Pakistan’s religious body, the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), has recently given its approval for women to perform Hajj without a mehram under certain conditions. This significant decision aims to provide more opportunities for women to fulfill their religious obligations and participate in the sacred pilgrimage to Mecca.

According to the CII’s response to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Jafri, Maliki, and Shafii schools of thought within Sharia law permit women to undertake Hajj without a mehram. This means that women can now embark on this spiritual journey if their parents or husband grant them permission and they do not anticipate any danger or wrongdoing during their travel.

However, it is worth noting that according to the Hanafi and Hanbali fiqh, a woman traditionally requires a mehram to perform Hajj. Nevertheless, this recent ruling by the CII provides an alternative perspective that widens the opportunities for women who may not have access to a mehram.

Why was this proposal drafted?

In order to ensure the safety and well-being of women traveling without a mehram, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has proposed a careful evaluation of the group they plan to travel with. The Objectives of the Customized AI Service

Samsung Electronics’ DS division aims to roll out basic AI services in December, followed by professional search services incorporating company knowledge in February of the following year. These services will support various aspects of employees’ work, including:

Is There A Worst Day Of The Week For Heart Attacks?

Doctors have analyzed Data from 10,528 patients—7,112 in the Republic of Ireland and 3,416 in Northern Ireland at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland to study the chances of heart attacks.

According to a study, serious heart attacks are more likely to occur on Mondays than any other day with 13% higher than anticipated risk of heart attacks.

The data was collected from the patients with the most severe heart attack, an ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), which occurs when a major coronary artery is completely blocked. The patients required hospitalization between 2013 and 2018.

The researchers discovered a rise in STEMI heart attacks at the beginning of the workweek, with rates on Monday being the greatest.

“We’ve found a strong statistical correlation between the start of the working week and the incidence of STEMI,” says cardiologist Jack Laffan from the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.

“This has been described before but remains a curiosity.”

Important risk factors for heart attacks, such as blood pressure, exhibit diurnal rhythms. It has also been demonstrated that disruptions to this sleep-wake cycle can also affect cardiovascular health.

“This study adds to evidence around the timing of particularly serious heart attacks, but we now need to unpick what it is about certain days of the week that makes them more likely,” says Nilesh Samani, medical director at the British Heart Foundation.

“Doing so could help doctors better understand this deadly condition so we can save more lives in the future.”

It’s not necessary to take extra precautions for your heart health on a Monday and then disregard it for the next six days, but it is important to keep in mind any additional stresses your body may be experiencing at the beginning of the week.

As a point of reference, the current iPhone 14 series starts at $799 for the base model of the iPhone 14, $899 for the iPhone 14 Plus, $999 for the iPhone 14 Pro, and $1,099 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. If the expected price hike comes to fruition, the iPhone 15 Pro may have a starting price of around $1,199, while the Pro Max model could be priced at approximately $1,299.

  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 8-10 fresh cherries (pitted)
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Club soda

Instructions

  1. Muddle the cherries and mint leaves in the bottom of a glass.
  2. Add lime juice and simple syrup.
  3. Fill the glass with crushed ice and top it off with club soda.
  4. Stir gently and garnish with cherry and mint syrup

2. Cherry Mocktail

  • 5 Cherries roughly chopped
  • 1 Lime quartered
  • 6-8 Mint leaves
  • 1 cup Sparkling water
  • Sweetener to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chopped cherries and lime in a glass. Add a little sweetener if you are a sweet tooth.
  2. Using a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon, muddle together. The idea is to get it small enough to fit through a straw.
  3. Clap the mint leaves together in your hands to release the scent. Add to the glass and press gently a couple of times.
  4. Add ice and stop with your choice of sparkling drink.

  • 1 cup cherry juice
  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Soda water
  • Cherries for garnish

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the cherry juice, cranberry juice, and, orange juice.
  2. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the juice mixture over the ice.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of Fresh cherries Pitted
  • 250 ml Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Black salt / Kala namak / Sanchal powder
  • 1 cup Sugar (According to the tartness of cherries)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Water or plain soda or sparkling water

Instructions

  1. Take fresh cherries in a pressure cooker. Add 250ml water. Close the lid and cook it for two whistles. If you don’t have a pressure cooker or don’t want to use a pressure cooker, you may cook cherries in a pan with water for about 10 to 15 minutes or until cherries turn very soft and mushy.
  2. Let the pressure cooker cools down completely. Open the lid.
  3. Mesh the cherry and syrup through a sieve over a large bowl.
  4. Now add sugar, black salt, roasted cumin powder, salt, black pepper powder, and lemon juice. Mix it well.
  5. Take a glass, add ice cubes, and 3 to 4 tablespoons of prepared cherry syrup. Add water or soda or sparkling water. Mix well and enjoy the drink.

