You are almost twice as likely to get injured while coming down the stairs compared to guys of the same age. Can you believe it? I mean is this a classic “women” moment? Coming down the stairs is definitely not that difficult so why are women more likely to fall down them? But don’t worry, let’s get this tag off our backs! The Study

The study looked at college students in the U.S. and found that young women in their 20s tend to engage in riskier activities while walking downstairs. So what are these daring moves that make them more injury-prone? Well, it turns out, things like wearing high heels and texting away mindlessly on their phones!

Researchers from Purdue University observed over 2,400 young adults going down two different staircases – one with just two steps and the other with 17 steps. They spotted some very stupid yet common habits that might lead to us falling:

Not holding the handrail
Not paying attention to the stairs
Wearing inappropriate footwear like high heels or flip-flops
Talking to someone in person or on the phone
Using electronic gadgets
Keeping hands in pockets
Carrying stuff while going down
Skipping steps for some adventurous moments

Among all the age groups, young women in their 20s had the highest risk of getting hurt on the stairs, beating even the guys of the same age (except for women over 80 – they’re quite the tough cookies too!). But don’t worry, there’s hope! While five participants stumbled a bit, they all managed to regain their balance. So it’s okay to have a little wobble but the main aim is to just stay safe and eventually not fall.

Other Findings

Now, let’s talk about the fun stuff. Researchers noticed that young women tend to have more chitchats and gossip on the stairs. Maybe they enjoy catching up with friends or colleagues while climbing down. And guess what? They were better at paying attention to the steps during the transition than men. So kudos, ladies!

Similarly, withdrawals of Rs55,000 will incur a tax of Rs330, while non-filers withdrawing Rs75,000 will face a tax of Rs450. It is important to note that these new tax rates only apply to the portion of the withdrawal that exceeds the Rs50,000 threshold.

Extending Tax Exemption to Governments and Diplomatic Missions

The FBR circular also extends the tax exemption to federal and provincial governments, as well as foreign embassies and diplomatic missions operating in Pakistan. This move fosters a more cooperative financial landscape and strengthens diplomatic relations.

Recently, a 35-year-old woman from India journeyed to Pakistan to find her soulmate, while another couple found love in the picturesque region of Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Now in a heartwarming tale, a Chinese woman, Gao Fang, from the northern region of China, decided to find her life partner in the neighboring country of Pakistan. She moved to the serene Upper Dir valley in KPK to marry her beloved, Javed, who currently resides in the Samar Bagh area.

Javed, originally from the Bajaur district, now lives with his uncle in the mountainous region of Lower Dir. Upon learning about their love story, the police ensured the safety of Gao Fang and restricted her movements due to security concerns. The couple first connected on the social media app Snapchat and maintained a committed relationship for three years. Gao Fang entered Pakistan through the Sost border, near the Khunjerab Pass, before traveling to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa via Gilgit-Baltistan.

In a beautiful testament to love crossing borders, Gao Fang, now known as Kiswa, converted to Islam and is eager to marry her Pakistani love. Looks like Pakistan and China don’t just have economic, social, and political relations anymore.

Nestlé Pakistan, Punjab Workers Welfare Fund Inaugurate Nestlé For Healthier Kids Room For Nutrition Awareness

Nestlé Pakistan inaugurated the Nestlé for Healthier Kids (N4HK) room in Punjab Workers Welfare Fund (PWWF) Higher Secondary Girls School at Sahukimalian near Sheikhupura to foster and promote nutrition awareness. N4HK is Nestlé’s global nutritional awareness initiative which supports, teachers and caregivers on their journey to raise healthier kids through a curriculum-based education program promoting healthy nutrition, hydration, hygiene, and active lifestyle.

At the occasion, Jason Avanceña, CEO, of Nestlé Pakistan highlighted Nestlé’s association with PWWF. “Our association goes back 5 years, we started N4HK training at PWWF Girls School Multan in early 2016 and since then we have jointly worked together to strengthen this partnership with every passing year with more teacher training and development of N4HK room in Lahore and now here in Sahukimalian.”

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Labour and Chairman PWWF Faisal Fareed said, “We are honored to continue the partnership with Nestlé Pakistan and extend the reach of its N4HK initiative to schools across Punjab. We are confident that the awareness imparted on nutrition to teachers will play a very important role in promoting healthy habits and a better nourished future generation.”

This inauguration is part of PWWF and Nestlé Pakistan’s earlier collaboration to launch the N4HK program in 14 schools across Lahore, Sheikhupura, Warburton, Multan, Kasur, Faisalabad, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, and Rawalpindi to promote healthy nutrition by training more than 500 teachers reaching out to 15,000 students till 2024.

Under the multiyear partnership with PWWF, Nestlé implemented the program in six schools in Multan, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Warburton, training more than 200 teachers on nutrition awareness through expert trainers. Nestlé Pakistan also developed 3 N4HK rooms in partner schools, which provided a way for teachers and educators to reinforce the importance of good nutrition concepts for children.

The N4HK program is part of Nestlé’s commitment to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 of Good Health and Well-Being, to ensure that children understand the value of nutrition as they grow older. So far, the program has reached about 320,000 children and 1,750 teachers, in Pakistan.

In KPK, Pakistan, on 26th July, the Zindigi Prize, a revolutionary entrepreneurship competition, achieved remarkable success during its KPK Regionals held at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI). Co-hosted by GIKI, the event emerged as a game-changer in the country’s entrepreneurial landscape, following the resounding success of its regionals in Lahore and Islamabad.

The three-day event at GIKI commenced with an impressive opening ceremony, featuring innovative ideas from young entrepreneurs at the KPK Regional.
