Just a week left for arrival of the holy month and a not-so-shocking- spree of upcoming Ramadan transmissions on various channels has hit our TV screens.
Pakistan’s leading entertainment channel “HUM TV” has launched its special round the clock “Jashn-e-Ramadan” transmission, featuring live Suhoor and Iftar shows along with special Ramadan Plays.
The celebrated model- turned- actor “Ahsan Khan” will be the host of its Sehri and Iftar broadcasts which will comprise of the usual blend of religious and social activities, including recitation of the Holy Quran and Naats, word from the religious scholars and live cooking.
Entertainment segments like “Haya Al-Falah”-the Islamic Quiz Contest, Roza Khushayee and Salamat Rahay Pakistan will too be incorporated in the live show.
An extravagant set has been exclusively prepared for the transmission. Timing for Sehri show will be 2:30 PST to 5:00 PST while Iftar transmission will be from 3:30 PST to 7:30 PST.
However, critics are of the idea that Ahsan Khan’s appointment as the host of Ramadan transmission is far from a wise move by the channel.
While ARY has the popular duo of Junaid Jamshed and Waseem Badami, PTV will feature the knowledgeable Noorul Hassan and with the “Guru of all Ramadan transmissions” – Amir Liaquat starring on Express TV; the flamboyant Ahsan Khan, who is more of a skilful actor and dancer , will surely have a tough time competing with his much experienced rivals.
Nonetheless, with GEO TV not present to take the lion’s share in TRPs of Ramadan transmissions, let’s wait and watch that which channel will steal the limelight and walk away with the most ratings this time around.
