The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has shed light on the magnitude of the breach, revealing that data spanning from 2019 to 2023 was illicitly obtained through NADRA offices in Multan, Peshawar, and Karachi. Shockingly, this data crossed borders, reaching as far as Dubai, Argentina, and Romania, where it was reportedly sold. Involving the Interior Ministry, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Military Intelligence. The JIT’s recommendations for punitive action against senior NADRA officers underscore the gravity of the situation and the need for accountability in safeguarding citizens’ data.

Moreover, the JIT’s proposal for regulatory reforms and technological upgrades within NADRA represents a proactive step towards fortifying cybersecurity infrastructure. A video clip from an Iftar transmission has caught fire on social media. The video clip shows a group of scholars debating about the authenticity of Nikkah in Pakistani dramas. In a shocking turn of events the scholars present on the show deemed the Nikkah’s done on tv sets valid.

According to the ruling officiated by the scholars, since the Nikkah is done in the presence of witnesses hence they are legitimate.

‘If a Nikkah is done on set in the presence of eye witnesses then the Nikkah is officiated. Even if the scenario is out of a tv drama and not in real life.’ Clarified the scholar in his statement.

The same issue was also clarified for the case of divorce and was mentioned that the same will be applicable to divorce given the words are spoken between the couple even in the made up scenario of TV drama.

According to reliable sources, Usman seeks to establish his future in Pakistan cricket and has sought legal consultation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in this regard.

Usman’s decision comes on the heels of his impressive performance in the recent Pakistan Super League (PSL 9), where he shone for Multan Sultans with two centuries and a total of 430 runs.

His stellar showing in the PSL has earned him a spot in the PCB’s fitness camp at Kakul, further solidifying his place in the national reckoning.

Although Usman began his cricketing journey in Pakistan, he sought better opportunities in the UAE, where he was awarded a central contract by the ECB.

PCB Considers Luke Ronchi for Head Coach Position

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly set its sights on former New Zealand cricketer Luke Ronchi for the position of head coach.

Ronchi, who currently serves as the batting coach for New Zealand, has been approached by the PCB for the role. However, sources reveal that Ronchi has requested some time to consider the offer before making a decision.

Karachi’s Traffic Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Ahmed Nawaz, has issued new directives to ease traffic congestion during the month of Ramadan. In his latest orders, he instructed traffic officers not to issue fines to commuters rushing home for iftar from 5pm onwards. Instead, they are to focus on maintaining smooth traffic flow to ensure citizens reach home in time to break their fasts.

 

The DIG emphasized allowing families to proceed with a warning rather than issuing fines. Additionally, officers have been directed to prioritize addressing violations such as one-way driving, a leading cause of accidents and traffic disruptions. Parking, particularly at turning points, is to be strictly monitored, with a focus on preventing rickshaws, cars, and motorcycles from obstructing traffic. Officers without body-worn cameras are prohibited from issuing fines, and strict adherence to the fast lane rule on Sharahe Faisal is mandated, with motorcyclists directed to stay in the by-lanes.

Furthermore, specific time slots will be allocated for vehicle towing, limited to instances of double or illegal parking. The DIG emphasized that any officer found behaving inappropriately towards citizens will face disciplinary action.
