UPDATE: Bahria University Islamabad has rolled out a press release to shut down reports of the suspension of its programs by HEC.
Taking to Facebook, BU revealed that the reports being circulated in the press are unauthentic, unconfirmed, false and incorrect.

Earlier, reports went viral that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has recommended shutting down 16-degree programs of Bahira University (BU) Islamabad.
According to the Daily Times, BU was offering these courses without the implementation of criteria and guidelines set by HEC.

However, the statement released by Bahria University clarifies that:
All programs of Bahria University are recognized and accredited by respective regulatory bodies including HEC, PEC, PBC, NBEAC, NCEAC and PMDC. QS World University Rankings Asia 2019 in recognition of Bahria University’s quality programs has ranked it among top 400 universities of Asia in which only 23 Pakistani universities could qualify.
