Dr Sara Saeed Khurram

CEO, Sehat Kahani

1. This International Women’s Day, I pledge…
To create jobs and healthcare opportunities for women to give and get the care they need.

2. Across the organizational landscape, I want to see more female representation in…
Leadership roles. Some of the best and brightest in the nation are excluded from business ventures just because they have families and homes to manage. We need more women to show that it is possible to have it all, that women can do the same.

3. The one stereotype about women that should be busted this year is…
That women cannot be ambitious and can do business while also being wives and mothers.

“Sehat Kahani is promoting gender equality and women empowerment by bringing back women, particularly women healthcare workers, back into the workforce.”

4. My organization is promoting gender equality and women empowerment…
One of the key areas Sehat Kahani focuses on is bringing back women, particularly women healthcare workers, back into the workforce.

5. I believe women can fight gender inequality at their workplaces…
By empowering young women and each other to do more and strive for greater heights. By having conversations about equality and about this disparity as often as they can.

6. As for men, they can help reduce gender bias at home and work…
By helping at home and also by supporting the women in their lives in business/educational pursuits as much as possible. Even a little can go a long way.

7. My message to young aspiring women looking to start a career in 2022 is…
Don’t be afraid of asking for advice, reach out, network, and get help where you need it. There will be points where the dominant masculine culture of business might push you down, but there will always be ways to overcome it. Do not let it get you down.
