Javed Akhtar Says India Owns Urdu, Not Pakistan

The Indian poet and author Javed Akhtar, who has recently been making contentious claims regarding Pakistan, asserted that Urdu is not a language of Pakistan but rather of India or Hindustan. He made these remarks when discussing the value of the language during a launch party for the Urdu poetry collection “Shayarana – Sartaj,” which he and his wife Shabana Azmi attended, according to the Hindustan Times.

Akhtar remarked during the ceremony that Urdu is an Indian language and does not belong to Pakistan or Egypt. He stated, “This language did not come from outside, it is our own language, it is not spoken outside Hindustan.”Because Pakistan itself was only a part of India before it was divided from that country. Akhtar continued.

Although Urdu is the native tongue of all of India, the Indian poet claimed that Punjab was crucial in its promotion and popularisation. He emphasized, “It is not correct to consider Urdu to be a Pakistani language”. “Punjab has a big contribution towards Urdu and it is the language of India! But why did you leave this language? Because of Partition? Because of Pakistan? Urdu should be given attention,” he said.

He commented on Indians who think Urdu is a language of Pakistan and questioned whether they would accept it if Pakistan annexed all of Kashmir. He also stated that the value of the Urdu language should be emphasized because the younger generation in India has lost track of it. He complained that English is given more attention now. He later added that given that Hindi is their national language, they must communicate in it.

Javed Akhtar further spoke about how language is not related to religion and that it is wrong to link languages with religion as language is not related to religion but to regions. “Therefore, Urdu is not the language of any religion but of India,” he clarified.

Surgeons To Use 3D Printers to Create Replacement Ribs

Surgeons To Use 3D Printers to Create Replacement Ribs

Breathing will be made much easier for patients recovering from surgery to remove lung and chest malignancies thanks to 3D-printed replacement ribs. The implants are given to patients whose chest wall has been partially removed during therapy, and they are made using rib scans that precisely match the missing bones to produce a mold on a printer. The conventional method of closing rib holes created by the surgeon to reach the malignant area may not always suit the anatomy well and can make breathing more difficult.

Those who underwent the new technique did not have the same issues, according to the trial. With cutting-edge 3D-printed rib replacements, patients recovering from surgery to remove chest and lung tumors can expect to breathe more easily.

“If the gap is small, we sometimes plug it with surgical mesh,’ explains Andrea Beale, consultant thoracic surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. “But for larger spaces, surgeons usually create a concrete implant that fills the entire void, leaving no space between the ribs.” she continued.

The experimental work is being carried out by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, pictured “Often the way cement sets can leave very little room for the chest to expand when breathing.” This meant that patients suffered from tight chests, labored breathing, and pain and was unable to exercise. “The new technique means the implant is completely tailored to the individual.”

In 2022, roughly 1.9 million people got diagnosed with cancer in the world. Each year, 48,000 British people receive a lung cancer diagnosis. In almost half of the instances of lung cancer, the illness is discovered after it has already spread, frequently to neighboring chest tissue. Although some of these tumors can be eliminated by radiotherapy alone, many of them must be surgically removed. Up to one in ten times, accessing the malignant tissue requires the surgeon to remove at least a portion of the rib. So, this makes cancer patients’ lives a tad bit better.

Samsung Exposed For Faking ‘Moon’ Shots

Samsung Exposed For Faking 'Moon' Shots

Recently, Samsung has been caught faking ‘moon’ shots on their Galaxy S21 and S23 Ultra phones. The company had been using artificial intelligence (AI) to produce images of the moon that appeared to be taken with a professional camera. The news has led to outrage and questions about the use of AI in photography.

The use of AI in photography is not new. Many smartphone companies use AI to enhance images, adjust colors and improve sharpness. However, Samsung’s use of AI to create a false image of the moon has raised concerns about the authenticity of images produced by smartphones.

How it all started?

The controversy began when a user on Reddit discovered that Samsung’s ‘moon’ shots were identical to images available on the internet. The user found that the images had been taken by a professional photographer and were available on various stock photography websites. Samsung’s AI had simply added the moon to images taken by the phone’s camera, making it appear as if the user had taken the photo themselves.

Samsung’s response to the discovery has been disappointing. The company has stated that their AI technology was used to enhance the images, not to deceive customers. However, this response has not been accepted by many users who feel that Samsung has misled them.

