After the likes of Amitabh Bachan, Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Madame Tussauds is now going to feature the wax statue of the Bollywood Barbie Doll, Katrina Kaif.
For the latest Bollywood celebrity statue, the museum collaborated with an Indian radio channel to allow the audience to vote for their favorite Bollywood star for the next statue. The nominations for the statue included Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif.
The Mary Kom star, Priyanka Chopra and the current reigning queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone surprisingly lost to the Bang Bang heroine.
It has been 15 years since Madame Tussauds housed the last Bollywood statue. Katrina Kaif, the eighth Bollywood celebrity to have her face immortalized in the popular wax museum, is believed to have worked with around 20 sculptors and artists to have her statue made in a colorful themed set.
Earlier reports had claimed that the statue of Katrina Kaif was to be chosen from one of her popular item song numbers like Chikni Chameli and Sheila ki Jawani. The statue of Katrina Kaif, in a dancing pose, will be revealed to the public and will be on display next year in spring 2015.
