Preparations are in full swing for the 70th Pakistan Day on 23rd March 2017 which is being celebrated 0n Thursday. It will be observed as a public holiday throughout the country.

For strict security control, the Metro Bus service will be discontinued for the day and mobile services will be suspended in the twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi from 6am to 1 pm as part of the Pakistan Day Parade security measures.

Mobile phone services will be suspended for at least 5 hours tomorrow.

All roads leading to the Pakistan Day Parade in Islamabad will also be blocked from today, 10 pm onwards in order to maintain tight security for the event.

Various military and government officials will be attending the national day parade. Chief of South African National Defence Force and  General Solly Zacharia Shoke will be present to watch the parade.