The use of AI in photography raises many questions about the authenticity of images. Many users assume that the images produced by their smartphones are real, and Samsung’s ‘moon’ shots have shattered that trust. It is important for smartphone companies to be transparent about their use of AI in photography and to ensure that images are not misleading.

The increasing use of AI is leading to mistrust among the users

The controversy also highlights the impact of AI on photography. While AI can enhance images and make photography more accessible, it can also be used to create false images. It is important for users to be aware of the potential for deception when using AI-powered photography features.

Samsung’s ‘moon’ shots have also raised questions about the use of stock images. While it is common for photographers to use stock images, the use of these images by smartphone companies raises concerns about the originality of the images produced. Smartphone companies must ensure that they have the proper licenses to use stock images and that they are not misleading customers.

Red Bull Giving Wings To Pakistani Talent At International Competitions

Did you all hear the news? Red Bull just announced the winner of their Doodle Art Competition in Pakistan. The national winner, Umer Nadeem absolutely nailed it with his crazy doodle art skills. Iqra Qureshi and Mominah Arif, who gave tough competition to Umer for the top position, were the first and second runners-up. “My design was inspired by my home country, Pakistan. I wanted to represent my own country and so I made it the focal point of my doodle,” said Umer.

Now, the Pakistani art scene may not be big on all that digital art and NFT hype yet and it’s crucial for Pakistani artists to stay on top of new trends and developments, especially with everything going digital these days. Red Bull wanted to do something about it and like always, encourage young artists in Pakistan to get experimental with their techniques and tools, and help them discover the full potential of their art and so Redbull conceived this competition.

The Red Bull Doodle Art Competition was the perfect opportunity for young artists to make their mark on the global art scene and show off their skills. And boy, the young guns in Pakistan did not disappoint & brought their A-game to the national finale in Islamabad on March 12th which took place at the Islamabad Arts Gallery in F-9 park. Out of 3000 entries from across Pakistan only 20 entries, and 19 artists made it to the final. The finalists: Aliyan Salam, Ameer Hamza, Hayyan Harmann, Iqra Qureshi, Maria Khalid, Maria Khan, Minahil Noor (the only participant with two entries in the finals), Mominah Arif, Noor ul Ain, Rabia Zafar, Rafia Abid, Rafia Ashraf, Rahat Shakeel, Rumaisa Jabeen, Sami Ullah, Shahnoor Ejaz, Taqdees Sher, Umer Nadeem, and Unzila Idrees, all were some seriously talented artists battling it out for the top spot. But Umer came out on top with his out-of-this-world doodle art skills, earning him the well-deserved victory and the opportunity to represent Pakistan in the international final in Amsterdam in May.

The jury panel of this amazing competition included Mr. Imran Ali Dina, graphics designer, founder of GFX Mentor, Media Science teacher, and YouTuber with over 22 years of experience; and Ms. Amna Shah, Director at Hunerkada, an institute where she also studied sculpture.

The venue partners were Hunerkada, College of Visual & Performing Arts Islamabad campus. Best Western Premier Hotel was the exclusive hospitality partner, providing transportation, accommodation, and food stall services to all the finalists from across Pakistan. The Zalmi Store, the apparel brand for Peshawar Zalmi, acted as the apparel partner for the national finals, providing all the finalists with apparel that made them look like models ready for a photoshoot.

Red Bull’s always been a big supporter of Pakistani talent, and they did it again with this competition by providing a platform for young artists to showcase their skills, for an art form that is not taken seriously in Pakistan, on the global stage and shine like the stars they are.

Umer will now gear up to collaborate with an industry-leading professional artist for four weeks! Together, they’ll be creating a mind-blowing new doodle NFT to showcase at the World Final in Amsterdam this May, where over 60 national champions will gather to compete. And that’s not all – the winner will also be taking part in a series of electrifying workshops and creative sessions over a three-day “phy-gital” extravaganza, set to ignite the artistic hub of the Netherlands.

We can’t wait to see Umer crush it in Amsterdam and bring home the trophy for Pakistan! Good luck to all the young artists out there. Let’s keep making our mark on the world, one doodle at a time!

Beware Of This Malicious Ad Going Around On Facebook

As you may know, Facebook generates majority of its income from advertisements and that they’re everywhere. By placing false ads that are intended to steal your money, your personal information, some con artists are now making misusing Faccebook’s advertising.

