BMW Partially Reveals All-new Z4 Roadster

Right now might not seem like the best time in the motor industry to unveil a new model that isn’t some sort of SUV, but that isn’t stopping BMW as the Bavarian automaker has partially revealed its all-new version of the Z4.

In what is a slightly unusual move, BMW has allowed the media the chance to test drive the new roadster in prototype form and issued an extensive album of images, but the exterior and the dashboard have remained camouflaged.

Part of the reason for exposing the prototype to such scrutiny could be as much to do with the old Z4 as the new one. Although the last Z4 certainly looked the part, it’s probably not unfair to say the driving experience fell somewhat short of what was promised by the styling, and didn’t quite live up to that well-known BMW “ultimate driving machine” slogan.

To give an idea of how far the new model has diverged from its predecessor, BMW driving dynamics expert Florian Dietrich insists: “The only thing we carried over was the name.”

BMW product manager Andreas Ederer explains: “The first generation of Z4 was sporty. The second generation was comfortable. This [new one] can do both. The last version was a car to drive on a Sunday afternoon. This is a car you’ll want to drive on Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon.”

But in this age where the SUV rules supreme it’s probably safe to suggest the car wouldn’t exist at all if it wasn’t for BMW’s current technical partnership with Toyota, which sees this third-generation Z4 sharing a platform with the upcoming new Toyota Supra.

Buyers of the new M40i will have limited options for upgrading, but that’s because this car is being designed as pretty much a complete package. It will already come standard with the likes of performance brakes, electronic adaptive dampers, a limited-slip differential, adjustable suspension with MacPherson steel struts at the front and a multi-link set-up at the back.

Under the hood will be the 3.0-liter six-cylinder powerplant from the M240i, and in the Z4 it’s expected to develop somewhere in the region of 350 bhp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque.

The final production version is set to go on sale in March of next year, but the car will have its first reveal at Pebble Beach in August before full specifications are finally confirmed at the Paris Motor Show in September.

Boy Commits Suicide at Centaurus Mall Islamabad!

In a sad state of events, a young boy, who seems to be in his teenage years committed suicide a couple of days ago.

The boy, identified as Ammar a student of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad jumped off the 3rd floor of the mall and scuffled to his fatal injuries.

Ammar had visited Centaurus Mall with his sister, brother, and a family friend. He had tried to commit suicide twice before, and the family had thought that he was under possession of a supernatural power.

Facebook user Tehreem Tahir shared a post about why Ammar did what he did after talking to a neighbor and his teacher. Tehreem came across that he was very disturbed because he was bullied because of his thin voice and skin color.

She wrote:

“The story behind the Centaurus incident.

This post isn’t to blame anyone, it’s an awareness post. In reference to my last post about the accident in Centaurus, there were so many different stories on how this happened. I talked to his neighbor and teacher to find out the real story.

Ammar was in Centaurus with his sister, brother and a family friend. He was going through a very tough time from the past 1-1.5 years, presently he was going through a treatment as well. Before that, he acted in a way that the family thought he was under an influence of jin. In this time period, he tried committing suicide twice.

One of the reasons why he was like this was that he was bullied at the college people made fun of his voice as he had a thin voice called him ‘kalay’. He was a science student as his mother wished, but he wanted to go in arts as it was difficult for him. He changed many schools but it didn’t help.

Mental illness is as serious as physical illness and its time we understand that. We are moving towards a time where the family structure is getting weak, with the new technology in hand we are connected to so many people yet we are alone and isolated. It is said that the best therapy is a deep honest conversation. Everyone needs someone in his/her life with whom they can share every tiny bit.

As you can see in the footage without thinking twice he just runs towards the escalator, puts his feet on the other side and jumps and then people are saying suicide is haram and what has he done to his parents just think for once imagine what battle he was fighting which made him take this painful step of jumping from the 4th floor.

In the end, I would like to say that. Be there for everyone around you, it’s time you understand what bullying can do to someone. You don’t know what battles they are fighting inside if someone ever talks about suicide take it seriously and help them seek a psychologist as there is nothing wrong in seeing one.

If a normal person can go to a doctor for the illness he can go to a psychologist for mental illness. Every single human being has a great role in this world, we are here not to live in isolation but with the people around us. Make honest conversations and help people by literally just listening to what they feel. It will help them a lot I swear.

