Google has launched Cloud Vision API (Application Programming Interface) today, a game-changing tool for developers that can be used for building up applications for better image recognition.

Cloud Vision API available via Google Cloud in limited preview, is advance technology that has the ability to even understand the content of the images and it can be applied to many different areas of image recognition like optical character recognition (OCR), face detection, and object recognition including (Logo and Label Detection) .

This technology enables fast-paced classification of images into many categories, can detect faces with associated emotions and recognize the printed content of the images written in many different languages used in the world. The Cloud Vision API can build metadata on your image catalog, moderate offensive content, or enable new marketing scenarios through image sentiment analysis.

Cloud Vision API is definitely a big thing to be added in the Cloud Service portfolio of Google as the company facing huge challenge in the market by the leading Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft in this image recognition field.