The majority of false advertisements will appear in your newsfeed similarly to the real “Sponsored” items that we are all accustomed to seeing. Just the word “Sponsored” won’t be present above them. You can be assured that anything is a scam if it seems like an advertisement but doesn’t include the word “Sponsored” above it.

Recently, Facebook is showing an advertisement on everyone’s newsfeed where clicking on it will get your computer hacked and you risk losing access to your accounts. Several people have experienced this, and as a result, their Facebook business manager accounts were compromised. This harmful advertisement is still appearing on Facebook despite several complaints being made to Facebook.

If the advertisement is still running, it could get a lot of people into serious problems, so please be informed and share the word. Once your business manager account has been compromised, the hacker uses your ad accounts to execute ad campaigns with extraordinarily high budgets, such as $1,000 per day. They might look a little something like this.

Indeed, Facebook does a bad job of identifying phony ads and removing them before they are published. Always assume the worst when an offer seems too good to be true and you can put those probabilities quite close to 100% if it’s on Facebook. You’ll probably be directed to a malicious website intended to steal your personal information and credit/debit card information if you click or tap on a “bad” advertisement. Also, it’ll probably download spyware into your computer.

The bottom line is that you should always approach every Facebook advertisement with a fair dosage of suspicion, especially those that are featured in your Newsfeed.

Stay safe!

If InDrive has been your go-to car-hailing service then re-evaluating your choice might be the best bet right now. People have shared their experiences on social media. From those who have booked the rides to make deliveries to those who booked the rides to commute for personal and professional reasons, the majority of their customers have one or the other thing to say about them.

InDrive Complaints Are A Serious Concern

Despite being one of the top car-hailing services in Karachi, the very core element missing in the model is its lack of customer support. Meanwhile, many users have shared their experiences which are horrendous, to begin with.

From asking their passengers to cancel the ride only to charge them twice the money to harassing female customers on their contacts after the rides are some of the most common ways InDrive has raised major concerns. This only shows that the lack of safety – a matter which has been of grave concern for females traveling solo in Pakistan is only getting bigger. No matter even if it’s a small commute from work to home.

Khalil ur Rehman’s Comments On Men Having Extramarital Affairs Resurface

Our Pakistani dramas frequently retell the same stories with various actors playing key roles for a variety of reasons. Sisters who marry the same man, cruel in-law mothers, and conventional Cinderella love stories are all rather prevalent. Extramarital affairs was another genre that entered television with a vengeance following Mere Paas Tum Ho’s huge success. Writer, director, and producer Khalil Ur Rehman has been in the news because of his controversial statements which are more towards the misogynistic and narcissistic side.

Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has frequently spoken about women’s issues and gender inequality. He has fought and made appearances on numerous shows. He recently stated that extramarital affairs have significantly increased in society while speaking on a Neo News program.

Here have a look at the interview

He explained why it is women who have the power to prevent their partners from engaging in extramarital affairs. No man will engage in financial corruption, according to him, if women begin to live off the halal income that their husbands bring home. Financial corruption is what puts so much money in a guy’s hands, which is then used to exploit other women. Here’s how people reacted to this statement of his.

Hania Aamir recently made an appearance on The Fourth Umpire Show hosted by Fahad Mustafa. She discussed the tragic cause for discontuining her studies on the show. Hania Aamir said, “Maybe I haven’t talked about my studies for a reason, I am a college dropout, I was a good student but I started acting, I started getting money but also I needed money at that time, I had to run my house, I was the bread earner of my family, I came into acting and luckily I knew acting and that’s how it all happened”. Check out the following video link:

This is not the first time that Hania has shared her inspirational story in an interview. She has previously talked about her personal struggles when entering the media industry. Hania Aamir revealed that she belonged to a conservative family and her parents split up when she was quite young so she had a troublesome childhood. Hania first received support from her extended family while residing with her mother and younger sister. She began working in Janaan at a very young age.

But most people are unaware of the fact that Hania had to fight hard to achieve what she has. Hania’s extended family was quite furious with her and urged her not to sign Janaan. Even her mother first believed that it would merely lead to more arguments. Hania, however, was adamant and made a promise to everyone that she would start taking care of her mother and sister on her own, and she worked incredibly hard to keep that promise.

Hania claimed that the dispute was ultimately resolved, but she did eventually separate her own sister and mother and is now supporting them successfully and does not regret her decision one bit.
