It has been reported by Karachi Alerts that a ban has been imposed on mobile signals and Internet services on the occasion of Chehlum for Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) that falls on Friday, 10th November 2017.
Due to security issues prevailing in the city, strict measures are taken every year during Moharram and Chehlum to keep the peace in the metropolis as various activities are held during this time. These include Majalis, Waaz, and Processions.
The notice has been issued through the Sindh Police Department. The Inspector General of Police has sent out the notice to all Police zones in Karachi.
As per the notice, mobile signals will be jammed on the 10th of November and it has been advised by the IG that internet services be shut down as well from 10 am to 10 pm.
There may be a likely ban on pillion riding on Friday, 10th Nov but this has not yet been confirmed by the authorities.
