shahnawaz-dahani-kakul-fitness-camp-exclusion

Pakistan fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani has expressed disappointment after being left out of the list of players selected to attend the fitness camp in Kakul, Abbottabad, organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in collaboration with the Pakistan Army.

The PCB announced a roster of 29 players to undergo rigorous training at the camp, including the likes of Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, and Usman Khan.

However, Dahani’s omission from the list prompted the 25-year-old to share his frustration on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

In a post, Dahani asserted, “No regrets for me, as I will still be the fittest bowler even after this camp.” The pace bowler later deleted the post, but it did not go unnoticed.

Shahnawaz Dahani made his T20I debut in November 2021 against Bangladesh. With eight wickets in 11 appearances and an economy rate of 9.05, Dahani has showcased his talent on the international stage.

However, his performance in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) was below par, managing to claim just one wicket in four games for Multan Sultans.

The Kakul fitness camp, scheduled to commence on March 26 (today) and conclude on April 8, aims to prepare players for upcoming series and tournaments, including the home T20I series against New Zealand, the away T20I series against Ireland and England, and the ICC T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies.
