recently, there was a significant increase in the number of women founders showing interest, as more than 1700 applications for participation were received from more than 100 cities and towns. Almost 300 applications were selected for pitching before a screening jury. Finally, 50 applicants from 13 cities were invited to pitch, based on their eligibility criteria and the uniqueness of their start-ups.

The selected Cohort of 25 start-ups has undergone a 2.5 month capacity building programme, to learn business management skills and enhance their knowledge for accelerating their growth. These sessions were conducted by twelve subject matter experts, while the Cohort was also introduced to six leading local and international role models from the Industry and beyond. The founders were also matched, one-on-one, with 25 expert mentors, for advising them through the acceleration period on their proposed technology project.

Pakistani actress Nimra Khan recently cleared the air on her 2014 Tragic Car Crash, denying allegations of drunk driving.

In an exclusive podcast interview with FHM, she courageously addressed the misconceptions surrounding the drug tests after the incident.

Contrary to speculations, Nimra clarified that the accident was not the result of substance abuse but rather attributed to overexertion and sleep deprivation.

“I didn’t know where the car was going. The car sped up to 180 with my weight on the accelerator and crashed into a jeep.”

Nimra acknowledged the potentially fatal outcome, stating, “I might have survived if my foot had slipped off the accelerator, but with the crash at 180-speed, the steering lever thrust into my liver, and my head was injured with glass pieces. My liver and brain were completely damaged.”

“The anesthetics they were injecting into me could have caused kidney failure or brain hemorrhage.”

Before being rushed to the operating theatre, she vividly recalled the scene, “My head started to bleed, and the doctor suggested a CT scan. My father insisted on a full-body scan, and that’s when they found brain damage and liver damage. If they had operated before that, I could have gone into a coma for a lifetime or been paralyzed.”

Expressing gratitude for her survival, Nimra attributed it to her religious practices, saying, “My sadqa saved me, and I was habitual of offering Tahajud (midnight prayers).”

Enduring a 19-day coma after the tragedy, Nimra Khan continues to carry the physical remnants of the accident with metal rods in her leg, considering herself ‘Iron Woman.’

In a recent verdict, the Supreme Court of Pakistan rendered a decisive judgment against Bahria Town (Pvt) Ltd. Imposing a penalty of Rs1 million for what was deemed as a wastage of the court’s time. Beyond the monetary fine, the court directed the real estate giant to channel this amount to the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT). Which is known for offering crucial healthcare services without charges.

Disputed Land and Unfulfilled Obligations

The ruling, encapsulated in a comprehensive 13-page written order. Highlighting Bahria Town’s purported failure to adhere to a prior agreement following a 2019 SC judgment. The company, according to the court, received less land than specified in the judgment, triggering a withholding of payments that had been contractually agreed upon.

Underlying this dispute was a survey conducted by the Survey of Pakistan (SoP). Incurring an expense of Rs1 million, which substantiated that Bahria Town possessed more land than it claimed. The discrepancy between the land in possession and the alleged shortfall was starkly exposed in the report, debunking Bahria Town’s assertions.

Negligence and Financial Irregularities

The court’s assessment pointed out Bahria Town’s purported attempts to avoid payment under the guise of land insufficiency. The company allegedly utilized applications alleging a land deficit as a ruse to evade its financial commitments, disregarding their obligations as outlined in the consent order.

Additionally, the court expressed dismay over remittances made into the SC registrar’s accounts without seeking proper authorization. The World Expo is one of the most grand events in the history of the entire world. It is aimed at finding solutions for the foreseeable future. When it comes to hosting extravagant events, the middle east is certainly one in the middle of it. Dubai was the perfect location for the last World Expo and it attracted quite a lot of people.

Newly appointed Pakistan’s Team Director Mohammad Hafeez disclosed details of his conversations with all-rounder Imad Wasim and pace bowler Mohammad Amir.

During a press conference, Hafeez revealed his discussions with Imad Wasim, expressing that Wasim was part of the team’s plans for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, despite not having signed the central contract at that time.

“I reached out to Imad Wasim, assuring him of his role in Pakistan cricket. Despite being awarded a central contract, he was yet to confirm his availability [for the New Zealand series],” stated Hafeez. “However, he later opted out of the series and announced his retirement two days after.”

While acknowledging Imad Wasim’s contributions to Pakistan cricket, Hafeez extended his best wishes for Wasim’s future endeavours.

Hafeez further detailed his conversation with Mohammad Amir, who surprised the cricketing world with his sudden retirement in 2020 at the age of 28.
