Subway has dropped a bombshell on its consumers after a price hike in its regular products. Now customers can get a mini Subway for Rs 300 and it is certainly not worth the quantity or money.

The mini-sub which costs Rs 300 is the mini version of a regular 6-inch Subway. While the decision must have been taken to satisfy the customers after a price hike of the regular Subway, Twitter is simply not amused.

The global health body, World Health Organization (WHO), is closely monitoring a fresh strain of Covid-19 called EG.5, also known as “Eris.” This variant is gaining prevalence in nations such as China and the United States. Tagged as a “variant of interest,” it’s being observed for potential mutations that might increase its severity.

As of now, the WHO asserts that Eris poses minimal global public health risk, comparable to other concurrent variants. The WHO declared in May that Covid-19 was no longer an international public health emergency but a persistent health concern.

Symptoms and Transmission

Eris showcases symptoms akin to previous variants: fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, runny nose, and altered taste and smell. While Eris exhibits increased prevalence, growth advantages, and immune evasion traits, disease severity remains unchanged, states the WHO.

The variant, officially labeled EG.5, acquired the nickname “Eris” online, which later popularized its EG.5.1 subvariant.

Global Presence and Dominance

Sequencing data submitted to the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) by August 7 highlights the majority of EG.5 cases in China. Following closely are the U.S., South Korea, Japan, and Canada. It has also been identified in Australia, Singapore, the U.K., France, Portugal, and Spain.

In the U.S., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals EG.5 as the leading strain, comprising 17.3% of cases by the week ending August 5.

Pakistan, August 16th, 2023 – The Board of Directors of Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) announced half year results for the company on August 16th. The company posted a profit after tax of PKR 3.5 billion compared to the profit after tax of PKR 7.5 billion made in the same period last year.

On June 14th, 2023, Shell Petroleum Company Limited, a subsidiary of Shell plc, announced its intention to sell its holding in SPL.

The period witnessed devaluation of the Rupee, rising inflation and macroeconomic uncertainty. Continued economic challenges resulted in slowdown in economic activity, decrease in demand and risks to supply security for the company. The results also reflect the impact of one-off technical service fee waiver received from Shell International Petroleum Company.

Thanks to OREO and Chicken Shop’s new twisted line – Lndoners will be able to experience a chicken burger and chips themed after cookies. Next month, consumers will be able to purchase the OREO Twist meal from the well-known chocolate biscuit company and the London-based chain of fried chicken restaurants for a certain time.

Oreo X Burger Chain Collaborate 

The new cookie and chicken combo dish features a blend of sweet and savory flavors. A chicken burger is also offered in OREO charcoal bread, in addition to chips covered in OREO crumbs. The consumers will be able to finish their meal with an OREO milkshake that also includes the renowned chocolate sauce from Chicken Shop.

Oreo Dinner Availability 

Ahead of the launch, the collaboration was announced by the cookie giant on their social media channels. The Oreo-themed dinner, which will be offered at all six of Chicken Shop’s locations in London starting next month, will only be available for a few days. From September 1 to September 3, six Chicken Shop locations in London will offer the OREO Twist meal.

Those who are lucky enough may even receive the OREO Twist meal for free, but they must act quickly. A total of 150 meals will be given away for free on a first-come, first-served basis. These free meals will be up for grabs at the Chicken Shop locations in London throughout the meal’s three-day restricted run.

This name change follows the recent acquisition of a controlling stake in Summit Bank by prominent UAE investor, H.E. Nasser Abdulla Hussain Lootah.

H.E. Nasser Abdulla Hussain Lootah and his son Mr. Abdulla Lootah have visioned this pivotal transformation that reflects the Bank’s commitment to a renewed purpose and underscores its mission to providing exceptional financial services and innovative products to its valued customers in line with Shariah-compliant principles.

The EOGM was attended by the Board of Directors and senior executive leadership, alongside esteemed shareholders of the Bank.

 

Price of Petrol Increased by Rs. 17.50 Per Liter, Diesel by Rs. 20

The interim government has revealed a significant increase in the costs of petroleum products, setting new record highs for both petrol and high-speed diesel.

According to a statement from the Finance Division, petrol’s price will rise by Rs. 17.50 per liter, and high-speed diesel will surge by Rs. 20 per liter.

The Finance Division’s brief notice mentioned that global petroleum prices surged over the past two weeks, prompting a revision in consumer prices within Pakistan. Post the adjustment, petrol will be priced at Rs. 290.45 per liter, and high-speed diesel will be sold at Rs. 293.40 per liter.

In the previous review, conducted just before the change in government, petrol’s cost was raised by Rs. 19.95 per liter, and high-speed diesel witnessed an increase of 19.90 per liter. The hike, enacted on August 1st, elevated petrol to Rs. 272.95 per liter and high-speed diesel to Rs. 273.40 per liter.

“This is a business.” He added.

“The couple goes abroad together at their own will. They pay a certain amount and get their nationality. For them, it is a business.”

He later requested the authorities to maintain a check and balance on this whole situation.
