The World Expo is one of the most grand events in the history of the entire world. It is aimed at finding solutions for the foreseeable future. When it comes to hosting extravagant events, the middle east is certainly one in the middle of it. Dubai was the perfect location for the last World Expo and it attracted quite a lot of people.
The World Expo is a multi-month event that is held after careful observation of each of the candidates looking to host. It was first held in London in 1851 and has become quite a tradition since then. It is held once every 5 years and goes on for quite a few months. This lets the entire experience of the expo come straight for the visitor.
Riyadh as a Host
Out of a handful of candidates, one had to be selected as the host of the next World Expo iterations. Since the 2025 one is going to be taking place in Osaka, Japan, the 2030 slot was up for grabs. After each candidate presented its own idea of the expo and preached it well, Riyadh was chosen as the destination for the World Expo 2030.
Yes, one of the most well-established cities in the world is now going to be the home for the next expo. This works quite well in the favor of Saudi Arabia since it really gives their future goals a push. It brings Saudi Arabia in a spotlight that lets them showcase their vision for the future.
Headed for the Future
The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Paris is in charge of organizing the World Expo, and votes are cast by its 182 member states to choose the winner. The theme of the 2030 Expo is going to be ‘The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow’. From what we see, the theme is going to focus on how the world has changed during the last couple of decades and how it intends to go further.
It also encourages unity among people and countries to ensure a healthier future is in our hands. The Riyadh Expo will take place from October 2030 to March 2031, which means there is still plenty of time to plan and travel when the event is here! For now, we will keep our eye on the 2025 World Expo.
