It has always been able to come up with new ideas for its ad campaigns that are unique, catchy, and funny at times too. “Have a Break, Have a KitKat” has always been their slogan, and let’s be honest, it is iconic and legendary. You hear this and you think of KitKat. Now that could just be a very smart marketing tactic or it just could be that the chocolate itself is so good that people can’t get enough of it ever. Whatever, it is their ads are a huge part of their massive sales number.

This ad above is one of the ads from the new campaign and it’s absolutely relatable and hilarious. We’ve all been in a situation at a gathering where we are being kissed left and right and not in a good way. It’s the overwhelming affection from the “aunties” that is just too much to handle and that is when you really need a break. And that is when you should break a KitKat and have it to feel relaxed.

There’s another ad too where there is a guy who is being absolutely manhandled by the hairdresser and is having a lot of things done to him at the same time and it can clearly be seen that he is not enjoying any of it. Eventually, when he is literally done with all of that he takes out a KitKat and breaks a bar and eats it which helps them regain his composure.

So basically this means that whenever any of you are stuck in an unwanted and unpleasant situation of which the chances are likely, you just need a Kit Kat to snap back into peace. I think their slogan “Have a KitKat Have a Break” is quite literally true now. You need a break, you need a KitKat.

DXM causes hallucinations and out-of-body sensations similar to the ones caused by drugs like ketamine and PCP. Meanwhile, other active ingredients in the syrup include cough suppressants (dampening the body’s cough reflex), expectorants, and mucolytics (both of which help clear phlegm).

Another major ingredient that poses a greater risk to children is the presence of sedatives in cough syrups. Even though sedation may be a desired outcome for parents of a restless kid, young children are especially vulnerable to serious injury or even death. Hyperactivity and agitation are other side effects of sedatives.

Overdosing on cough syrups is another major risk factor. Parents who misunderstand the label, those who purposefully use more in the hopes that it would work better. Unintentional overdoses and the use of imprecise measuring tools like household spoons can all lead to overuse. Adverse events associated with over dosage of cough syrups include agitation and psychosis.

Our study, which was just published in the Medical Journal of Australia, demonstrates that limiting children’s access to cough and cold medications reduces poisonings significantly and sustainably.

Another research focused on dosing errors, adverse reactions to the right doses, and unintentional “exploratory ingestions,” such as when a young child helps themselves to the medicine.

Urdu To Be Promoted As A National Language By Government

To implement and advance Urdu as a national language, the Ministry of Planning and Development has approved the creation of the National Language Processing Laboratory. Details indicate that the National Language Processing Laboratory’s PC-One has received approval for a price tag of approximately 78 million rupees.

Urdu As A National Language

The National Language Promotion Department will oversee the project’s execution, with the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture Division serving as the sponsor.

According to Director General NLPD Dr. Rashid Hameed, who is working with the department established in October 1979 to advance and promote the Urdu national language.

“The core objective of the project is to elevate Urdu to the status of languages with extensive digital data resources and equip it with modern technology applications.”

The project, according to Dr. Rashid Hameed, will develop several applications, including Machine Translation (MT), Speech Recognition (SR), and Optical Character Recognition (OCR), to improve access to language learning, facilitate cross-border communication and commerce, allow users to access online content, foster cross-cultural understanding, and help preserve language resources.

While providing more information about the project, Syeda Roshana Ali Naqvi, the program manager for research and development at the NLPD, revealed that the machine translation module employed computer techniques to automatically translate text from English to Urdu.

“This module will efficiently provide translations of all current official documents from English to Urdu, including policies, press releases, economic surveys, annual reports, long-term plans, newsletters, public notices, tenders, and advertisements,” she added.

“This technology will help digitize Urdu audio resources, such as parliamentary speeches and meeting minutes. Meanwhile, speech recognition technology could increase accessibility and inclusivity for those with hearing and speech impairments.” She further added.

In contrast, the OCR module will transform the printed text into editable digital text. In comparison to manual typing, this will significantly reduce the time and effort required to digitize previously printed records. The text will be searchable thanks to the OCR module, making it simpler to use and gain access to.

