As the nation gears up for Kashmir Day, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali has announced a public holiday on the 5th of February 2017, the notification was issued in Islamabad on Tuesday.
On behalf of Kashmir Day all government, semi-government offices, and institutes will remain closed. Nisar Ali also mentioned that in solidarity with Kashmir and to pay respect to the Kashmiris who have been martyred, a one minute silence will also be observed at 10 am.

The holiday is being observed to show the moral and political support Pakistan has towards its fellow Kashmiris during their struggle.
