Sunny-Leone

Update: The drop-dead gorgeous B-town Diva, Sunny Leone, works her magic once again! The ‘Beauty Queen’ has once again become the most search for celebrity on the internet!

The 35-year-old has emerged as the most searched Bollywood celebrity in the last five years, toppling industry bigwigs including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

“My team brought this to my notice recently. It’s always a good feeling to see how far fans have got me. I attribute this to my team, whose hard work has got us here.”– Sunny Leone

According to the report, Sunny’s biggest fan-following comes from India, followed by the United States. Though the actress hasn’t delivered any major hit in the past year, she has actively turned to the digital medium for promotions. Her popularity on the platform has worked in her favour.

Priyanka Chopra has secured the second spot on the list. Maximum searches for the actress came from India, Pakistan, USA and Canada. Deepika comes a close third. While new entries like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Tiger Shroff have emerged as most trending celebrities. Senior actor Amitabh Bachchan is also mentioned, however, he ranks a bit lower.

Google has released its list of most searched Indians and guesses who managed to top the list yet again? It’s none other than the nation’s queen of controversies, former adult starlet Sunny Leone!

Beating Bollywood bigwigs like Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone along with luminaries like Narendra Modi and APJ Abdul Kalam, the actress stole all the limelight and emerged as the most popular celebrity on the search engine.

Consequently,  B-town’s baby doll had quite an eventful year. A Mumbai housewife sued her for a case of obscenity and even got accused of causing a rise in the rape rate in India when she starred in a steamy condom ad.

Even when she had two major flops with Ek Paheli Leela and Kuch Kuch Locha Hai, the sultry Sunny still remained a highly searched superstar. What’s more, her upcoming movie Mastizaade having trouble with the censor board and her newly released music video “Super Girl From China” being tagged as sexist also compelled Indians to search for the actress.

What’s shocking, that even Salman Khan had quite a roller coaster ride of a year. With his hit-and-run case causing all the hullabaloo on social media and with the back to back success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, the nation’s Dabangg boy could not steal Leone’s thunder. Eventually, he is  the runner-up on the list of Google India’s most searched.

The late APJ Abdul Kalam is on the third spot, followed by Katrina Kaif on number 4.
