October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a bevy of brands and organizations around the globe are taking it very seriously to bring everybody’s attention to something so important.

Nestle, known as a brand that pays immense importance to the fitness and sound health of its customer also played its vital role by launching a thought provoking breast cancer awareness campaign.

Nestle collaborated with McCann Paris to launch a video that sends a strong message to women to get their breasts checked on a regular basis for the signs of cancer.

Watch the viral video here:

The video shows a model wearing a pink bra that has camera hidden under it and that can count number of people who directly look at the boobs. The model is sent out on the street and by the end it is revealed that 29 people have directly looked at her boobs. While she was looking at her own breast in the mirror with the message in the caption:

“Your breasts are checked out every day. So, when was the last time you checked your own? Checking your breasts regularly helps prevent breast cancer.”

The hashtag #CheckYourSelfie is being promoted in connection with the campaign to spread the word about breast self-exams.

Speaking on behalf of Nestlé, Nicolas Guillon says that the bra cam video campaign not only raises awareness for women to do self-checks, but also helps raise awareness for breast cancer research.

“The new video was launched as part of the company’s annual Pink Ribbon commitment to build awareness about breast cancer and to raise funds in partnership with local charities in more than 20 communities where Nestlé Fitness operates,” he said.

Early detection of breast cancer plays a pivotal role in the survival rate and regular self-exam of your breasts is the only way to be aware of any kind of symptoms.

According to the research, breast cancer is the second leading cause for deaths among women and almost 40% of breast cancers are diagnosed after a woman feels lump in her breast.

Although, the video is targeted for every woman around the globe; it may be a little controversial for people in our society. With the involvement of global health care agencies, talking about women’s breast cancer is becoming less and less taboo in Pakistan

Whether you are in Pakistan or anywhere in the world, the importance of sound living and perfect health is equal for every individual. Being Pakistan’s most common type of cancer we should also play our part in raising awareness about the self-examination of breasts among women.
