“No, Pakistan does not rank on top for adult keyword”

Google recently ranked Pakistan as the leading country in most adult searches.

The searches lead within the adult content areas related to animals like pigs, donkeys, dogs, cats and snakes. According to Google the six of the top 8 countries ranked in most adult related content searches are all Middle Eastern ones.

Egypt took the second place in the list followed by Iran, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Turkey in fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth places respectively.

The ranking were first reported by Salon, a news website and were later published on various other websites.

This is not the first time Pakistani nation has been regarded as one of the top most nations in adult content searches; by foreign websites which have published such statistics regarding the country.

This kind of statistical reporting tactic should be termed as falsification and misrepresentation of news in desperate attempts to reach higher audiences. The sad part is that the news piece has been insensitively replicated by the local news reporting websites, without consideration to how valid this statistic is.

The approach regarding reporting of this news which is actually commendable is one taken by ProPakistani.

Any logical person, who is presented with this news, would firstly question the authenticity of this statistic based on the fact that Internet users within the entire country amount only to 30 million, which makes up of about 10% of the population.

The second insight which Google has failed to report is that the keywords for adult content in which Pakistan is topping are not the common keywords such as “sex”, “sex videos”, “free sex”, etc. But in actuality, animal-related keywords, which can be an error based on the simple fact that a lot of internet users in our country are not literate.

The figures from 2004 to present depict Pakistan ranking as 7th top searcher for adult content, and the countries which are topping the charts are obviously not Middle Eastern countries.
