While Subhash Ghai is confident that the remake of his directorial, Hero, will be better than the original, Salman Khan has removed himself from all promotional activities.
The movie is still to be produced by Salman Khan and will feature newcomers, Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, under the direction of Nikhil Advani. Amongst the more renowned cast members are Govinda, Kader Khan, Vinod Khanna and Anita Hassanandani.
While Salman Khan has donned the producer’s hat for the movie, he has removed himself from all direct promotional activities, as he wants the debutant lead actors to be the center of attention.
Mr. Khan has also refused to do a dance number for the end titles. Moreover, he has also suggested that there be no promotional activities till the release date, 3rd July 2015.
So this explains why we not been treated to a trailer or a teaser and nobody has even seen a glimpse of the movie, a first look or a still of the lead couple.
With Salman Khan’s pending court case, it seems like it was a good idea to stay removed from upcoming productions especially considering it is introducing new actors and actresses.
Regarding the remake, while Subhash Ghai had given the rights of the movie to Salman Khan, he had refused to be a part of the production and wanted the remake to be an out and out remake, with an absolute modern vision.
