Former Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim is set to make an impact in the Big Bash League (BBL) Season 13 by joining the Melbourne Stars alongside fellow countrymen Haris Rauf and Usama Mir.

Imad, who previously played for Melbourne Renegades, will grace the Stars’ squad in the tournament’s later stages after the Christmas break, donning the green jersey for his new team.

Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch expressed excitement about Imad’s role, highlighting his left-arm spin and batting prowess.

“We saw Imad as a valuable addition to our squad, especially with Liam available for the initial three matches. His bowling skills and ability to bolster our batting lineup are assets,” stated Blair Crouch.

He also anticipated a strong Pakistani fan presence at the MCG, where Imad joins his former national teammates Usama Mir and Haris Rauf.

Imad’s entry into the BBL came shortly after he announced his retirement from international cricket, focusing solely on league cricket from this point forward.

The Melbourne Stars’ BBL 13 squad features notable names including Scott Boland, Joe Burns, Glenn Maxwell, Haris Rauf, and the recently added Imad Wasim.

Currently, Imad is showcasing his talent with the Deccan Gladiators in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 8.

Notably, Imad Wasim became a part of a significant trade in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), transferring to Islamabad United while Hasan Ali joined Karachi Kings.

Imad Wasim took to X, shortly after the news of his PSL transfer, thanking Karachi Kings’ management and expressing excitement for new challenges at Islamabad United.