Boys have the same emotions as girls lets just stop telling them to man up and not cry they have emotions they also feel weak. In our society just to man up they keep everything inside as they don’t want to be made fun of which builds frustration inside and it grows. The percentage of men getting a heart attack is higher than women and it’s for a reason. Let them cry, talk about what makes them upset even just listening will help.

And sorry for the last post, heard so many different stories even when I was standing there but its all clear now after talking to the boys teacher and neighbor.”

Ammar’s incident has once again highlighted the much-needed awareness on mental health for children in educational institutes and the need to apply strict policies on bullying. It also makes us ponder upon where are we headed as human beings and what have our children been learning which led to a child killing himself.

Aamir Liaquat Hints at Leaving PTI

Aamir Liaquat knows the art of staying in the spotlight!

Just last week, he made a dramatic return to his Ramadan transmission after PEMRA declared a ban on his show, following a controversial feud between religious scholars.

Apparently, the televangelist turned lucky and Islamabad High Court permitted him to appear on television again.

Now in yet another twist, Aamir Liaquat has made it to the news again and this time it seems he will be quitting his political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), just after 3 months of joining.

In an angry tweet, the scholar-turned- entertainer expressed his disappointment over being refused a ticket by PTI’s Karachi leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi.

Sullen and annoyed at the party, Aamir Bhai announced that he will reveal his future political course by today.

The host also accused PTI members of abusing him!

He ended up his Twitter rant by threatening that he will open the pandora box if immediate action is not taken against the matter.

Well PTI better not mess with Aamir Liaquat, that too when the elections are just around the corner.

Aamir Liaquat has a long history of switching channels, becoming the only host in Pakistan who has worked for almost every network of the nation.

Not to forget, he left MQM in 2008 after a disagreement with the leaders of the political party!

Later, he rejoined the squad again in 2015 and shocked everybody with his impulsive nature.

He parted ways again with MQM in 2016, following the party’s supremo Altaf Hussain’s ‘anti-Pakistan’ speech.

However, he declared that he will NEVER enter politics ever again after his departure from his old party.

In March 2018, Aamir Liaquat declared that he is joining PTI and became a strong supporter of Imran Khan.

Veere Di Wedding might be minting massive moolah at the Bollywood box-office. However, the flick has ignited a wave of backlash from Pakistan.

In an interview, one of the ‘veeres’, Swara Bhasker, said some strong statements about Pakistan.

Speaking to  Rajeev Masand of News 18 on June 2, the actress labeled Pakistan a “failing state”:

“I don’t understand why we keep taking pleasure from all the silly things that happen in Pakistan”. The lady also went ahead to claim that Pakistani’s have a “way worse vocabulary than we do”.

Needless to say, her comments not only left a bad taste in the mouth for Pakistani’s who had been excitedly waiting for the the film, but has also created a social media storm!

WWDC 2018: Will There be Any New Hardware Reveals?

Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, or WWDC, takes place June 4-8, 2018, at the McEnery Convention Center in San José, California.

A few days ahead of the famous event, the only thing known for sure is that Apple will outline the main updates coming to its various operating systems (macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS). It’s not yet known whether the firm will unveil any new hardware.

Various new features and functions for macOS 10.14, iOS 12, watchOS 5 and tvOS 12 will be announced at WWDC, so that developers can tailor their upcoming creations to future versions of Apple’s operating systems.

The new features are unlikely to roll out to users before fall, which is when Apple usually releases its major updates. Reports suggest a new Digital Health tool for iOS 12 could be showcased, while new features that use AR may also be in the spotlight.

Developers and students attending the event will have access to more than 1,000 Apple engineers, giving them the latest details about the various APIs available to them, whether for SiriKit, HomeKit or HealthKit, etc.

Apple could also spill the beans on its new, more powerful MacBook and iPad devices. The firm could, for example, use WWDC to announce the imminent release of new computers featuring the latest generation of Intel Core i7 (Coffee Lake) processors.

Rumors even suggest that Apple could present a new MacBook Air with a Retina display, 10 years after launching the line, which has barely been updated in almost three years.

