In the world of cricket, decisions often come with consequences, and for Usman Khan, the path he chose to represent Pakistan over the UAE has stirred up a storm of repercussions from the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).

Despite facing a five-year ban from participating in UAE leagues, Usman remains steadfast in his commitment to wear the green jersey and represent his homeland.

Originally offered a retainer contract with the opportunity to play for the UAE cricket team, Usman made the bold choice to opt for Pakistan instead.

Despite facing initial challenges and less-than-ideal performances during his T20I debut against New Zealand, Usman stands by his decision without an ounce of regret.

“I have come into the Pakistan team on the back of performances, so I don’t think about the past,” Usman asserted during a media interaction in Lahore, emphasizing his gratitude for the opportunity to play for Pakistan and his unwavering commitment to the team’s cause.

“I am grateful that I am getting an opportunity to play for Pakistan. I have no regrets about my decision,” he added, showcasing his determination to make the most of his opportunity despite the hurdles he faces.

Acknowledging the pressure that comes with representing a national team, especially under scrutiny, Usman remains unfazed and focused on adapting to the team’s requirements without succumbing to external pressures.

“There is no pressure on me as I played according to the plans given to me. I stay true to my game and perform according to the team’s requirements. I have no issue batting at any number,” Usman affirmed.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam recently, reflecting on Usman Khan’s journey, commended the young player’s resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

Babar recognized the challenges Usman Khan has encountered and highlighted the promising signs of growth and improvement in his performance.

“Performing is not in anyone’s control. On the day that it is your day, you will perform,” Babar remarked, acknowledging the unpredictable nature of cricket while expressing confidence in Usman’s ability to rise to the occasion.