The investigative team then managed to record a secret video that captured Tahir Baloch accepting the bribe and promising to provide an affidavit to de-seal the bakery. However, when the reporter informed the investigative team about the bribery incident, Deputy Director Khadim Hussain denied taking any bribes and claimed he was not present in the office when the money was handed over. Further inquiry revealed that Tahir Baloch was a private individual and also the driver of Deputy Director Khadim Hussain. Additionally, the investigative team discovered that the bakery was sealed without obtaining any samples whatsoever. During questioning, the Deputy Director attempted to avoid and dodge questions asked by the investigative team. The investigative team also emphasized that the primary objective of the Sindh Food Authority is to guarantee food quality. Still, the agency was engaged in corruption rather than performing its responsibilities dutifully.

TikTok And Edkasa Provide #ExamReady Scholarships To 10,000 Sindh Students

On May 15, 2023, in Pakistan with the aim of digitizing educational procedures and building on enhanced learning results, TikTok and ed-tech company Edkasa are collaborating with the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) to expand the #ExamReady scholarship program to over 10,000 deserving students in the province.

Early in 2022, TikTok, Edkasa, and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) introduced #ExamReady, a groundbreaking STEM-focused digital learning initiative designed to support high school students’ online education and distant learning. The #ExamReady scholarship project, which will award online study funds to 18,000 meritorious students from all around Pakistan, was unveiled earlier this year.

The collaboration with the Sindh Education Foundation will support the spread of high-quality education in Sindh’s underprivileged regions. Sindh post-primary students in grades IX to XII would be eligible for the scholarships. By offering secondary and high school students a top-notch online learning experience through the Edkasa app, the partnership is the most recent in a series of initiatives taken by TikTok and Edkasa to improve learning outcomes through the use of technology.

Over 500 instructional videos on chemistry, physics, and maths were made available online as part of the #ExamReady campaign, which aimed to aid millions of Pakistani students. These included exam cheats and study strategies. On TikTok, the educational films quickly became a hit with Pakistani students, receiving over 558 million views and about 114,000 video submissions since its launch.

The short-form video platform is changing its focus in order to have a bigger influence on the communities where it operates, and Edkasa is doing the same with TikTok. Because of Edkasa’s success, which has over 480,000 downloads, and other partnerships, TikTok has been able to add more value to its platform.

The app and TikTok’s platform have shown to be of tremendous value to people who have suffered in the traditional classroom learning paradigm because of a system that is overworked, according to several student and parent testimonials.

Abdul Kabir Kazi, Managing Director, of Sindh Education Foundation, said that “The Government of Sindh, through the SEF, has taken various steps for the promotion and development of education across the province, mainly in the form of Public-Private Partnership initiatives benefiting around 850,000 students in more than 2600 schools and non-formal education centers across Sindh.”

He continued, “#ExamReady is a fantastic project that has given kids access to top-notch online content. As the kids were getting ready for their board examinations, the intervention could not have come at a better moment. Thanks to this relationship, our students now have a platform to continue developing their skills. The Grade XII students, who are highly enthusiastic, have also universally appreciated the added benefit of preparing for the SAT and entrance examinations.

COLABS And ACCA Partner To Boost Financial Literacy In Businesses

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and COLABS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further their partnership in Lahore, on May 12, 2023. The MoU places a strong emphasis on developing capacities, exchanging knowledge, and raising awareness about important subjects such as financial capabilities, business planning, business valuation, financial modeling, business ethics, governance frameworks, and investment management.

In the presence of top management from both organizations, the MoU was signed in Lahore by Assad Hameed Khan, Head of Pakistan for ACCA, and Omar Shah, Founder & CEO of COLABS.

‘The MoU with ACCA provides the guiding principles for various activities to enhance cooperation between ACCA and COLABS in building the financial capacity of COLAB’s partner organizations. This includes the organization of capacity-building workshops and webinars to disseminate information about both organizations’ mandates and scope of activities. The MoU also includes awareness sessions for COLABS partner organizations on different programs, such as the ACCA Approved employer program and ACCA learning certificates,’ said Omar Shah.

Assad Hameed Khan, Head of ACCA Pakistan, highlighted: ‘This partnership provides an outreach and opportunities platform for COLAB’s partner organizations, not only to upskill but also to understand their professional role in contributing to the economy of Pakistan.’

‘We look forward to working closely with ACCA to leverage our respective strengths to foster economic growth and development in Pakistan,’ added Omar Shah.

The MoU that COLABS and ACCA signed paves the way for more collaboration between the two organizations to create a calendar and plan events and activities independently or jointly for the benefit of the respective stakeholders.