As for iPad, Apple could unveil new devices with the firm’s latest A11 processor, already used in the firm’s latest iPhone handsets. The new tablet could also get Face ID facial recognition technology, which debuted on the iPhone X in 2017.

While it’s unlikely we’ll see a new iPhone at WWDC, the event could be the ideal place for Apple to reveal its eagerly awaited wireless charging system, called AirPower.

The conference will be streamed live on the WWDC website and mobile app.

Sarfaraz Ahmed Proud of England Draw Despite Headingley Hammering

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed insisted he was proud of his youthful side even after an innings and 55-run defeat at Headingley denied them a Test-series victory in England.

That overwhelming loss, completed inside three days on Sunday, meant the two-match campaign ended all square at 1-1 following what Sarfraz said was Pakistan’s “perfect” nine-wicket victory in the first Test at Lord’s.

Defeat left Pakistan still looking for their first Test series success in England since 1996, when fast-bowling greats Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis were in the side.

Despite skittling England out for just 184 in their first innings at Lord’s, Sarfraz elected to bat after winning the toss in Leeds.

While the Headingley pitch provided a typically good surface, overhead conditions quickly became humid and cloudy, creating a swing-friendly environment that made batting difficult.

Even so, Pakistan would still have expected to have made more than their 174, which featured a third fifty in as many Tests from teenage leg-spinner Shadab Khan.

That total meant they were always chasing the game and, were just one individual effort away from conceding a large first-innings lead.

Having fielded brilliantly as a side at Lord’s, Pakistan saw Hasan Ali drop a routine catch when Jos Buttler was on four.

The dashing Buttler punished Pakistan with an unbeaten 80 in an England reply of 363.

Pakistan, 189 behind on first innings, then slumped to 134 all out in 46 overs second time around as their top order again failed to fire.

But having also overseen a victory over Test debutants Ireland in Dublin during this tour, Sarfraz was pleased with Pakistan’s progress.

“When we came here people thought we will not win one game but the way we played at Lord’s everything was perfect, our fast bowling was perfect, our batting and fielding were perfect,” Sarfraz told reporters.

“It’s disappointing that we had a chance to win the series but unfortunately we didn’t play well here.”

– ‘1-1 good for us’ –

Overall there were still plenty of plus-points for Pakistan, not least the bowling of seamer Mohammad Abbas who took a match-winning eight for 64 at Lord’s.

“I am proud of my young team, the way Abbas is bowling, Shadab is doing well, Faheem Ashraf did well, so I’m really disappointed that we didn’t win (at Headingley) but 1-1 is good for us,” said wicket-keeper Sarfraz.

Experienced opening batsman Azhar Ali averaged just 16.75 during the series while Sarfraz averaged 10.33 — well below his career Test mark of 37.78.

“Azhar is our main batsman, it’s correct he is not in good nick but he scored a good fifty at Lord’s,” said Sarfraz.

As for his own batting, Sarfraz added: “I am not satisfied with my batting in the series.

“I committed mistakes and played a few bad shots.”

Pakistan arrived for this tour having gone several months without a Test since a 68-run defeat by Sri Lanka in Dubai and Sarfraz said playing three in relatively quick succession was always likely to prove a tough challenge for his team.

“We played our last Test in October, so it’s difficult when you play a Test after five or six months. Test cricket is a different format, you have to adjust to five-day cricket. If you have to field for two-three days, it’s tough,” explained Sarfraz.

“The more you play Test cricket, you get to mature as a Test player. Now we have five Tests in the UAE (two against Australia and three against New Zealand), then we have three in South Africa and that will help us mature as a Test team,” he added.

That actress is none other than Swara Bhaskar!

The same Swara who had visited our homeland and had been all praises for it until now.

In a recent interview, Swara said;

“For some reason, I have to keep answering for that. I don’t know why people think I’m a spokesperson for the Pakistani government. What do you expect from a state that’s run by Sharia Laws?”

“They’re a nonsecular state. I’m not surprised at all. Why should we hold up Pakistan, which is a failing state — I don’t understand why we keep taking pleasure and feeling a sense of self-worth from all the silly things that happen in Pakistan. Apologies to all my Pakistani friends right now. Rest assured, Pakistanis have way worse vocabulary than we do. I know,” she added.