Pak Suzuki Implements Further Shutdown Measures

In the midst of a year-long series of production shutdown announcements by car manufacturers in the country, the Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company is also facing severe challenges due to the prevailing economic meltdown and import restrictions, resulting in sales and profits going into deficit.

As of late, Pak Suzuki has also declared that their motorcycle assembly plant will remain closed from June 12 to June 16 due to a complete lack of inventory. Previously, the company had suspended motorcycle production from May 23 to June 10.

Reason For Shutdown

The primary reason behind these measures is the difficulty in importing necessary parts and raw materials for vehicle manufacturing. The major problem lies in the mandatory approval process imposed by the State Bank of Pakistan for imports, causing delays and disrupting the automobile companies’ supply chains. While obtaining prior approval may not seem like a major hurdle in theory, delays in approval have led to shortages of parts and raw materials which is now a common occurrence in various government departments. These delays have prevented companies from maintaining adequate inventory levels for production.

Furthermore, Pak Suzuki has also witnessed a significant decline in car sales compared to the same period last year which could be because of the recent ongoing inflation. The people do not have money to spend and that is disturbing the supply and demand chain. According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturer Association (PAMA), the company experienced a staggering 76% drop, selling only 2,958 units last month compared to 12,212 units in the corresponding period last year.

In terms of specific models, the sales figures for Pak Suzuki include 1,902 units of Alto, 282 units of Suzuki Cultus, 148 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 332 units of Suzuki Swift, 157 units of Suzuki Bolan, and 137 units of Suzuki Ravi.

In the most recent McDonald’s advertisement, a man is seen visiting the restaurant and buying a meal. He was served by a female employee of McDonald’s, and the two of them exchanged looks. The advertisement depicts the two of them developing a romance. The young lad returns to the queue after finishing his order a little while later so that he can approach the girl once more.

Alarming Surge In Malnutrition Cases Sweeps Pakistan

Malnutrition is still a major problem in Pakistan, having disastrous effects on the health and development of the country. Malnutrition needs to be addressed in order for the nation to advance and develop overall as well as for the personal health of its individuals. According to Aga Khan University’s health economics research, the annual financial loss resulting from micronutrient deficiencies is almost $3 billion, or 1.33% of GDP. Micronutrient deficiencies (in children aged 6 to 23 months) are predicted to have a direct medical cost of US$19 million.

While these numbers highlight the financial toll that hunger takes on in Pakistan, the World Bank estimates that more than 40% of children under the age of five there are stunted, a condition that impairs growth and development. In addition, micronutrient deficiencies, such as those in iron, iodine, and vitamin A, are common.

Iron deficiency can result in anemia, problems with growth and development, cognitive and behavioral challenges, a weakened immune system, lethargy, and other side effects that make it difficult for kids to live healthy, productive lives.

The current malnutrition epidemic in Pakistan is caused by a number of factors, some of which can be linked to poverty, a lack of access to nutritious food, and a weak healthcare system. Malnutrition is a problem in Pakistan due to a lack of knowledge about good nutrition as well as sociocultural practices such as early marriage, gender inequity, and insufficient breastfeeding.

This problem demands a multifaceted strategy to be solved. Malnutrition can be decreased in a nation by strengthening healthcare systems, encouraging exclusive breastfeeding, boosting the use of fortified products, ensuring the safety of agriculture and food, increasing nutrition education, encouraging behavior change, lowering poverty, and enabling public-private partnerships that actively work on all of these fronts. The remedy also needs to be geared towards various age groups, particularly among children, and it might come in the form of nutrition products that have been fortified.

A challenge as colossal as this requires multiple stakeholders that work on health, food, agriculture, education, and social welfare to join hands, come together, and redirect their energies toward reducing malnutrition together.
