asad umar

UPDATE: According to the latest list featured in Cabinet Division’s new notification, Asad Umar still holds the portfolio of Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs.

The notification reveals an updated list of federal ministers, ministers of state and advisers and special assistants to the prime minister.

What’s more, the list has no mention any mention of Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, who was named as the adviser to the PM on Finance.

In a shocking turn of events, Finance Minister Asad Umar has decided to quit the Federal Cabinet.

Apparently, instead of taking the energy ministry as desired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, Asad Umar had announced his disassociation from the cabinet.

He has expressed that he is not willing to take any other ministry either.

Taking to Twitter, the PTI politician wrote:

As part of a cabinet reshuffle PM desired that I take the energy minister portfolio instead of finance. However, I have obtained his consent to not take any cabinet position. I strongly believe is the best hope for Pakistan and inshallah will make a naya pakistan

According to Geo News, it is reported that Umar has already handed over his resignation as Finance Minister to Imran Khan
