Zootopia is an adequately funny movie with animals, predators and preys, are living together in harmony. Disney’s latest animated installment has been deemed a movie fit for the kids.

Directed by Byron Howard of Tangled fame along with Rich Moore who directed Wreck-It Ralph. The movie appears to have elements of a crime story at the center where a newly appointed bunny cop forms a unique bond with a cunning fox to unearth a deep and dark conspiracy.

However, there are many a cackle worthy moments in the movie with the central theme being you can do anything or be anyone.

Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), a rabbit living in Bunnyburrow aspires to be more than a carrot farming bunny, so to everyone’s obvious disapproval she goes to a wonderfully designed metropolis, Zootopia.

When suddenly the harmonious Zootopia’s peaceful society starts experiencing fallout on the predator and prey understanding, the meter maid Judy takes it upon herself to investigate this happening.

She teams up with an unlikely ally Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a cunning fox and in a wavering manner finally comes face to face with a tiny source of dis-balance. The little animals such as hamsters are depicted as badass bosses and polar bears as the tough security guards in Zootopia.

Judy Hopps represents a strong, female in a lead character.

The best bit being where she calls out another character for calling her ‘cute’ and tells him that it’s not okay since only bunnies can call other bunnies cute.

Funnily enough, the movie is not only meant for the kids but given it’s different story-line adults can give it a go as well. There are references hinted at popular movies such as The Godfather  and Chinatown.

A fun, animated movie spanning over two hours with animals imagined as mobsters, cops and residents of a lively metropolis is surely a must watch or the animated movie fans.
