In response to a desecration incident that occurred in Sweden, the Kuwaiti government has now made a decision to print 100,000 copies of the Holy Quran in the Swedish language. This decision was made by the Council of Ministers, following the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, in order to promote the true Islamic faith’s message of tolerance.
The task of printing and publishing the holy book in Swedish has been assigned to the Public Authority for Public Care. In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these copies will be distributed in Sweden with the aim of spreading Islamic principles, and values, and fostering positive coexistence among all individuals. This initiative seeks to promote love, tolerance, and peace while discouraging feelings of hatred, extremism, and religious intolerance.
Global Hate Crimes Against Islam
Hate crimes and the desecration of the Quran are distressing incidents that continue to occur in various parts of the world. These acts of hatred target the core beliefs and sacred symbols of religious communities, causing deep pain and anguish among their followers. The desecration of the Quran, the holy book of Islam, not only undermines the religious sentiments of Muslims but also represents an attack on the values of tolerance, respect, and freedom of worship.
Such acts of religious intolerance breed division, sow seeds of discord, and pose a threat to the harmonious coexistence of diverse communities. It is essential for societies, governments, and individuals to denounce and combat hate crimes, protect religious freedoms, and foster an environment of understanding and acceptance, where people of all faiths can live without fear of persecution or discrimination.