In a response to Swara’s statement, Pakistani actress Urwa Hocane took it on social media to bash the B-Town actress for the choice of words used.

The Punjab Nahi Jaungi superstar was not the only one to raise her voice on this matter.

Actor Gohar Rasheed also gave his two cents.

He added that this stunt was pulled off for publicity as the actress is not as famous as her two superstar co-stars Kareena and Sonam Kapoor.

Gohar also took her on a flashback to the 2015 interview in which she has praised Lahore while comparing it to other major countries around the world.

In the end, he simply stated “THERE IS NO POWER ON EARTH THAT CAN UNDO PAKISTAN 🇵🇰 “

Even Amreena Rana Khan roasted Sara after hearing her controversial statements!

Mehwish Hayat also took to Twitter and bashed Swara for her mean remarks!

And of course, Momina Mustehsan too couldn’t stay silent on the matter!

However, the hottest debate at the moment on social media is whether Swara Bhaskar is an actress or a chameleon?

.K. Rowling rReveals ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ is Already in the Pipeline

J.K. Rowling has confirmed that she has already begun working on the screenplay for the third instalment “Fantastic Beasts” franchise, just six months out from the release of the second film in the series.

The best-selling author said she’s also just completed a fourth crime novel under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, which she’s written in addition to “Fantastic Beasts” and the “Harry Potter” series which initially catapulted her to stardom.

“I’ve just finished the fourth Galbraith novel, ‘Lethal White,’ and I’m now writing the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts 3”, she wrote via an online Q&A hosted on her website.

“Fantastic Beasts” focuses on former Hogwarts student Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayn in the first film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” — which debuted in 2016 — with the second instalment set to premiere in November (also starring Redmayn), and the third picture scheduled for 2020.

The plan is for the “Harry Potter” spinoff to span to five pictures in total, with Rowling expected to act as a producer on all the forthcoming films, although she noted that the majority of her input usually comes early on in the process: “Warner Bros. and David Yates, the director, have always let me have my say, though not necessarily the final word,” she explained.

Outside of the Harry Potter/wizarding world, Rowling is also planning to start work on a new, non-Potter project for younger readers — once the “Fantastic Beasts 3” script is put to bed.

“After that I’ll be writing another book for children,” Rowling said. “I’ve been playing with the (non-Harry Potter/wizarding world) story for about six years, so it’s about time I get it down on paper,” she said.

Here we round up some recent research which shows how swapping the car for the humble bike could give our health a big boost.

Improved mood and reduced stress 

A small Canadian study published last year found that cycling to work can help get your day off to a better start, with those who commuted to work on their bike arriving in a better mood and with a lower level of stress than those who took the car. This positive effect also helped cyclists have a better day in general, reducing stress and even boosting work performance.

A lower risk of heart disease

UK research published earlier this year found that cycling or walking to work could help cut the risk of developing or dying from cardiovascular disease (CVD) or stroke. The large-scale study looked at over 350,000 participants to find that regular commuters who used a more active means of travel for commuting, such as cycling, had an 11% lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD) and 30% lower risk of fatal CVD. Regular commuters who cycled in their spare time had a 43% lower risk of fatal CVD. Even those who were not regular commuters but took the bike occasionally saw benefits, showing an 8% lower risk of all-cause mortality.

Reduced risk of Type 2 diabetes

A large-scale study carried out by the University of Southern Denmark found that cycling can help reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes. After looking at 24,623 men and 27,890 women, researchers found that those who cycled regularly were less likely to develop type 2 diabetes, and the more they cycled each week, the lower the risk was. The results also indicated that even those who took up regular cycling at a later age still benefited from a 20% lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes than non-cyclists.

It can help keep off extra weight

UK researchers who compared the daily modes of transport of nearly 150,000 participants found that cycling was one of the most effective forms of exercise for keeping trim and losing weight and was even more effective than walking. Those who cycled to work had lower BMIs than those who walked, drove, or took public transport and lower levels of body fat than those who took public transport or the car.

