akash-chopra-prediction-for-icc-world-cup-2023-final

Former Indian cricketer and commentator, Aakash Chopra, shared his prediction about the ICC World Cup Final.

Chopra opened up after witnessing New Zealand’s remarkable 149-run triumph against Afghanistan in Chennai.

With an unbeaten streak of four wins, New Zealand stands alongside India, who have also clinched victories in all three of their matches and are scheduled to face Bangladesh today in Pune.

Aakash Chopra expressed his admiration for the Black Caps and made an early prediction for the World Cup 2023 final.

He suggested that it would not be surprising if India and New Zealand eventually faced off at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he shared, “What an incredible team New Zealand is. Won’t be surprised if it’s India v NZ in the finals. Really early call…let’s see how it eventually unfolds. #CWC23.”

India secured comfortable wins against Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Black Caps triumphed over England, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

In yesterday’s match, led by Tom Latham, the Black Caps clinched their fourth consecutive win in the tournament, positioning themselves as strong contenders for a spot in the semi-finals.

Trent Boult and Matt Henry made early breakthroughs against Afghanistan, who were chasing a challenging target of 289 runs on Chennai’s tricky wicket—a pitch that posed challenges for the New Zealand batters in the first innings as well.

The entire Afghanistan team was dismissed for a mere 139 runs, resulting in a substantial 149-run victory for New Zealand. Batting first, New Zealand set a formidable target of 289 runs.

However, Hashmatullah Shahidi’s team had only themselves to blame, as Afghanistan’s fielders dropped catches on five different occasions.

With both teams displaying exceptional form, fans can anticipate thrilling encounters as the tournament progresses towards the much-anticipated final.
