There is no flavor more misunderstood than cherry. It’s understandable why people avoid cherry, given the way cherry is treated in cough syrup and the fake cherry flavors in candies. Thankfully, none of those syrupy, medicinal qualities can be found in these cherry drinks.

So let these juicily delectable cocktails take you by surprise.

1. Cherry Mojito

Ingredients

  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 8-10 fresh cherries (pitted)
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Club soda

Instructions

  1. Muddle the cherries and mint leaves in the bottom of a glass.
  2. Add lime juice and simple syrup.
  3. Fill the glass with crushed ice and top it off with club soda.
  4. Stir gently and garnish with cherry and mint syrup

2. Cherry Mocktail

Ingredients

  • 5 Cherries roughly chopped
  • 1 Lime quartered
  • 6-8 Mint leaves
  • 1 cup Sparkling water
  • Sweetener to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chopped cherries and lime in a glass. Add a little sweetener if you are a sweet tooth.
  2. Using a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon, muddle together. The idea is to get it small enough to fit through a straw.
  3. Clap the mint leaves together in your hands to release the scent. Add to the glass and press gently a couple of times.
  4. Add ice and stop with your choice of sparkling drink.
  5. Garnish with lime wheels and extra cherries

3. Cherry & Cranberry Mocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cherry juice
  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Soda water
  • Cherries for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the cherry juice, cranberry juice, and, orange juice.
  2. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the juice mixture over the ice.
  3. Top with soda water and stir gently. Garnish with cherries and serve.

4. Cherry Lemonade

  • 1 cup cherry juice
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 cups sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a pitcher, combine the cherry juice and lemon juice.
  2. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the juice mixture over the ice.
  3. Top with sparkling water and stir gently.
  4. Garnish each glass with fresh cherries and serve.

5. Cherry Cooler

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of Fresh cherries Pitted
  • 250 ml Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Black salt / Kala namak / Sanchal powder
  • 1 cup Sugar (According to the tartness of cherries)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Water or plain soda or sparkling water

Instructions

  1. Take fresh cherries in a pressure cooker. Add 250ml water. Close the lid and cook it for two whistles. If you don’t have a pressure cooker or don’t want to use a pressure cooker, you may cook cherries in a pan with water for about 10 to 15 minutes or until cherries turn very soft and mushy.
  2. Let the pressure cooker cools down completely. Open the lid.
  3. Mesh the cherry and syrup through a sieve over a large bowl.
  4. Now add sugar, black salt, roasted cumin powder, salt, black pepper powder, and lemon juice. Mix it well.
  5. Take a glass, add ice cubes, and 3 to 4 tablespoons of prepared cherry syrup. Add water or soda or sparkling water. Mix well and enjoy the drink.
