Cyclone Komen is coming to Karachi in the next 72 hours. We all know what that means! Hello, rain! And a welcome development that would be, with the current heatwave the country is under.

Previously considered a tropical storm, the tornado has grown in size and intensity and is now expected to hit the Karachi coast midweek 25th – 26thJune, 2015.

This will be the second cyclone to have developed in the month of June 2015. At last, the sun-scorched people of Pakistan will have some rain to look forward to!

As per current models, this storm is likely to move towards Sindh- Gujrat border. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) is also monitoring this system and has already issued an advisory on it.

Whereas pre-monsoon showers have begun in extreme lower Sindh – Thar, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta and adjoining areas and the rain is likely to increase.

As for Karachiites, we’ll still be burning at 42 degrees and likely to continue for next 24-36 hours.
