The movie has received mixed reviews with many criticizing not only the acting performances of the lead characters but also their failure to match their dancing skills to that of complementary professional dancers.

The storyline is inspired by a group of Mumbai-based real life dancers from Nala Sopara, who made it to international hip-hop championships, fighting against all odds, a few years ago. The movie, dotted with beaten-to-death clichés, starts off with the group of dancers reviled for copying others and then, given a second chance to prove their mettle.

The movie has all the typical ingredients of a Bollywood movie ranging from a forced maa-beta sentimental relationship to the usual over-the-top patriotism. While the storyline failed miserably, the spellbinding dance numbers did make an impression with the audience, saving the movie from bombing at the box office.

Directed by Remo D’Souza, the movie also stars choreographer, Prabhu Deva, re-assuming the role of the group’s dance mentor and others including professional dancer Lauren Gottlieb, Raghav Juyal and Dharmesh Yelande.
