Respiratory Disease In Chickens Spreads Throughout Pakistan

The pandemic spread throughout the world in 2020. With vaccines rolling out, however, we assumed that things would go back to normal. The year 2021, it seems, would not allow that. First, there was a volcano eruption in Congo, then a rat plague in Australia. And now, Pakistan is witnessing a respiratory disease spreading through poultry.

This infectious disease is called Coryza and it is already spread all over Pakistan. In fact, some of the poultry farms in Karachi have already closed down, ARY reported. The disease looks like the chicken has a common cold and respiratory problems.

The disease has also been reported in the United States, although the spread is not that viral there. Pakistan, in this regard, is more extensively hit with Coryza. Because of this, the prices are affected as well.

Looking at history, we can see that Pakistan’s chicken gets hit with diseases every now and then. Some time ago, it was bird flu, at another time it was yet another disease. And every time, the prices go down. So the poultry prices that had reached PKR 520 to 600 in the last week, are expected to go down once again.

Coryza is an infe4ctious disease that gives chicken respiratory issues. The changes witnessed in the chicken are nasal discharge, decreased activity, facial swelling, and sneezing.

It was being said that a similar disease was seen in quails and pheasants as well. However, that originates due to a bacterium different from the one that leads to Coryza. Coryza is only affecting chickens,

How To Register For COVID-19 Vaccine

Asad Umar, on Wednesday, announced that the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had decided to start the registration of persons aged 19 and above for vaccination against the coronavirus.

Here’s how to register for the covid-19 vaccine:

The way to become eligible for the vaccine is to register for it. It’s quite simple!

  • SMS your 13-digit CNIC number to 1166 and you’ll receive a code
  • The government will share the vaccination centre and date for the vaccination on the registered phone number.
  • Check your registration status after 24 hours

[Update]: Initially the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine happened in phases. In the first phase, it was the healthcare workers and 65 years above citizens. After that, it was the 60 above that got the vaccine. Later, it was the 50 above but now, as the third wave continues to strengthen, it has been announced that everyone can get their dose of vaccine after eid. So after you are done celebrating eid while practicing social distancing, don’t wait up and register to get the vaccine for covid-19.

[March 26th, 2021]: Up until now, healthcare workers and senior citizens of above sixty age had been receiving the covid vaccine. But now, it will be available for 50-year-olds and above as well.

Who Will Get Vaccinated First In Pakistan?

A few weeks back, the government and policy-makers came up with a framework and procedures to get the work on getting people vaccinated for the coronavirus started. The vaccination drive, as per initial reports would be commenced soon and will consist of three phases.

The Ministry of National Health and Services of Pakistan revealed that the country would be vaccinating the people through the traditional injection. The initial two doses would be injected on the person’s arm and would be injected with a margin of three to four weeks between them.

The Ministry’s official Twitter account revealed the information.

As soon as details started to come out regarding the arrival of vaccines to Pakistan, many were eager to learn who will be the first amongst the people to get vaccinated. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Dr. Faisal Sultan, announced that the frontline health care workers would be the priority when the vaccine arrives. He also revealed that in the next phase, people above the ages of 65 and other healthcare workers would be prioritized, and after that, people above the age of 60 and 18 would be vaccinated.

The vaccine would be distributed through the EPI (Extended Programme On Immunization). As per the government officials’ claims, the process would be streamlined via software, and as many as 400,000 healthcare workers have been registered so far through the program.

Soon after the news regarding the vaccination arriving in Pakistan reached, people were eager to see how the prime minister would respond to it. The first batch of the Covid 19 vaccines arrived from China yesterday, and Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the program officially and inaugurated the commencement of the protocols.

Many people are still expressing concerns and have speculated about how the program will turn out in the future despite the claims. Pakistani politicians, unfortunately, do not have a good track record when it comes to making promises to the public, and only time will tell how things will unfold in the future.

She must have thought that Noor would find it sweet, her effort. But Noor got scared. She says that she doesn’t meet anyone and especially not at her house. So by that definition, the woman who met her was a stalker.

