In Islamabad on May 15, 2023, Zong 4G celebrated the accomplishments of the first graduates of the center’s Digital Programme with a historic graduation ceremony at Zong headquarters, in partnership with Pakistan Bait ul Mal (PBM) and with the assistance of the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety (MOPASS). These gifted people completed the extensive training course successfully and gained useful skills across several digital industries.

In December 2022, Zong 4G triumphantly opened the cutting-edge digital lab at PBM’s Center for Women’s Empowerment in Islamabad. With the help of this project, women will be given the necessary digital skills they need to succeed in the modern world.

The Zong 4G Sustainability Report for the year 2022 featured handcrafted sleeves that 35 women from PBM’s vocational centers had expertly manufactured, displaying their creativity, skill, and workmanship. This achievement was also recognized during the graduation ceremony.

All meritorious guests received certificates of excellence in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments and commitment to personal development. In addition, Zong 4G gave gifts as a way of saying thanks for their unshakable dedication to the cause of women’s emancipation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Zong 4G’s official spokesperson expressed the company’s commitment to women’s empowerment and emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities for all. “We firmly believe that empowering women is crucial for a progressive and inclusive society. Through the digital lab and vocational initiatives, we aim to equip women with the necessary skills to excel in the digital era, opening doors to better opportunities and a brighter future.”

The digital lab, created as a result of the partnership between Zong 4G and PBM, will keep giving women access to fundamental digital skills, enabling them to actively participate in Pakistan’s digital economy. This project seeks to close the gender gap in the digital industry by giving women the technical skills they need to pursue fulfilling jobs.

Mr. Amir Fida Paracha, Managing Director of PBM, while addressing the ceremony said, “This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to empower women and provide them with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital era. The Graduation Ceremony and Zong 4G’s recognition of women from our vocational centers further highlights and appreciates the tremendous potential and talent that exists within our communities. We are committed to continuing our efforts in creating equal opportunities and fostering sustainable development in Pakistan in collaboration with Zong 4G.”

The partnership between Zong 4G, PBM, and MOPASS demonstrates a steadfast dedication to advancing women’s empowerment and reducing poverty in Pakistan. This initiative is improving the lives of individuals, families, and communities by giving women access to digital training and career opportunities.