It’s safe for sexual health

Two separate studies published earlier this year found that cycling does not affect a man’s sexual or urinary health or a woman’s gynecological health. The first, carried out by the University of California, found that male cyclists’ sexual and urinary health was no worse than swimmers’ or runners’, although adjusting the handlebar height to be higher or even with the saddle reduced the chance of genital numbness and saddle sores. Researchers from UC San Francisco also found that although female cyclists had a higher risk of genital numbness and saddle sores than non-cyclists, as well as a higher risk of urinary tract infections, they showed no worse sexual or urinary function, and in fact high-intensity cyclists may benefit from improved sexual function.

Facebook in MASSIVE Trouble as Stats go Down the Drain!

Facebook is rapidly losing ground against rival internet platforms in attracting and keeping US teenagers, a survey showed Thursday.

The Pew Research Center report confirms a trend seen in other surveys, showing a sharp drop in Facebook’s share of what had long been a core age segment for the huge social network.

The survey found 51 percent of US teens ages 13 to 17 use Facebook, compared with 85 percent for YouTube, 72 percent for Instagram and 69 percent who are on Snapchat.

The landscape has shifted since a 2014-15 Pew survey which found Facebook leading other social networks with 71 percent of the teen segment.

According to the survey, 95 percent of the teens survey said they used a smartphone and 45 percent were online “almost constantly,” with both figures showing increases from prior surveys.

“The social media environment among teens is quite different from what it was just three years ago,” said Pew researcher Monica Anderson, the lead author of the report.

“Back then, teens’ social media use mostly revolved around Facebook. Today, their habits revolve less around a single platform. At the same time we’ve seen this shift, teens are more digitally connected than ever.”

The survey showed a split over the impact of social media on the lives of the teens.

Pew found 31 percent said social media has had a mostly positive impact, with 24 percent describing its effect as mostly negative. The remaining 45 percent said it was neither.

Those who reported a positive impact cited the ability to stay connected, find news and people with similar interests.

Others who found social media harmful cited the potential for online bullying, spreading of false information and addiction.

Facebook is the world’s biggest social network with some two billion regular users.

But some surveys and analysts suggest it is losing appeal to younger users amid a rise in services like Snapchat and Facebook-owned Instagram.

A report earlier this year by the research firm eMarketer said Snapchat is drawing youths away from Facebook at a quicker clip than Facebook-owned Instagram.

According to eMarketer, Facebook will lose two million US users under the age 24 this year, offsetting those losses with gains among older users.

A report last year by investment firm Piper Jaffray showed Snapchat is the preferred social network for US teens, with 47 percent using the platform.

Atari Co-founder Ted Dabney Dead at 81: Reports

Atari co-founder Samuel “Ted” Dabney, who helped create hit video game “Pong,” has died at the age of 81 at his Northern California home, according to reports.

His death was announced Saturday in a Facebook post by a friend, Leonard Herman.

“RIP dear friend,” Herman wrote of San Francisco-born Dabney.

“Your legacy will live on a long time!”

The New York Times on Thursday cited confirmation from Dabney’s wife that her husband died on May 26 from cancer.

Electrical engineer Dabney and Nolan Bushnell founded Atari in June 1972 and began shipping “Pong” arcade machines later that year, according to the company’s website.

The game was a digital spin on table tennis, with players using joysticks to slide on-screen paddles to serve and return balls represented by squares of light.

“Pong” became a sensation and coin-operated machines could be found in pubs, bowling allies, and shopping malls, as well as arcades.

California-based Atari and Pong have been credited with helping lay the foundation for the multi-billion dollar video game industry existing today.

“Ted Dabney, who we lost on Saturday, designed the incredible, true genius circuit behind ‘Computer Space’ and ‘Pong,’ which truly and directly has its beautiful tendrils in every pixel you will ever see,” video game designer and industry icon Jonathan Seamus Blackley said in a tweet from his official account.

“Think of him today, and thank him.”

The new brand will allegedly offer shoppers 40 shades of foundation, in addition to a series of blushers, lipsticks, eyeshadows and highlighters designed for a wide variety of skin tones.

“It’s really focused on the idea of flesh being all flesh colors — we’re redefining the notion of what flesh color really is and having it be inclusive on every level,” Linda Wells, who developed the line, told WWD. She added: “Flesh was this idea of, ‘How do you create different shades of nudes for different skin colors?’ Because there’s that idea that there’s this one color that will work on every color of skin, but that seems like kind of a fantasy — a unicorn.”
