Pakistan will be marking its 70th Independence Day this year on 14th August 2017. The celebrations are expected to be even grander this time around, given that our beloved nation has completed 7 prosperous decades of freedom and growth.
On Sunday, 16th July 2017, the official Logo of the 70 years of independence celebrations was launched at a ceremony held at Pakistan National Council of the Arts on Friday.
The Logo was unveiled in all its glory on social media and to no one’s surprise, people hated it!
Around 200 artists submitted 400 entries of logo designs. The competition was won by a third-year student of National University and Science and Technology, Saba Zaman, who will be awarded Rs. 500,000 by the Government of Pakistan on the Independence Day.
Critics at Khalid Alvi Marketing Next were amongst the first to take notice of the logo!
It obviously received a lot of backlash!
And of course, everybody wondered how come it won the contest!
So the big question remains who was the judge of the competition?
And how come the designer won?
This guy voiced out a valid point!
Somebody even posted the other logos that made it to the contest!
Now everybody wants the government that they should change the logo!
During the prize ceremony, Marriyum Aurangzeb requested all media platforms to air the logo during the 70th Independence Day celebrations.
