Having been launched in Pakistan only nine months ago, LINE already has over 5 million registered users. Not only that, but the messenger has already got local celebrities on board as ambassadors.

Pakistani stars including the resident Billi from Na Maloom Afraad, Mehwish Hayat and heartthrob, Hamza Ali Abbasi have joined LINE and the app’s ability to connect their huge fan base with them has given the user count a major bump recently. Previously, singers Ali Azmat and Shiraz Uppal were seen endorsing the app during the World Cup season.

As more celebrities join the social messaging app, chances are that LINE will soon become the most popular app locally.

Available on Android, Blackberry, Nokia, iOS and Windows Phone, LINE has over 560 million subscribers worldwide and has recently taken over Facebook Messenger’s status of fastest growing social media app. According to Street Insider, LINE witnessed a 57% increase in the number of active users over last year globally.
