Muhammad Ali Asghar, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar has given an order that motorcyclists without a helmet would not be able to get petrol within the city.

As per reports, action will be taken against owners of petrol stations if they violate the rule.

Similarly, a rule along this line was taken out in Rawalpindi a few weeks ago following the orders of the Lahore High Court.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Dr. Umar Jahangir had directed all petrol stations not to give petrol to bikers without a helmet.

This action will help promote road safety amongst Pakistanis and will curb fatal accidents.

We have yet to see when this becomes applicable in Karachi and other cities.
