Pakistanis will be facing slow internet speeds due to a breakdown in the IMEWE submarine cable. This cable connects Pakistan with rest of the world is now not available for Pakistani ISPs. According to details, IMEWE international submarine cable might remain unavailable for Pakistan for the next 2 weeks.

IMEWE is a major submarine cable for Pakistan that transports more than two third of country’s internet bandwidth.

PTCL is a major user of IMEWE, which means that if you are on PTCL then it is very likely for you to experience slow browsing, sluggish download speeds and high latencies.

PTCL has said that it is arranging additional bandwidth through other submarine cables to cater for unavailable IMEWE bandwidth capacity.