Analyzing it

Usually what happens is that women have suffered too much harassment at the hands of men that if it is someone from the same gender, they feel at ease. But stalking is irrespective of gender. Just because women feel more at ease around other women doesn’t mean they can stalk anyone as per their likes.

Two days ago, a man took to social media his encounter with PDA in flight when he was traveling in the early morning. He said that he was traveling with his family so seeing this PDA made him uncomfortable. Hoping to get out of discomfort, he asked the staff for help. The air hostess on duty got the Pakistani couple a blanket.

With increasing global warming, it is everyone’s responsibility to contribute to saving the world. It seems Unilever is taking that step. The company is introducing recyclable toothpaste tubes.

We were already able to refill our handwash plastic bottles. This reduced our carbon footprint. But when it comes to squeezing toothpaste onto the toothbrush, you are forced to replace it. And there was nothing you could do about it.

Samir Singh, Executive Vice President, Global Skin Cleansing and Oral Care said: “Plastic pollution is undoubtedly one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time. We can see its impact on our planet every day, including the billions of toothpaste tubes dumped into landfills every year.”

Recyclable toothpaste tube: going into the details

Currently, aluminum and plastic compose toothpaste tubes. These ingredients allow the tube to be flexible. But the ingredient does not allow for recycling. The new tubes will replace aluminum with High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). HDPE is considered the most widely recyclable plastic globally. Being the thinnest plastic material at 220 microns, the need for plastic in each tube will also decrease.

What’s incredible is that Unilever will not keep this innovation with itself but also encourage other parties to adapt.

Ibrahim Hasan Murad, President Ilm/Umt, Announces $100,000 For Palestinian Youth

Lahore – Tuesday, May 25, 2021: In a special meeting with His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Rabaie, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Ibrahim Hasan Murad, President of ILM Trust and UMT, has offered to donate a sum of US$100,000 for the Education and welfare of the Palestinian youth.

Mr. Ibrahim praised the incredible resilience and sacrifices of the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli state terrorism against unarmed civilians, women, and children. He condemned the indiscriminate bombing of hospitals, educational institutions, and infrastructural facilities by the Israeli invading forces. He demanded a cessation of war crimes by Israel and expressed the hope that the Palestinians’ relentless struggle will win them the ultimate victory with Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine.

In addition to the US$100,000 donation for capacity building for the people of Palestine, and particularly the youth. He assured the Ambassador of Palestine that UMT welcomes students and faculty from Palestine for higher education, research, and employment.

Mr. Ibrahim drew parallels between the Kashmiri struggle for freedom and the Palestinian cause. Both have been suffering from state terrorism with untold atrocities committed against them. He hoped the world opinion would force both India and Israel to end their occupation of Muslim lands.

TikTok Runs Safety Awareness Campaign On Digital & Conventional Platforms

Amidst amazing content, you must have come across news that talked about incidents, fatal or otherwise, involving TikTokers. Some people died or some were killed. The events that lead to these incidents were because of the rash actions of a few individuals. Rash because in no reality is one firing a gun at himself or running beside a racing train is safe.

Let’s start with an example. If you are a TikTok content creator, and your content is dangerous, don’t do it. But past events have indicated that people go through with it. Through a campaign that ran across TV, Print, and Digital mediums, the application reminds its basic purpose. It is there to empower the young generation. With this campaign, they also remind the content creators that they should be more vigilant about their content.

The exponential success of TikTok is evidence of the digital penetration in the country. Moreover, a number of content creators and advocates of online safety took the discussion on Twitter today urging the masses to be safe and emphasizing adherence to TikTok’s elaborate community guidelines. I get that it is not the season itself but just a piece of news about it. But if you are someone who was majorly disappointed at not seeing Money Heist in April, then this news would be enough to bring you out of that sadness. The released trailer seems a bit gloomy with each and every character in a life and death situation with gunfire all around them. This one is not a robbery anymore. It is more like a War movie. Álex Pina, the creator, issued a statement. In that, he said, that because they had started writing the season during the pandemic, they felt that the story needed change.

“We used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself. We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes.”

The lost traveler
